I enjoy your videos! Are you expecting rain from the hurricane? Funny, but I am hoping for a tropical wave to hit the Texas Gulf coast to give us a chance for rain Our last rain was .75 inches on July 3rd.
Is there an anti McLane hack? I have the opposite problem- my catcher sits too high or, at least, sits at too high of an angle. I'm cutting my Zorro Zoysia at 1.7 inches and can only make two passes before the clippings start tumbling back out of the catcher. Longer catcher arms are what I need to let the catcher sit lower or flatter.

Thank you for the comment. Yes we will be getting hit some rain according to the forecast. Maybe 1-2 inches which we never get during summer. As far as a anti hack, have you tried adjusting the catcher further back using the mounting bracket on the catcher. How often are you mowing? I know zoysia doesn’t grow at the same rate as Bermuda but curious if you are breaking the 1/3 rule and is why you have so many clippings?

Thank you for replying so quickly and with good questions! I was mowing the Zoysia every 3 days and was removing less than a fourth of the blade each mowing. My Zoysia is (or was) thick and very lush. The problem is the amount that the grass catcher hods before spilling out. To give you an idea of the volume it will hold, I can compare it to my Toro Super Recycler bag. The Toro bagger holds twice the volume of the McLane. I have the McLane roller support rod on the lowest hole on the frame so the mower tilts up at the front and that is a major contributing factor in the catcher spilling out to the back.@@dwaynesworldlawn

    Nice spreader
. Do you use the cone much?

I do actually. When i have a prill size either varies or is larger like when i used the Sta green natural fertilizer. For that fertilizer i turned the dial to a High number and move it to a lower setting when using pgf complete. It basically allows for better separation and better distribution of granular. I appreciate the comment and question!!! Thank you for your support !!! đŸ‘đŸ»

What adjustments did you make for the basket hook. Mine is not easy to remove basket. I have to over tilt forward to remove. Doing this of course, empty’s grass on the mower. Help. Also, do u have ideas how to turn this mower w/out scuffing the Bermuda. Wish they’d make this mower w a drum roller. Thx Dwayne

First and foremost, thank you for the question and comment. I remember when making the adjustment i needed to lengthen the arms meaning if i used the original position the basket would be too long. In the new position i would say that the back of the basket does sit at a higher angle which most likely affects the amount i can fill into the basket. I would say i do spill some of the grass out when taking the hooks off but always shake the basket after i remove the hooks to reposition the clipping further into the basket. I am not afraid to do this because i use the reel rollers grass topper and it will not spill out of the top.
I will say that i do empty the basket more frequently than others not because it fills up too fast but rather i don’t want to have so many clippings in the catcher to where it weighs it down and can change the hoc because of the weight. I’m always mindful of this as some people have experienced scalping when you have too much weight on the front of the mower.
As far as the rear wheel, i don’t have that issue very often unless it’s my fault. What i mean toward to end of each pass i raise the rear drop
Wheel and turn the mower and then when I’m
Lined up, i lower the rear wheel and they propel. If you press onto the clutch and drive the wheel before it makes contact with the ground it will dig into the turf. Also if you turn without lifting the drop wheel it can also teat up the turf. I hope this helps and feel free to email or respond in the comments if you have any additional questions đŸ‘đŸ»
