The musical opened at Her Majesty’s Theatre on 9 October 1986 with Michael Crawford and Sarah Brightman in the leading roles, and there have been dozens of productions worldwide since then. Now in its 30th record-breaking year, The Phantom of the Opera continues to captivate audiences at Her Majesty’s Theatre in London’s West End, after more than 11,000 performances.

Phantom is as much a part of New York City as any landmark, skyscraper, or “insert tradition here”. Multiple generations have now fallen in love with this greatest of all Broadway long running hits. I’ve seen the show more times than I can count and each and every time I walk out of the Majestic Theater I always leave feeling like I’ve just completed the most perfect of Broadway evenings. To the cast and crew that work so tirelessly to keep this show going I thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love the musical phantom of the opera 😍 then the movie came out and fell in love more.
