    I just bought this and used it for the first time today, since my older Rocket died and lost it’s suction after a couple years of use. Self cleaning brush roll, indeed - but where does all that hair go? I’ll tell you - open the dust cup and it’s rolled up in the middle. You need to stick your fingers… or hand… in there to get all the gunk out that’s stuck. So yeah, it may “keep the dust in” whilst you’re vacuuming, but get ready to use your hands after vacuuming. With such a small dust canister, you will be doing this often, even for those whom live in smaller apartments such as myself, I made sure to empty the canister after each room to ensure it doesn’t get clogged up like my old one.
    With that said, the suction is a fantastic upgrade to the older model Rocket stick vacs. Let’s see how long this one will last until it too loses it’s suction (Oh, but remember, they’re supposed to “never lose suction,”as per company claim).
    Along with great suction, the new and improved brush rolls seem less harsh on my carpets too, which I highly appreciate. The older brush rolls were way too harsh and I could see damage to my carpets after constant use. Another HUGE PLUS for me is the noise level! It is SO quiet! If my baby isn’t afraid of it, then Shark must be doing something right, lol. Also enjoying the flex wand and being able to fold the vacuum in half to store away. Now, it is more on the heavy side of stick vacs… so lifting it above your head to clean fans or the window sills will tire your arms easily.
    I am happy with the purchase, but thinking of upgrading to an upright model, to see if the dust cans are improved.

    Shark is SHARP!! We have 5 different Shark Vacuum cleaners and are quite happy with it! To be fair, we haven’t tried Dyson but we used to own Hoover and Dirt Devil and comparing those to our Shark vacs is like comparing water and wine! I love that Shark added the Duo brush and flex wand designs to their full capacity corded vacuums!!! It’s SHARK SPARK! Watch them steal my line here...lol...I had back surgeries so I can definitely benefit from the flex wand design!!! Thanks! Love your reviews!!!

    I have an old hoover which is starting to get a bit tired.It is 2100 watts with great suction.Went for this demo machine and it doesn’t disappoint.Fixed it together easily and went around most of the house to give it a good run in.I was pleased how close you can get to skirting boards and easy access under furniture.The big bonus is the long cord for doing the stairs with the hand tools as it reaches easily all the way.Had this been cordless I would have done perhaps just half the house and then charge up for three hours to do the other half what a pain.Tried it on hard floors and deep pile carpet thus using both settings.Pick up was very good but the container catching all the dirt and dust fills up and emptying has to be done frequently.I thought it was difficult to see how full the container was despite the clear container.overall I think this has been an excellent purchase so far and my next step is to try it on the car.One final comment is that it won’t stand up when all assembled as it is top heavy like others I have seen and I would have liked to see it a bit wider as more passes are required than my old hoover.

    I've had mine for 6 months, and I love it except for 2 things. Firstly, the weight distribution is a bit off. It'll make your shoulders ache if you use it for a prolonged period. Also, the foam filter needs washing a LOT. I live in a small flat with no pets, yet the filter seems to get dirty incredibly quickly. I used to have a VAX, and I only seemed to washed the filter half as much as I do with this.

    Hello Roger brilliant video of a brilliant vacuum i am so pleased with mine i think the filters will not be needing cleaned quite as frequently as my rocket duo clean there is only one thing i am wondering is why Shark have decided to omit the led light from the front of the vacuum like the one that is one the Rocket duo clean its no biggie just slightly missing it when in dark spots when in handheld mode like i say its no big issue as i absolutely love this vacuum, like you i am thinking of doing a comparison between this and My Rocket duo clean to see any differences in power and performance

  • @mannequindisplay

    I may pick this one up as I have a Miele canister vacuum and that thing gets on my nerves as it will flip over going around corners or it will hit the button that retracts the cord and will unplug which drives me crazy . I live in a condo so I think the Shark will take up less room then the Miele and it's doesn't cost $950 Canadian like the Dyson V10 ... I prefer a cord over cordless as a 30ft cord on the Shark will do my whole condo just from one outlet :) So your reviews are helpful as it looks like a really good vacuum and comes in at a good price not like my $800 Miele Vacuum :)

    This sounds very quiet compared to older shark's, the older ones have tiny screaming motors and the cleaner head motors where also screamers too but this is very quiet. Wonder if shark will ever make a Multi-Cyclonic machine? All this technology plus a Multi-Cyclonic system would make the perfect vacuum I'm guessing. We have a Dyson V6 for spills and daily whip arounds and a Dc40 animal Erp for weekly vacuums plus I have my numatic James with airobrush I like to use aswell, my mum prefers the Dyson if she's doing the vacuuming but I'll use either, I like James due to not having the weight of a upright in my hand and also the airflow seems a lot stronger on James even though he's only got about 30Aw more than the DC40. Great video as always Roger 🙂

If you work along the stairs from wall to wall seems difficult to have the wand in a position to push. I wonder if you can help me.Your video was very informative,as I bought a reconditioned hoover,the one you demonstrate,from eBay.It doesn’t pick up well,and the lights keep flashing! It looks like the roller isn’t moving! The sellers not answering my messages,it cost £90,and I live in Outer Hebrides. I am 65 and live on my own,and feel the need to send it back,but it could be something simple.
    Your opinion would be most appreciated.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  Před 3 lety +1

      The flashing lights indicate a problem with the motorised head. It will cut out if it becomes jammed or used on carpets that cause it to slow down. I would file a complaint with ebay directly if the seller isn’t responding as I’ve been given full refunds from ebay in the past without having to return the item.

  • @madabouthoovers9767
    @madabouthoovers9767 Před 6 lety +1

    Well, they really have improved the noise on these - If I had just heard it and never saw it - I would never have guessed that I was listening to a Shark Rocket. They used to be so loud and ear piercing with a noisy and whiny brushbar motor. The filtration and foam pad on the exhaust will help immensly to muffling the noise of the motor - but this does come at the expense of suction power, thats probably why it only gets a D for carpet cleaning. Also, the 450W motor will be a factor in that pickup rating which is quite frankly, dissapointing. In all other aspects, its very good. Reliability has been patchy with hoses on Sharks, with many being reported ripped and cracked open within 12 months of purchase - its all there in the "community" section of Shark's main facebook page, so Its worth checking out that before deciding to buy. facebook.com/pg/SharkCleaning/community/?ref=page_internal

      @vacuumtests9225 Před 6 lety +1

      After watching this video I really don't feel like using my Shark Rocket stick vacuum. It's annoyingly loud. This new Shark is like from the different planet.
      i wouldn't trust the EU label.For example the SEBO automatic X7 gets D for the carpet cleaning performance and the Miele Dynamic U1 Cat & Dog, (1500 watts) C-rating. At the same time some very cheap straight suction canisters get A. Very confusing.

    • @madabouthoovers9767
      @madabouthoovers9767 Před 6 lety +1

      If it was the cordless model (the IonFlex) it wouldnt have to have an EU ratings label - it could could be as noisy and polluting as it wanted. www.dyson.co.uk/competitor/shark-duo-clean.html

    • @vacuumtests9225
      @vacuumtests9225 Před 6 lety +1

      Holy crap! Looks like the Shark really needs the hepa filter.
      This corded model looks ok to me, but they just can't compete with the Dyson what it comes to the cordless models. Digital motor is obviously much better and lighter.

    • @madabouthoovers9767
      @madabouthoovers9767 Před 6 lety +2

      The cordless version does not have HEPA filters presumably because it would cause too much airflow resistance, and the motor would not be able to cope. The less the filtration, the less the airflow obstruction, so it has more suction power. The corded version that Roger demonstrated has a more powerful motor which is able to provide enough suction, despite having a HEPA filter.

      They shouldn't flash. There may be a short circuit somewhere. I would contact Shark for advice.

      It should come with a cutter tool to get any hair or string off (by the brush itself), but you can just brush it off into the trash. You can also wash/rinse it off in the sink, wring it out, and let it dry as needed.

    • @ibaisaic
      @ibaisaic  Před 5 lety +1

      I'm not sure how you have managed to block it, but the most likely place is in the main head. You can check for a blockage there by removing from the wand and looking down the part where it connects to the wand. You can also remove the base plate to see if there is anything trapped in the nozzle. The instruction book will show you how to do this. Also make sure the filters don't need washing because if they are clogged with dust, the suction will be reduced.

    Bought this model six months ago, and wasted my money. The bottom flexihose, parted company from the plastic tube, the joint is very weak, and not fit for purpose. Living in a remote area as I do the warranty is virtually useless as I need a hoover now not in however long it takes to fix/repair it, and postal costs will be high anyway, so I won't be returning it. Prior to it becoming totally useless it wasn't very efficient anyway with multiple blockages, frequent cleaning of filters, in a small two bedroom house with three CLEAN adults and no pets, hoovering soon became even more of a chore. Be warned stay clear

      The retailer you purchased the cleaner from is legally obliged to deal with any complaints within the guarantee period. I suggest you contact them and ask for a refund or replacement.
