Come on, this is not a true competition. The producers pick a favorite based on their preconceived scripts. In 2018, the winner was given fifteen extra minutes, after he dropped his bowl! Nobody else ever got a free pass after a disaster. Big surprise, he won! The producers made sure he got the prize. Who can watch this, after that?
We can watch it. It's just a tv baking competition presented primarily for entertainment, and not the Olympics. Nobody is competing for a job or money. They go home with a trophy shaped like a cake plate. We're all fine with it, really.
