He really didn’t want to believe this one. Columbo adored Nora, probably ignored obvious cracks in her story because he was so taken with her. He even tried to comfort her when she told him about the day she murdered her husband.
Anne Baxter’s acting, especially at the end, was marvellous.
The lieutenant loves these kinds of conclusions when he catches the author red-handed. He did it with Donald Pleasence, Johnny Cash or Robert Culp and many others.
I miss shows having the old soundtracks
I love her reaction when Columbo kicks on the lights.
It tickles me to no end! 😂
Hahaha!! Uahuhaa
Anne Baxter from that wonderful Golden era of Cinema. Notice all those photos of stars featured in that office scene? So neat they did that. I recognized so many.
Her face when he mentions someone would have to dig up the lawn is brilliant
Just watched last night. Really good episode!
ANNE BAXTER was gorgeous.
“Take care old frog, you croaked too much against Moses.”
Not too shabby for 50.
One of my favorites!
Nora Chandler is caught red-handed: watch how she uses all her feminine acting powers in a desperate attempt to distract the Lieutenant.
The final scene where Columbo reaches out to hold her arm as she describes the murder is so touching, then "I'll get a coat and we'll go" is the perfect line to end on. 👮📺👍
Excellent episode....
Excellent episode with the great Anne Baxter, with a cameo from iconic costume designer Edith Head. A must-watch episode from a viewer who has seen every episode. ❤
3:20 just incredible the skill of acting like you're acting but then acting that you have stopped acting.
This is the story of an actress who is acting for decades like she hadn't killed her husband, and finally didn't have to act that way anymore.
Just beautiful
5:25 she's falling apart, and Colombo tenderly touches her elbow and looks at her in the eye as she confesses...
Chef's kiss. Just incredible
I love these. There is something soothing about this show.
Excellent episode!!! 👍👍🙂
Columbo acts more like a private detective than a police lieutenant
Anyone remember the movie "The 10 Commandments". Anne Baxter played Queen Nefretiri of Egypt, and Peter Falk played her husband Pharaoh Ramesses II.
Frank Lloyd Wright's granddaughter.
So often when watching Columbo, I want to 'bad guy', in this case a beautiful woman, to get away with it. Even though she is clearly guilty. And the empathy which Columbo has for her, as she confesses, holding her arm.
Thanks
Anne Baxter in All About Eve. Wonderful performance.
I couldn’t concentrate on anything except how ill fitting her costumes were😁
She’s like time for a double vodka 🤪
All about Eve
We've come full circle, the end is soon , thx guy 😊
I was a bit sleepy when watching this whole episode the other day, so may have missed something. But the ending seemed a bit clunky. Sure, we were told earlier that she refused to leave her home etc. But it still felt a bit sudden, unlike some endings where all the little clues start to build.
She refused to leave sell her home because her dead husband was buried under the fountain. She ran to check to see if the fountain had been dug up when columbo showed her a Shriners ring (Which she thought was her husbands ring) and that Jerry parks was going to black mail her or knew about the body.
@@805NAVE Yeah. I think I caught all those bits. I think I missed why he went after the ring in the first place - despite remembering the "are you a Shriner?" bit.
👍
"I'll get a coat, and then we'll go."
"I'm not sure she's coming back Lieutenant."
What lovely chickens it.
how can you have "ending of requiem"?......wouldnt that be good?
my bad. im high.
You are lying
It's one of the few where you can't hardly blame the killer. 🫨
Those specific Columbo episodes could be most dramatically interesting.
