Cleaning eye glasses with an Ultrasonic Cleaner

Eye glasses get dirty and they can be difficult to clean, especially around the nose bridges.
In this video we review a typically ultrasonic cleaner that can be ordered from Amazon and see how effective it is at cleaning glasses.

Interesting video. My wife has been deevin for one of those machines for the same reason and to clean her jewellery but I didn't think they were worth it. Looks like I was wrong. £45 seems good value.

The instructions for this says to only use the basket for delicate jewellery as the basket stops 30-40% of its effectiveness.

What about using detergent like dawn dishwashing detergent?

Yes instructions say you can use dish detergent with a typical mixing ratio of one part to ten parts water.
Then run again after for another 90 seconds with water to remove residual cleaning solution.

I heard some complaining ultrasound cleaners damaged glasses such as removing glass coats (e.g., UV one) or even destroying lenses themselves by damaging lens surface?
