In the enthralling Blow Out, brilliantly crafted by Brian De Palma, John Travolta gives one of his greatest performances as Jack, a movie sound-effects man who believes he has accidentally recorded a political assassination. - Krátké a kreslené filmy
I met John Travolta last year and he signed my Blow Out poster. He recognised it was an original print and called the movie a classic. Clearly very proud of the film as he should be.
What an honor! Oh and where did you get a poster? I'd love to get one.
DUDE that's awesome!!! It's my favorite film of His. I just had to watch it tonight, being it's the 40th Anniversary.
@@aaronfrick4143 Excellent choice from you!
BLOW OUT is also one of my favorites all times and genres combined!
His final scene-the final scene in the film-is the best acting of his career
*recognized
One of the most devastatingly brilliant movies I have ever seen. The ending is so twisted, and perfect.
just finished this, still haunted by the ending.
@@sadiqurrahman9741 It's absolutely normal.
This ending is really something!
The look on His face, makes the eyes water. My favorite film of His. Just finished watching it again, today is the 40th Anniversary of the film.
God I just finished it too. I was talking to the screen pulling my hair out
What, a great movie - what a horribly great ending. Haven’t really dived deep into de Palma but this bought me over.
"Its a good scream, good scream"
Watched this after seeing Tarantino mention it in an old interview, such a great film. One of Travolta's best performances!
Totally agree!
A wonderful thriller!
A wonderful movie!
me too. i also watched Audition because of Tarantino, but that was way better. fantastic movie
@@1985pza I highly recommend the Japanese movie "Battle Royale" and the Korean movie "Old Boy" another 2 of Tarantino's favourites.
Yep, I am here in nostalgic reality, also coming along the journey due to the peculiar algorithm of YT, guiding me to Tarantino, leading me here.
Gawd damn, after watching the trailer, why would anybody in their right mind want to carry this movie with them for their eternity on a desert island! Maybe I should watch it before casting drunken judgement....proceed.
local theater is doing a blowout/blue velvet double feature this friday i'm excited :D
really disappointed i missed this six years ago
@@Zmckrell I was there !
That's literally perfection
The ending was twisted and dark AF. It made my brain oompa-loompa for straight 1 hour.
Came here from "Quentin tarantino 3 movies I would take on a deserted island"
Normie
We are two bro
haha me 2 so funny. But so scared to watch it. Trailer looks soooo bad!
Me too :-)
ha ha...same here
Travolta gave an intense performance at least worthy of an oscar nomination in this film.
Ok Vincent H.
Totally agree!
An exquisite De Palma thriller with stellar performances by Travolta and Allen. Overlooked and underappreciated.
Was this a good De Palma, Travolta and Allen collaboration since Carrie
Definitely top five of all DePalma films.
Oh hell yeah!
What’s the top five?
Can we give recognition to Pino Donaggio for creating one of the most iconic soundtracks of all time for this movie?
ABSOLUTELY!!!!!
Travolta & DePalma's BEST MOVIE!!! I wish they had a commentary track :(
Everybody’s talking about how underrated and great this movie is and how John Travolta was excellent.
But nobody talk about one of the scariest and greatest performances ever in a movie by John Lithgow, he was terrifying as a serial killer in Blow Out. And was even one of his first movies
Oh, he is very underrated. I don't see him in many movies today. What happened to him?
@@avanishdutta2658 he’s barneys dad in himym
@@avanishdutta2658 He's still active--he's appearing in an ABC tv special next week.
@@avanishdutta2658 also played a serial killer in the Dexter series
Lord Farquad in Shrek
Magnificent. The culmination of DePalma's early period, and Travolta's greatest performance.
Absolutely love this film - criminally underrated at the time now only starting to get the love it deserves
underrated...
Just watched this on 123movies yesterday. Brilliant film and one of Travolta's best performances. Also, gotta love De Palma's visual style he brings to the film.
I can’t believe how good John Travolta is in this. I think Tarantino said this is the film that brought John to his attention.
The cinematography, the suspense, truly one of the better films I’ve seen and it really holds up
Fantastic film. Might be my favorite of De Palma’s work, but that opening scream never gets old. 🤣🤣🤣
lol yes
Fantastic film. The blu ray was well worth it.
I just bought this film on Criterion Blu-ray today. Amazing! :)
John Lithgow fucking kills it in this movie
Amazing criterion release. Bought it for $30 at FYE. Worth every penny. The film looks and sounds beautiful.
I loved absolutely every part of this movie. This trailer is no exception. Really kicks into high gear at about 1:13. Only way they could have improved it is if they played the car crash sound alongside the tire skidding at the end where the two Os combined.
A great movie!
Same. Love the movie.
I say this goes to the top 3 of best De Palma movies; alongside Scarface and Carrie.
Watched this today for the first time. 10/10. One of my favourite De Palma films.
Blow Out, Blow Up and the Conversation make a fantastic trilogy. Blow Out is the thrilling one, Blow Up is the philosophically interesting one, the Conversation is the best character study and movie of the moment.
BLOW OUT is way far better than the 2 others. BLOW UP and THE CONVERSATION are just very slow moving, very boring and really soporific!
U damn straight the conversation was slow but have deep character study, and blow out was too good, gotta watch blow up asap
@@cmasroorahmad THE CONVERSATION and BLOW UP are 2 of the most slow moving, boring and soporific movies ever made!
2 real pieces of shit!
@@Jeckxdeel just coz its slow doesn't mean that it's a bad movie conversation has one of the greatest characters study, and yeah it's a slow burning movie fortunately I'm a fan of slow burning thrillers rather than slasher, and action movies ... and yeah blow out was great movie as well
@@cmasroorahmad I'm not a fan of slasher and action movies either.
But THE CONVERSATION and BLOW UP are really too slow moving, boring and soporific.
They don't belong in the thriller/crime movie genre.
But I like other films belonging to other genres than thriller/crime movie.
THE CONVERSATION and BLOW UP have just a vague history of conspiracy.
The history of conspiracy is even less developed in BLOW UP.
2 really boring and soporific movies.
ALL PRESIDENT's MEN has a great history of conspiracy but has the pacing of a turtle and slug together, obvious lengths and endless dialogues. It's certainly the most talkative movie ever made.
A really boring and soporific movie too. So a real piece of shit as the 2 others.
As the neo-noir mystery thriller movie’s advertisement slogan claimed : “Murder has a sound all of its own”. YES, INDEED… And that sound is outright MIND BLOWING‼️
Quentin Tarantino, a staunch fan of fellow director Brian De Palma, called “Blow Out” (1981) De Palma’s finest motion picture. He even cited “Blow Out” as one of his own personal top favorite films he would readily take along to some desert island. If that doesn’t speak volumes, then nothing does, right⁉️ 🎥💎🎥
I love that wrist watch piano wire gimmick! So scary!
Blow out is a classic
I. Love. John. Travolta. Big Trav been putting down since back in the day. Loved Carrie also!
gee, where else did I hear about a recording of a shot that didn't happen? And who's car wound up in a lake by accident? Gotta love it when art imitates life
Can’t wait to see this tomorrow!
So far this movie reminds me alot of another DePalma movie body double but I haven't finished this way yet
It's just so good.
Better than 'Carrie' Sue?? The choices...
Underrated as hell pretty nice movie
I'll check it out! Love John Travolta!
Came here to check out the trailer after hearing James Gunn say it was his favorite 80s movie, can't wait to see it
I watched that last night. Very interesting film.
Looking forward to this! Criterion, please release Dressed to Kill as well!
Nancy Allen is a great actress
A cinematic masterpiece!
God save Criterion!
Masterpiece!
Gonna watch this!
great trailer
Glorious film
this movie is like arlington road but is the perpetrator that comes after the innocents that tried to prove the whole thing and vice versa
This movie fucking ROCKS! Legalize Split Diopter!
Now that's a scream!
I’m about to watch this movie for the first time
Amazing movie
Totally agree!
Just came from Tarantino talking about this with Joe Rogan, have to watch this now.
me too
Same lads!
Masterpiece no doubts
super !!!!! films
Whoa...!
De Palma’s best film
Does anyone know who did the score for this trailer?
The score, I'm not sure but Pino Donnagio composed the theme song.
Make the Criterio Colllection available in the Dominican Republic please.
1:08 so that's where James Cameron got the idea
Awesome movie. Kinda sad though.
this is trippy af
I like this movie but I think it is a spiritual sequel to blow up from 1966
Actually, De Palma mentions Antonioni's Blow-Up and Coppola's The Conversation as inspiration in the conceptualization/the idea of Blowout!
@@moviescinema958 But BLOW OUT is way far better.
The 2 other movies are soporific!
Not into happy endings, but her dying and then using the scream..😭
Or maybe it was a litle tribute to immortalise her
You will find a new appreciation for this movie if you watch it while on edibles!
Is there anything better than old movie trailers??
I don't think so!
I mean, hardcore sex with someone you're mutually attracted rivals it -- but yeah, vintage film trailers rock!
Such focused artistry was put into them back in the day. In the digital age? Nope!
ong bruh I love this shit fr
One of the movies ever made
Looks like you forgot a word, champ. Best, worst, greatest...?
I know that this is an older movie, but seriously: if your movie is all about sound, make the sound quality a bit better!
Hey nowadays editors here's how you make a trailer
I think the Terminator sfx were inspired by this movie
John tracolta
No commentary track?
De Palma's one of the biggest critics against audio commentaries.
Im here for Brian de Palma to study and master his art Craft in camera
What are Chris and Billy up to this time?
Hahaha
1:04 "The Girl? I decided to terminate her...... terminate her.... terminate her.... get it? Like the movie The Terminator that comes out in three years?"
Where's the green band?
Might Obsession qualify as De Palma's best?
Who's here after hearing Tarantino talk about this film on JRE?
Am I in a minority for believing - and defending - that this is the greatest film De Palma ever made?
I'm about to watch this is this any good?? I've just found an app on android its absolutely amazing not even Netflix will have these movies !!!
It’s great!
babado!
Absolute masterpiece
I'll have to watch it again. Travolta was fantastic. Devastating finale. But... Did anyone else find it dated?
Dated or not, it's a serious candidate for the title of "number one thriller" all times combined and one of the best movies of the whole creation in my opinion!
If Blow Out is dated then modern day films have aged like milk.
Hello
you gotta shape up! Because I need a man!
Based on a true story, no doubt
0:26- Oh no, I respect this movie far too much to make a fart joke.
1:11- Somewhere, James Cameron thought "I got it! Terminator!"
A feel bad movie
Is Alec Baldwin narrating the trailer???
1:48 pm February 7th 2024
Terrifying. He puts women in completely vulnerable and hopeless ( as fateful) situations. Not getting out alive unless…
This must have been what "Enemy of the State" with Will Smith was based off of.
The Conversation with Gene Hackman.
Definitely John Travoltas best movie and possibly Brian Depalmas most attractive film, although i would've rather seen and heard a more mature leading actress, which like would've certainly added immensely to the darkness and despair of this cult classic film.
For the algo
Whos here in 2024 from jumpers jumo podcast?
Not me. Never heard of it.
Not in the same league as Carrie or Scarface.
Here because of tarantino
Collision Course. 🤕
1966 Original was better (like all originals) i reccomend watching that first.
This ones turns it into kinda generic 80s noir thriller. But still much better than your average thriller.
Not bad but doesnt reach the originals cinematic imagination
A copy of Blowup, the English movie about a man who PHOTOGRAPHS an assassination. Gee how original.🙄
Blowout is WAY BETTER!
