Thanks for the great video. It will come in handy for the work I am doing on my 1970 FJ40
I'm glad it wasn't a silent video. Explaining the welding process should help me on my fj40 project. I wish you could have finished the other body so I could have picked up other tips. I understand that you did what was best for you
I GREATLY appreciate the information on the sizes, type, and grit of your metal prep media!
Great restoration methode and enjoy with fj40 1f,
Such a great job! Thanks God for guys like you. But it'll be better to restore its original body. And it's a pity that we have no the same restoration projects of FJ40's in Russia. Great car. VAZ, GAZ and little less american and japanese old cars.
Nice work..liked the technic, thanks
Good update video. I still look forward to new content from you.
Thanks, and Woof to Walter.
Excellent step by step tutorial. I have to do similar job on my YJ. Driver side floor pan. Will especially note the welding tips as I approach the job. Thanks Jared
I was at a Culver's with my nephew last
Summer and and FJ restored with a modern
Motor drove bye us outside waiting inline for drive thru. Pic up it was fabulous looking.
I recently did a complete frame off restoration of a 50’s CJ5 to original condition except for modern bed liner on the bottom and wheel wells. I drive this Willys on a private island without roads. The bed liner has held up great and keeps sound down as well.
What a great idea using the panel from the ‘72. Those nooks and crannies in all cars are always the source of rust problems. On some areas like inside doors some people pour some ATF for it to penetrate those areas and you are set. On areas such as this one it’s more difficult. I wonder if seam sealing those ares would help. Walter is the sweetest thing…🐶🥰
Greets from Germany! Doin the Same on my fj40 🇯🇵
It’s common thing to do on these FJs
Walter! Walter! Walter!
Perfect repair 👍
Liked your job! Well done and thanks for sharing your experience!👍🏼🙏
Great stuff. Glad to see you're back on a 40.
I can't wait to see your next vid
I, too, am restoring a 70 frame motor Trans to a 77 tube and body. Doors still 70 all doors. I don't see that as an issue please, tell me if so. Mine is also fuel injection, and I have no idea what I'm doing, so the video you did somewhat helped me. My problem now is with column 3 on tree to the floor. I will message you if you don't mind helping me please
I'm doing this for my landlord, so I have a place to live. I am a general contractor, or was that is until the pandemic. I lost everything, went from self-employed, having 6 employees to being unemployed, and then soon homeless. But ha at 55, I can't just give up. I need to try to regain something to retire on, and I still have my health, right? Anyway, thanks for sharing your talents. I couldn't do it without those videos. I'm Jeff, by the way. Now get that next video out there so I, too, can get to driving and returning it to the owner. Lol piece out, brother FJ
OUTSTANDING! I always love have clear, well explained, and methodical your videos are. Thank you - Sno Dawg
Love the 40 and 60 series !
Awesome! Walter looks good! Thanks for sharing this.
Excellent steps through. Will you be welding the support underneath back?
I’m not reusing the supports. They seem to cause more problems then they solve. The later FJs didn’t have them.
Great job! Had a 1963 in same color, in 1992. Thought it was old then!
Where’s the ac install video?
Very good tips. Thanks for the video. Nice job.
So happy to see this series to continue!
Appreciate the step by step. How much time overall would you say the work in this video took?
It took about 4-6 hours
Amazing work!
So happy to see another video and also Walter!
Holes ... Weld in some carriage bolts and gerrrrzt
Fine work... Better than factory
Perhaps a rubberized undercoating in the wheel wells can offer additional protection against rust inhibition?
I plan on spraying the same tinted bedliner in the fender wells as I use in the interior
Yeah! More content! Keep at it.
👍👍✌️
Walter!
👍💪✌
L I K E 👍👍👍👍👍👍💥💯💥💯💥💯💥🤩🤩🤩🤩🤩
Weld through primer? It was never meant to be a top coat like that and due to its high zinc content, paint won’t adhere to it properly.
It what I had on hand. Most of it was sanded off before the primer sealer was sprayed down anyway.
