This was the first Dyson vacuum that I had in 1994. The DC02 was the first cylinder vaccum too. I was amazed by this. The look and design of the vacuum and no bag. The dust spinning around in the bin was fascinating. Now I have the new Dyson Gen 5 Decect. It’s truly fantastic
You’ve made me feel like I’m not the only freek who likes vacuums because I have had a very hard time in school but since I’ve watched you I’ve felt special
I will soon be getting the Fantom Lightning one that we had in the USA, it was just like this as it was made with Dyson's patents but it was black and purple and had a motorized power head with a brushroll.
Hey there ibaisaic Just wanted to say that I really enjoy your videos. I haven't absolutely no idea why I like vacuums but I'm glad that I'm not the only one! Thanks for making your videos and keep up the great work 👍
I got a Dc02 not that long ago, it needs a new motor and has the same problem yours does, however I won’t give up on it since it’s a De Stijl model and I always have no luck finding any of those models
Good video Roger, Funny to think many were literally “sucked in” by the claims of no loss of suction but of course there was little to lose first off, they focused on the cyclone technology at the time, I wasn’t convinced by the sales ploy, i knew many that was at the time that was fooled by quirky looks and see the dirt whizzing round the bin, it’s only in last 3 -4 years I have taken to the better more modern Dyson machines.
I must admit it was novel to see the dirt spinning round at first, but after a few uses that loses it’s charm and you’re left with a vacuum that looks dirty all the time. I prefer to keep the dirt hidden away inside a bag although I can see the pros and cons of bagged and bagless cleaners.
My Nan used to have the old DC02 till the motor went. I have still have the attachment from the vacuum and apparently, it fits on numatic wand end including the old turbo head
Hey ibaisaic, I recently got an unused and unopened DC02 but it doesn't seem to power on. The motor doesn't spin nor make any noise. The vacuum is completely silent. Do you know why this may be happening?
Thank you for the videos you do Roger, the time and effort that you put in is greatly appreciated. I was wondering if you have a Dc07 Animal in your collection? If you don’t then I would highly recommend one, they are amazing compared to the Dc04 Animal and the Dc14 Animal 😉
I have had a DC07 Animal from new but I sold it ages ago, though I will get a DC07 and DC14 at some point to fill some more gaps in the Dyson collection.
built to last not like the modern dysons. I have a dc50 and its broken down more than twice. and one of my family members bought a dyson dc01 in 1993 and she still uses it today.

You can't have had it in 1994 as DC02 came out in 1995.
iv'e wanted one and dyson should make a nostalgia commicial

It's not unusual to like vacuums. I was bullied in school for it too. Collecting vacuums is just a collection like any other.
@@RJA_World I like vacuums too. I have a obsession with them even when I was in school people never cared about my obsessions.
Nah you're not weird for collecting something you like.
@@jayambermsp8000 I've liked vacs since I was small and I was severely bullied throughout school and college
@@RJA_World That's terrible. Don't let people put you down for liking them.

Guess what?! I went to Tesco yesterday and I was on the car isle and I saw T-Cut!
Love these video. Ashamed to say I beat my DC02 to death as a car vacuum cleaner! Does well, annoying shaped nozzle though!
This is better than Miele's one touch cord rewind, you don't even have to press it.
I am a robot vacuum cleaner, and Thusi asked, however, that Dyson canister vac is the only real vacuum I really like

in america we got this vacuum as a fantom lighting with minor changes and a power nozzle

You never disappoint me roger your always awesome as always and love your Christmas tree and your Christmas outfits I just love this time of year
Glad you’re enjoying the advent videos Joseph. Lots more Christmas jumpers and socks to come.
My Nan used to have the old DC02 till the motor went. I have still have the attachment from the vacuum and apparently, it fits on numatic wand end including the old turbo head
29/04/97 is the date it was made if you look above the ending of the address where it says England directly above that is the manufacturing date
My favorite Dyson of all...
Using Dysons Serial Number lookup, I found that machine was originally shipped Date Shipped: 06/02/2006
???
Unlikely, these were only in production till around 2000/2001
1:54 That’s something you can test the vacuum cleaner on

could be the switch the cable the fuse or the motor
Sounds like a dc01
Merry Christmas😍😯😁😲😃😄😇🤩🤠

Don’t watch it then.
sorry im late by 3 years but i think it is an 1997 march 29th model, sorry if im wrong
You are a bit late. I sold this cleaner last week, but thanks for the info.
Great video roger also it's me josh I just changed my name
If the lead is not staying out Roger hope you got a bit of cash back especially if the seller didn’t declare it
Unfortunately this was a common fault with DC02. The seller should have declared it though
@@RJA_World I wonder why they don't stay out.
@@jayambermsp8000 The springs on the rewind corrode over time
@@RJA_World Ah that's why. However, finding a rewind is going to be difficult now.
@@jayambermsp8000 it is, I luckily found one a few months ago. If you see one , just buy it
Can you please made v8 unboxing some advent video?
Yes, I may do that as I’ve had the V8 nearly a year now and it’s never been out of the box.
ibaisaic Finally👌
Have you still got this? I'd like to buy it
Yes I have but it’s not for sale.
@@ibaisaic Fair enough, have a good day Roger. I am also loving the new content 😌
@@ibaisaic Hi Roger, I'm getting a DC04 DeStijl from Ebay. What's the best way to give it a once over and make it look good?
It's on sale on Ebay. However, you'll need to bid on it.
@@jayambermsp8000 that's not this one. I've seen the one you're referring to
