That night when the chandelier rose once again, the crowds went wild! I'm lucky enough to be at the opening night and will remember that day forever!
I couldn’t be more jealous!
I am very happy for you, my fellow Phantom Phan!
I was lucky enough to have a seat at this premiere, very close to the stage. It was such a wonderful experience. You could really feel that everybody was playing their heart out! Thank you!!!
I am very happy for you, my fellow Phantom Phan! I can not imagine what the first Show back on Broadway in New York City was like! Phantom Phans everywhere are rejoicing!!!
@@christinedaae7323 thank you
I’m a trained light lyric soprano
What does that mean?
When I was 18, I went to London from Japan to watch this show, all by myself.
Those were brilliant and unforgettable days.
And I’m so happy to hear that Phantom reopened finally.
I’m looking forward to the day when I will be able to watch this show again in Her Majesty’s Theatre.
Every single part of this musical, specially The Music of The Night, makes me cry of happiness everytime... they were all amazing actors. It's aways possible to feel all the feelings and emotions, this story, this musical, changed my life forever ❤️
So true. My dream man, would be able to sing Music of the Night for me. Audition for potential partners lol
the music of the night and angel of music is my favorites
This made me so emotional. I've loved phantom for many, many years and I hope I get to play Christine one day. I'm 18 in a couple months and I'm working my butt off to one day play this role and many more roles in theatre and film ❤️ Thank you Lucy st louis for giving me and many poc hope again 🙏✨❤️
Go for it! 🙌
@@katesykesUK thank you!! ❤️ And thank you for subscribing 🙏✨

I need this Christine’s version of this soundtrack. Her voice is INSANE. I CRIED DUE TO SHEER AMAZEMENT
I want to see this in person so bad!!!

@@Calcy2012 me three. Perhaps I could bring the opera glasses.
@@stacysaint-ilma781 me four! If I could get my cosplay done, I'd so go in costume
haha L imagine not being able to see it on opening night
It truly brought tears to my eyes when I saw the livestream of the final bow and it was absolutely beautiful 🥺 I have always dreamed of playing Christine and now that I'm 17 I wish for it more and more and Lucy is such a big inspiration for me 🥰
I would die to able to see this live!!!
Yepp, that is my greatest dream too!
We NEED a recording from this production!! Everyone was amazing to see live, and Lucy St. Louis stole my heart especially. I know she will go down as one of the best Christines to have ever played! Her voice and acting is breathtaking and she embodies Christine!
How exciting! Right where the show belongs. Lucy is absolutely stunning. Standing ovations only. 🌹❤️🌹
I'm 🇮🇹 Italian fan and I adore The phantom and I would to look this masterpiece in London. Andrew Lloyd Weber is a genius 💜
So beautiful to see all these happy people being able to do what they love most again.
we went last Monday, third row seats. it was amazing, so brilliant, so emotional, I welled up with tears at the end.
The acting, singing, music all top class.
The applause at the end with a standing ovation lasted for ages and when the phantom (Killian) took a bow it was off the scale. I'm welling up now with emotion.
All the staff at her majesty's theatre were polite, classy and helpful, the door staff , bar staff, Ice cream seller, gifts seller, everyone.
Thank you so much for a wonderful unforgettable evening.
I'm so happy right now... Happy the show is back, happy for the cast, happy at the first (absolutely gorgeous) black Christine! So many wonderful things happening here!
I’ve wanted to see phantom for 20 years. Finally saw it last week with this cast and oh my god it was incredible. All I had hoped and more
Ohhhh…..This makes my heart SO happy!!! ❤️❤️❤️
Best news I've heard all morning!
3:12 when she said that she made my day I love the phantom of the Opera and I always wanted to play as Christine she makes me want to practice even harder 🥺 thank you now I don't scared 💐
So I would love to read more comments from any of you guys experiencing these first shows post pandemic. Tell me all about the crowds going wild snd clapping during the overture!
This is so exciting! And Lucy is just radiant. ❤️
What a beautiful Christine 💖
Dear Andrew and Cameron, I am so proud of you and all the creative team.
Well done Killian Donnelly for your dreams coming true, and congratulations to all the cast for what I’m sure was an incredible unforgettable evening. Love, Jeff Leyton.
Everyone should be thanked except for Cameron. He made ridiculous changes to the Chandelier, procenium, lyrics, and made the orchestra insanley smaller! Remember the iconic angel that used to be at the top of the procenium? Well guess what, thats gone! The chandelier is also different. He took Maria's original design's and threw them away. The cast is amazing, but these changes suck!
Love you Jeff! If only I could time travel and watch you as Valjean!
Love this opera always been a favorite of mine so wished I could see it in person
I would die if I got to stand next to Andrew Lloyd Webber. This is my dream! I hope to be up there someday. I’m so glad that they have Lucy St. Louis and all of these amazing actors and singers performing it now for people. They definitely set the bar high. I hope to at least get close to this. This is definitely a dream come true for her. I love hearing her experience and other Christine’s who started out like me, a girl with a dream. It gives me hope and faith that someday, that could possibly be me. People like Lucy St. Louis and Sierra Boggess make me want to work even harder because they help me to see what it takes to do this role, a role I have been wanting to do for since I was four years old. Amazing job to everyone in the cast and crew. I wish I could have seen it with my own eyes but even small clips like this never fail to amaze me. Sending love and support to all Broadway actors and actresses. 🖤🥀
So glad to see it back again. Seeing this show when I was 8 sparked a love of performing that I am honoured enough to be able to endulge. Thank you ALW, CM and everyone for bring this masterpiece back on stage. Let's hope the Broadway production gets a revival too.
I’m coming back in to the phantom of the opera concert at my new house on Saturday 4 of June and Saturday 7 of January 2023
I was there 2001 November!! Greatest thrill ever!!
I would love to see this wonderfull show again.
This had me welling up! What an amazing feeling it must’ve been for everyone!
Yes she made me teary eyed and I have to explain myself at work now!
This is to teach some people to NEVER judge a book by its cover
This was incredibly touching to watch. I'm so happy for them. (8/11/2021)
I watched this Monday (tickets were a 21st birthday gift), and the alternate Christine was on. Although I wished I could have seen Lucy, the show was still so magnificent and I cried just from hearing the music start at the beginning...Killian was simply incredible, and Christine's alternate was amazing too! I could go on and on about it but overall I'm just so, so glad that Phantom is back and that I was able to see it. I'd have gone back the next day just to see it again if I was able to
A black Christine! Thank you lord!!!
In tears. Truly amazing:)
I wish I can play Cristine
Ull always be my.cristine
I'm going with my school in September because this is my school's preformance
Phantom Returns to Her Majesty's Theatre

loving all the casting here! anyone else notice Carlotta? very cool
i'd love to see the complete show :(
I was lucky enough to see Phantom and this cast and it was just pure magic.
Will they film the 35th anniversary?
*cries in malaysian* (it's because we don't actually have theatre musical here so-)
Saw it today fucking amazing blown away I finally watch it after seeing Michael crawford xx🤗
He was a amazing xx
0:17 Welcome Back To London Mr Phantom Of The Opera. Mr Bean And James Bond 007 Are Excepting You. X
Absolutely brilliant show. Whole cast are electric. Well done one and all 👍
I saw this the Tuesday just gone and my word it was amazing! I've always loved POTO but seeing it again with the new show was fantastic. I was sat in the middle of the stalls and the chandelier was almost close enough to touch during the prologue and very close at the fall!
I saw this three weeks ago, so wonderful
Welcome back, Phantom!
Ok have tears now you were all fantastic the atmosphere was incredible we are in this video weird seeing yourself lol But what a fantastic memory Especially on an iconic moment for Lucy. The moment the Phantom came on well no voice left by the time the show was over
Welcome back, West End Company!!!!!
Went last night and it was spectacular!
Cant wait to go one day!!
I am ABSOLUTELY BEYOND EXITED to be coming to see the show in November 😍😍😍 thank you for bringing this back and allowing me this opportunity to see the one opera that I have wanted to see for over 10 years now as I though I wouldn't be able to after seeing the announcement that it was going to stop production, but you have brought my dream back and I'm taking this opportunity. You all look amazing. I cant wait!
Good to see Charlie Hart.
ahhhh i’m so excited
This is wonderful!
Is that Andrew Lloyd Webber in this video as well?!
The most magical production!❤️
I was worried and told that PoO was going to shut down for good, glad that it hasn't.
Got me choked up.
😁😁😁😁 i'm so HAPPY 😄😄😄😄😄
Nice
You were absolutely perfect last weekend!
Good stuff!
Congratulations to the first African woman to play Christine Daae.
This is so heartwarming!
YES
So awesome 👏🏾 & congratulations to Lucy St. Louis on being the first black woman to play the role of Christine. Representation means so much 🥲❤️🤗🎉🎊🍾🎈
It was an amazing night! I'm so grateful to have been there. Killian Donnelly talks about being nervous being in front of an audience again, and wondering what it will be like; well, when he first appeared in the mirror, everyone cheered! Ah, it was such a moment!
The fact that the makeup artist is wearing a MESH mask shows you just how utterly ridiculous this COVID theatre has become.
So can Rita Simmons play sister Mary Clarence in Sister Act?
😍😍😍
I love the new set and chandelier! I am soooooooo happy.
🥺🥺🥺
Christine Daee: "1st black woman like me."
Me: Oh! Christine, u were fantastic. I didn't see that i see a beautiful Woman, Named Christine Daee.
Oh, you lucky devils....I really missed all this. Can wait for the whole world to be open again.
✌🏻✌🏻✌🏻👍
Cup of tea - how british
ok
First!!
So, it's the restaged tour. 🙄 Bring back all the old wigs, the crew you cut, the doubles for the title song, the proscenium, the angel, the chandelier... and bring back every single musician and ensemble member you fired callously over ZOOM. Maybe then I'll consider seeing it. Phillip Griffiths was with you for over 30 YEARS. SHAME ON YOU.
Completely agree.
I agree. I cannot believe that Andrew let him do this. And Maria would NEVER let him change her designs.
@@noahluhtjarv7110 Hal also must be rolling in his grave. What a disgrace, all of it.
Uh, the chandelier is still there. It's literally in the video.
@@rebekahsegun8319 Yeah no, honey. It's the garbage tour chandelier. Not Ruthie I. :')
How shit is the 14 person orchestra? Probably sounds like an elementary school production now.
It sounds muted and empty. Woodwinds reduced, harpist eliminated.
It’s an absolute disgrace, but sadly the way things have been going in west end pits for years (less so on Broadway I believe?). Billionaire producers that only really care about their bottom line and not about their cast/creatives (I have seen this from the inside for 30 years). A recent MD Symposium featuring many of the worlds top MDs and supervisors all said the same (so it’s not just me). That includes those responsible for the biggest shows of the past 40-50 years on stage and on film/audio.
It sounds fine.
Why did they have to change the chandelier, and the procenium??? The original was perfect, Cameron Mackentosh has gone too far!
Nope. It didn't return. The original production was butchered and closed. This is not THE Phantom of the Opera. It's a phantom of what it was.
Interesting isn't it how the lead role for the 'best show in the west end' feels the need to point out the amount of melanin present in her skin: if you were the best voice at audition it shouldn't matter should it? Unless of course there is some other agenda here?
A new version of a franchise (that has grossed more cash than star wars), has deviated. No longer needing to be historically accurate manipulating certain characters for no apparent reason.
If this is an effort to update and 'woke out' the whole show perhaps the phantoms disfigurement (his disability; which i hasten to add is the root for his exile and apparent madness) should be revealed. Should a modern production not also incorporate a body positive attitude? and if so why is it hiding a scar?
Cameron Mackintosh are clearly struggling for cash; laying off all their staff during lockdown. The reduction in orchestra was a mistake. Clearly short of quality staff in the make up department too; there are a lot of very good MUA out there who can blend in a bald cap better than this.
brilliant show, but not the same.
"Interesting isn't it how the lead role for the 'best show in the west end' feels the need to point out the amount of melanin present in her skin: if you were the best voice at audition it shouldn't matter should it?"
Well, given that the "amount of melanin present in her skin" would have *disqualified* her from even auditioning over the years, yeah, I'd say it's a big deal.
@@seattlesusieq6945 don't be ridiculous, this is England.
Wow this is truly incredible the amount of passion they put into this show is immense and I just love the phantoms mask and hopefully I will be able to see the deformity. @thephamtomoftheopera
