You literally had me hooked in the first few seconds! Your voice is amazing! I am an Esthetician and I have been using square appointments on my phone and I got to where I hated clients touching my phone all day because of COVID-19. This makes things so much easier for me! I appreciate your review. I’m actually looking at this for band merch. Usually you can set up at a small table to sell your shirts and CDs and stuff, and I’m looking for a good way to take credit card payments. So I need something small and reliable, and this seems to fit my needs very well.

I think this would be perfect for selling Merch on the go... I have never used it outside of my shop... to be honest when it slipped out my hand in the video that was a mistake that you learned right with me real time... I just left it in the video to show it will slip out your hand. I have not picked it up since I put it in my shop... I am just telling you if you will have a lot of people handling it... find a way to mount it to the table... So l was wondering if l get one of those do you still need the BiG screen terminal to enter a small restaurant menu or you can enter the whole menu into this small terminal and how 'bout the other features that the BiG screen terminal has LiKE staff sign-in and all that.. When I started my business years ago I had a lot of trouble with PayPal and wish I knew of these other solutions. So I just like to help wherever I see fit.

Good review, thank you! I was about to pull the trigger on two of these but after seeing the review I realize it isn't much different than the square reader that I have now in terms of actual functionality. It's a much nicer device for sure, but the checkout experience is similar enough that I'm going to stick with the reader.

Use this terminal for our small business. We ain't in the barber shop or anything like that. But when contractor works on the go payments is amazing and the customers like not having to come to an office to pay.

Thats a good question... really good question... sorry I don’t know the answer. that would be very helpful but I would say it would be easier to just pick up the device and turn it... wipe it down with a wet wipe after each use... dont let them handle just have them touch the screen... This sounds like a good addition to also using sites like upwork for consulting services that require escrow.
It is possible to block other people to look through your transaction? I know it has users, but I don't know if you can block other users from seeing that financial information since I have employees. Thanks for the awesome vid.
Maria, I believe you can, when I had the larger device. I use to see Square (on their site) Videos showing how you could use it with multiple business locations... I could not see how you would not want to hide your information in a situation like that. This device seems like it would be a good add in to a system. Now I am telling you, I am not sure because I, and I alone use mine. I wish I had more reasons to use it and more people to use it for... lol it would mean more money for me... lol but I will tell you this my clients are loving this thing. And this that dont understand touch-less systems yet... that is me... I have it in my shop but I never pay for anything with my phone... call me old school, set in my ways, or lazy... I’m just getting comfortable with using Cards, lol why I want to put it in my phone... My wallet stay with me... I hate phones, lol... Can you buy just 1 square terminal to use in multiple locations with different ports or something?? or does this only work in 1 shop

To answer your question yes this runs off a battery so you could take it from shop to shop or even use it as a street vendor. If I am correct you can even take offline payments and they will all go through when you connect to WiFi or hard line internet. I use it only in one place so I might not be the best person to ask but I am almost certain I am correct on the matter. I love mine... lol I don’t feel you would be upset with it in anyway.... let me know if you get it, what you think and if it works. Thank you again and much respect... stay safe

I am trying to decide if I should use Square. I need a cash register and was thinking about getting an i-pad to use the Square program. Would I still need the terminal you just reviewed or does the stand come with a credit card terminal?

I am pretty sure you could set a cash drawer and a bar code scanner up to this... it has a USB hub that goes with it I just never used it so I forgot to put it in the video... I would not do the IPad... I did it that way and just slows everything down when you are using the Ipad for other things... Software updates from both Square and Apple... I never have to worry about updates with this one... it all comes from one place Square... Once again thanks for watching and even more for leaving a comment... They mean a lot to me... Have you considered clover by chance. You could save on interchange fees if your volume is more than $5000 a month by offering cash discount. You cut out the payment aggregator such as square, PayPal, or stripe and have your your own merchant account. Just a suggestion to consider. Great video
No I have never looked into clover. I have always just charged the fee to the client. Now I mainly go through my booking app to receive payments. I use the square for clients who don't pay through the app. Not nearly as many people as it use to be. I also use Zelle now when I have a client that has it and for my Renters. No Fee and it keeps a pretty good record directly in my account. there are so many ways to collect money these days. This Square has been great in the time that I have had it. Still going strong. OK. I have this exact thermal printer and I love it. But I dropped it on the floor and now can not get the door to shut all the way. So it says printer issue and does not print out receipts anymore. It does make the printer noise. Any suggestions Please?
I suggest send digital receipts 🧾. I have one in my shop and I have one at a part time job. Neither print. The one in my shop will proof just never bought more paper. I have never needed it. If someone wants a receipt I send it text or email. Not much requires paper these days. Even paper money that is the whole point of this product to me. To remove the need for paper. Does anyone know of a stylus pen that works with this terminal? Considering buying this terminal but won't if I can't use a pen on it. This is especially relevant now with covid.
Thank you for watching. I make my clients wash their hands before service and we use mask. But I understand your concerns, believe me I do. I would suggest just using cash app and have people pay your phone from they phone... I only say cash app because it is one that I know but I am sure there are several others that work the same. Can you process cash sale without a drawer connected and how is it done?
Sorry I have not tried to use this to process cash sales. I work with only even numbers so I never need this to tell me how much I owe or made. I can count how many heads I cut for the day and know how much I should have. I use to track cash sales with the older model square so I am almost certain it could to it, but I never have so I dont want to say yes... I wish I could tell you for certain but I cant at this moment. As well as this video seems to be doing I may need to do a update... thank you for the comment Victoria. Mike, I went through the App and set everything up, not hard at all. I do not use as many categories as most people will do with it... It was very easy to set up and I have had no problems with it since I switched over to it... I always wanted to. If I had a need for a cash draw I would get one. I don't do many cash transactions these days. My thoughts if I used a lot of cash I would get one. Hope this was helpful. Much Respect
Does this just connect to wifi or do you have to have the Ethernet cable?
Diamond, it does come with a cable to use a Ethernet cable... I just use WiFi because I would have to run the cable around the room or move the device... to answer you question though... you can use it with or with out either... even no connection will work if you take it somewhere... when you connect to internet the transactions are supposed to go through. I have not tried that yet, but I have had my system say it was offline and completed a transaction... I have had no problems to mention since I have had it... I just got mine today, but do you know how to print the entered day sales to keep record of it? I was using the touch less one via my iPhone but I’ve chosen to give out receipts. Specific for mature people who don’t get use to technology.

@@shawspeaks8252 Not a problem, I had already bought the device as well and I decided to watch a video on it because I personally don’t really like reading too much of the manual either I rather just watch a video about somebody who already had got it so this was the perfect video for that. Unfortunately though this beautiful device does not work well with the system that I already have so I will probably have to get the tablet version instead😑

Great video man you got me sold on it i'm getting one soon. Little piece of advice foe audio editing, space out the cuts a bit more. It seems like you are overlapping the cuts a bit more than you should so it doesn't sound as fluid as it should. Like you don't have enough space between sentences.

I am still working on this whole CZcams thing. Trying to get use to talking to a camera is hard. it almost feels like you are talking to yourself. The more I do it the more fun I have and the better my videos seem to be coming out. Its hard to make videos, I always find it easier when I do it about a product that I like. It just doesn't help that I am not really a Tech Guy I am just a guy who likes to make videos. I think I am just finding what I want to make them about... no body seems to be able to answer this question. Can a cash drawer and scanner be connected to this device?. Another one nobody seems to know is Does this terminal print receipts for cash sales as well as card sales? and will it do all that while paired to the virtual terminal for in person sales
yes with the hub that they sale on their site
Looks like it uses thermal paper. The same tech that is used in regular POS receipt printers. Thermal paper does have some downsides. For instance the quality of the text or any graphics may be at a low resolution such as 300 or 360 DPI, the printed text or graphics will fade with time and fade faster when exposed to heat or sunlight. There were improvements with thermal paper where it no longer had that slick or slimy feel early generations had.
Zero Ink aka Zink printers also use a type of thermal paper. But those tend to allow color printing to sheets or rolls of media. Nice little package.
