In my 20s working for peanuts I had a Home and I bought Furniture on time. People now are furnishing their homes beautifully with thrift shop items or garage sale items or even just items that are given to them. There’s no excuse why anyone shouldn’t have anything in their house.
Cute! I can eventually see a cute new chandelier from Home Depot, lots of rugs and tall plants, and I would use easy peel wall paper to change the color of the cabinets. Love the space you’re in. You will get there, mama! I’m a stranger but I’m a new subscriber and a new supporter!

Wow!!! That looks like a great place to me and it doesn’t look like low income. It looks like all apartments I have seen and paying 1,500 dollars too. Each month. Unless it is in a really, really bad neighborhood you have it made…..You are very lucky. And what can possibly creep you out about sleeping in the bedroom? Just get a good lock for your main front door and maybe those little window alarms for all the windows. You can even buy those at the dollar tree. They work great. I had them before. Also, put some curtains up that you can’t see through but can open during the daytime for the wonderful sunlight. There’s lots of security type alarms that can be bought at Home DEPOT or Lowes that are easily removed later if you are renting.

Have you considered working a lot of hours, for just 1 year? At least 60 hours a week for 52 weeks. Make sure you save as much as you can. Use your savings to think about how to get to your next step in life. That's what I did. Your son will be fine. It's just 1 year.

I was going to say the same thing 😊 For some reason my cabinet’s smelled old and musty and the landlord had these air fresheners in them…I don’t want my food/dishes tasting like those cheap air fresheners (or any fragrance for that matter) that has like a jelly substance in them and you lift the cone shape up to release more fragrance 😅 Anyways girl you have the sweetest personality and I’m so happy for you and happy you found whatever was keeping you from sleeping in your room and got it out of your room. I’ve been on low housing before, it’s something to be thankful for as I know you are 🥰 I know how happy and thankful I was my son (now 25) and I had a home. Now I’m married (24yrs just this past January) to my amazing husband & we have 3 young adults children and 4 grandchildren (one set of twins). God bless you and your son 🙏🤍

Most of my furniture and decor is 2nd hand either from thrift stores, Craig’s List or FBMP. (I love my vintage shabby chic abode.) Just look for real wood that is paintable. Check beds/upholstery for bugs before buying. You can get better quality from these places for about a 1/4 the price of new cheaply made pieces. ❤
What a big apartment! Nice. Yes,bug spray! Buy powder boric acid and squirt around the edges under the sinks and behind the fridge to help stop roaches getting in.

I’m bigger than my refrigerator and stove oven and sink! Most important roof over your head. You have a washer and dryer hook up? Wow. I want your bathroom. I walk in mine. You just turn your body back toilet front sink left stall shower. Get your foot caught or fall medical bills.

The peel and stick on the counter could get messed up from the water, heat or hot pots, please be careful.
