Sunak attempting to take credit on inflation when it's the Bank of England that really controls inflation, when inflation was over 10% Sunak was always saying that it wasn't down to the government, it was events out of their control with Covid, the price of oil, the war in Ukraine etc. Starmer put Sunak in his place by mentioning that "in 2008 he (Starmer) as DPP was putting terrorists in prisons whilst Sunak was making millions as broker betting on the markets which helped to crash the world's economy, "Tory party 1st, country 2nd, britain about to be the only major economy that no longer makes it's own steel, Sunak's free child care promises is nothing but a mirage, has he (Sunak) found time to work out why thousands of parents are being told by their nurseries that they won't get free child care that he promised them". Sunak tried to criticise Starmer on green policy when Sunak has cut green investment in renewable energy and issued more licences for shale gas and oil production - hardly green by the government.
Starmer replied to Sunak "There's only one party that crashed the economy and that's the party sitting right there opposite, he's Mr 25 tax rises and he's nothing to say on child care". Sunak goes on about how Labour would pay for childcare when the Tories have squandered £billions whilst in government.
"Families are Struggling with the cost of living crisis, trying to workout the household budget, balancing spiraling mortgages, prices and eye watering bills, and then at the last minute are thrown into chaos because their nurseries say that they can't the free childcare he (Sunak) promised". Sunak called it a practical issue, I (Starmer) "prefer the honesty of whichever of Sunak's colleagues briefed to the Times that it was and quote "a complete shit show". "When will the PM realise that the biggest practical issue facing britain is the constant farcical incompetence of the government he leads".
Sunak even had to bring out the old Corbyn soundbite out again because he couldn't/wouldn't answer a single question.
Sunak pounded again and against the ropes by Starmer.
The knockout will come when the GE is called and the Tories are obliterated in the GE.

Was stupid really. We don't want to repeat nonsense at all! And this has been nonsense beyond compare since boris, I'd say. The questions are just as shit though, kier will mention care situation, nhs, economy or rwanda then the actual question he asks is 'why are the tories so incompetent?' it's just a slag off show and it's an open ended question that doesn't need answering.
I haven't heard a specific question on policy and the reasoning behind it, I haven't heard any 'how are you going to do this' i mean ffs the first 3 questions they were slagging eachother off about the week's news headlines, taking jeers at anyone who got caught in the spotlight.
It's a joke, always has been, country has never been run by any of these clowns, its run by civil service which has been cut again and again by the tories leaving us in an incompetant state.

    • @scottwallbank4794

@@user-lw6zf4nu2h Agreed, it's just devolved on both sides. I think the precedence set by Bojo and followed by his successors has shown PMQs has become pointless. Its a waste of time for the opposition to ask questions if they won't get answered and just deflected away, and so it's become a slagging match.
I personally think this speaker is incredibly weak. If there was more of an effort to force the PM to answer a direct question, perhaps it wouldn't have got to where it is now.
