Distance doesn't really matter when youre talking about lead. Don't ever listen to someone who will tell you in feet and inches.
You just need to build your own lead picture in your mind - whats a little, some, or alot.
Focus on if the target is quartering in, quartering out, or crossing.
Quartering birds don't require very much lead - usually somewhere between a little and some.
Crossers usually require alot.
You need to learn for yourself what a little, some, or alot is.
And... chokes don't matter, unless youre hunting. You can hit anything with a cylinder or skeet choke. If you missed, it's because you put the pellets in the wrong spot.

Mixed with skeet choke, anything up to 50 yards usually you’re good, I’ve shot some at 60 and I switched my skeet to a mod.
Wow, can't disagree more. Distance totally matters. Although, I only waterfowl and there's a massive distance in both the length of time it takes for the shot to get there, the energy it has, and the lead you have to give it. This "what's a little, some, lot", is totally able to be expressed as a measurement in feet (not likely inches). Chokes totally matter, do some pattern testing and see for yourself.
@@sillystupidusername1 I disagree with the lead but agree with the chokes, I shoot the same with an ic and mod than with an ic and skeet. Ed Solomon also proved that the skeet choke was sufficient up to 60+ yards.

The ShotKam Camera Can be adjusted at home, using a smart phone or laptop. The empty gun is focused on a fixed target, approximately 30 yards away. ShotKam app allows the user to select a single red dot or the crosshairs and adjust these to the point of aim.

So speed of clay doesn't make a difference it's only distance
Not only the speed of target but also the speed of your swing, even the speed of the cartridge all have a bearing. The video is nonsense.
Having said that I see on closer inspection they are using the sustained lead method, ok on some clay targets but not really practical in the field, not a method I would recommend getting into.
Speed , Angle, distance determines lead nothing else
Speed of clay certainly does make a difference to the lead picture to hit it, as the speed of SG pellets can *generally* be assumed to be constant. It therefore takes longer to meet the clay at greater distance, so you have to increase lead to compensate for the time to reach it. Shot string widens this tolerance, but sufficient shot needs to impact the clay where energy falls away (e.g.275m is the recognised 'safe' distance if directly pointing and shooting a shotgun at a person, with a 28g load and max. shot size 6).
Increased *speed* of clay also increases necessary lead for precisely the same reason.
The video merely offers a starting ballpark if you're trying to find the clay, but you'll never get far by always 'measuring'. The correct technique is to keep your eye locked on the leading edge of the clay (not the bead), apply lead, and shoot when it 'feels' right whilst keeping the gun moving and cheek planted on the stock.
This trains the subconscious that can typically perform the same subjective calculations in 5ms that would take the conscious (thinking) part of the brain to achieve in 200-400ms. No contest...
@@billbo7630 at 40 yards, all shot ends up going the same speed regardless of how fast it came out of the barrel.
