This video is PURE GOLD. To see how to service the filter valve AND a parts list with images and part number is incredibly valuable to the DIY homeowner. We love our pool but we were not ready for the highway robbery prices of the local pool companies. Thank you! I will be ordering o-rings and rebuilding my valve as we open our pool for the season. I have a leak in my backwash my pentair is a 272599 do you have parts ?
😢why I didn't see this video before I changed my gasket? I have watched a video where the guy put glue on a gasket before placing the top valve assembly. I repeated the same thing but I broke my handle by turning it because it was hard with the glue. Thank you so much for the details explanation. 👍🏽👏🏽
Wow, the detail and clarity of this repair video was exceptional. I made the repair step by step and had no problems and knew I was doing it properly. The old spider gasket was really in bad shape and needed replacing. I held my breath when I turned the system back on and everything was fine. The trickle water leak from the discharge pipe stopped. Thanks so much!

Ive owned a pool for 15 years and finally understand what backwashing really does. You have a customer!
My pool is leaking (flowing) out of the discharge/backwash hose when in filter setting. Do I need a whole new hiflow top?
You can replace the top or rebuild it, it really depends on the age and condition of the valve. Thanks for watching.

Hi Mark- question for you, but first thank you for your videos, they are super helpful! I have the 262506 sand filter as well. Water is spitting from the air relief valve (even when fully tighted to closed position). I replaced and lubed all the o-rings as you showed in your video. Still spitting water out of the relief valve. Anything else I should be looking for or another video that covers this type of issue? Thanks!
If you have already replaced the o-ring on the air relief valve, check the valve itself for any cracks. Thanks for watching.
Was having problems with water leaking out the backwash when I put it in filter. So I replaced the valve assembly. And the second I started the pump the new one did the same thing and the handle won’t go all the way down in the filter slot. Just dangled like the spring would not push it down. Help!!
Make sure that you have the assembly positioned properly on the valve. You should be able to push down on the handle and rotate all the way around and then let the handle pop into position. This should work and allow the assembly to set into position. If not you will have to remove the assembly and inspect it. Thanks for watching.
We're having an issue with our pentair tagelus ta60/60d. All of a sudden it's like it can't prime water and runs for a minute then sounds like it's trying to get water and goes back and forth.
It also sounds like water is spraying all over the top of the inside of the sand filter.
And when I shut the pump off, there's like a surge of back pressure and water shoots into the pool from the skimmer.
I turned it off. Does this sound like anything in particular?
(It's an in ground 20,000 gallon fiberglass pool with Century HST225 pump and Pentair Tagelus TA60/60D sand filter using Zeo sand, regularly maintained with proper water quality)

I was getting a little water in the waste pipe when on filter on this model. So I changed the diverter with built in gasket and still having some water go in the waste pipe. Any ideas?
Turn off the pump and rotate the handle around and let it pop back into the filter position. Sometimes when replacing the diverter you need to make sure the diverter lines up and sets in position. You may need to do this more than once. This should help, if not you may want to check your spring. Thanks for watching.
