- Welcome to Baldurs Gate 3 where today I am going to be seeing if I can beat Baldur's Gate 3 with a gun and a copious amount of exploits and fun. Today The Spiffing Brit will be investigating if baldurs gate 3 is a perfectly balanced game with no exploits or if the existence of infinite money exploits and speedrunning strategies might make it a bit easier to beat than previously expected. In todays video we will be showcasing some of my favourite Glitches, mods, exploits and bugs that allow you to bypass a huge section of the game.
If this video inspired you to try speed running BG3 then I recommend you checkout the speed running discord they have: / discord

What you have seen here today is part of a fantastic perfectly balanced gameplay series on youtube where I go from game to game and break them with wacky exploits to gain things like unlimited gold and infinite money all in a fantastic montage. If you enjoyed this then be sure to check out more. The style is similar to RT game and callmekevin in parts. A large influence on this series has come from Valefisk and The Killian Experience.

Title: Can I Beat BG3 With A GUN? - Baldur's Gate 3 Is A Perfectly Balanced Game With No Exploits
#game #glitch #baldursgate3 - Hry
*Nobody Expects The Goblin with the Gatling Gun!*
Shadowheart supremacy
Imagine not having free healthcare 💀
I don't think anyone would.
Oh most lovely Spiff, would you be so kind as to include a modlist? I'm very curious about the modded firearms, and the extended ancestries.
Does this mean it's now official DnD canon?
imagine creating a game so good that Spiff has to mod in stuff in order to exploit it. Todd Howard could learn something from this!!
Todd Howard shrugged
I mean you don't have to mod it to exploit it. I just have played the game so much I wanted a fresh experience
Five words: owlbear from the high rope
Todd Howard’s games just have more hidden features. Not sure what you’re talking about with bugs
E
Even with a gun Shadowheart still can’t land a hit.
Some things never change
My Shadowheart only become capable of hitting anything once I stole those Gaunlets of Strenght at the House of Hope or when I gave her an elixir of strenght before that.
She's trying to use a crossbow in melee with her only bonus to hit being +1 from having 13 dexterity.
@@MrGhosta5 It’s not a crossbow it’s a shotgun with 5 of range.
if you want her to hit things you need to respec her points from dex to strengh (or from strengh to dex if you want to use ranged/finesse weapons) and not use the firebolt cantrip as it's a intelligence roll, she'll be way better that way
"As a British person, I can very easily get behind child murder." - The Spiffing Brit 2023 10:29
Spiffing brit is William afton confirmed
To be fair as a Skyrim player i can also get behind child murder
"You mean a Goblin, right? Spiff, you mean a *Goblin* right?!"
If you change your difficulty settings back and forth a few times it will fully heal your party, it will also heal your enemies if you do it in combat.
E
That explains it. That's a good exploit prevention measure in combat.
What if you kill an enemy, use the exploit, and repeat?@@sharkhammr
You can use this strategically! Free heal after you’ve already killed off an enemy or when you need to heal and you’re sure you can finish off that enemy in that turn
@@afatchimp it works just fine, plus from my experience, the enemies might heal a bit less than your party members.
One of my favourite RPGs ever does this. Albion (1996) has you starting off on a spaceship before crashing on a planet of monsters and magic. You can get a pistol at the start of the game which is the best weapon in the entire game by a long margin. Only problem is bullets don't exist on Albion, so you only have the ammo you bring with you and no more (at least right until the very end of the game)
Most powerful weapon in the game with incredibly limited ammo: "Miss! Miss! Miss! Miss! Miss!"
E
Somehow managed to read that as "one of my favourite RPGs ever doesn't exist" 😂
Now i have to play it.
Ah, the item that's too good to use. A classic RPG trope.
At least it remains the best item though, so you can save it for the end of the game. Unlike an item that's really good but will suddenly get outclassed in the mid-late game meaning you completely wasted your overpowered early game item (or worse yet, it has a maximum level requirement and becomes worthless - looking at you Bag of Marbles and Really Sticky Glue from WoW).
I saw the thumbnail and said out loud, 'who gave Shadowheart a gun?' Then i saw it was Spiff and it all made sense
As a guy whose current DnD character is a goblin gunslinger, I approve of this character. Granted, Roland's guns of choice are dual pistols and a shotgun that flings him back 10ft when he fires, but it's the gobbo solidarity that counts.
Ah yes, The Disengagement Gun. Who needs an action to disengage when you can just ensure the enemy's too full of lead to make an attack
@@ashsuna7774 if you only knew how many combat encounters it took me to realize that use you'd want to pull my DnD Nerd card. But yes, we call it the Buckshot Retreat Maneuver.
honestly there is something wonderful about tiny goblins with big guns
gunslinger named Roland never heard that one before
Tactical AND deadly
The goblin way
I can't believe they managed to bring the speedrun to less than 4min using this exploit. This is incredible.
E
@@EEEEEEEE Sometimes when the thing you're doing hasn't been working for multiple years it is ok to give up trying.
I'm not trying to be rude, I just want you to try and grow so you can eventually successfully do what you've been trying to do for ... I don't want to say years because it sounds mean but it is also accurate... tl;dr innovate

As a fan of the letter E, I agree with you. They're abusing the power of E.
@@ElysetheEevee Eevee starts with E, They're one of the coolest pokemon.
This is good. We are like minded and respect the power of E.
Imagine how terrifying the player character would be if Spiff was the omnipresent voice in their head instead of the custom one you make at the start of the game.
Imagine if he was the narrator:
"Ah yes, a Nautiloid ship. Splendid. Now let's just get out of here real quick by using this cheesy little exploit that the Mindflayers put into all their ships to make them perfectly balanced."
It's not exactly his voice, but dark urge is almost the same
Can we convince Spiff to voice a mod? I hope so
I smell a mod here somewhere...

The Gun is just what I call Karlach's gorgeous throwing arm.
E
Yup, and she's dual-wielding!
Pike of returning + ring of throwing + multiple attacks goes crazy. you average like 30 damage a turn before the Goblin Camp
@@bobbycasey7176 Throw Tavern Brawler onto that at lvl 4 with Enraged Throw and you get a one-woman yeet parade of doom. I've been enjoying the shit outta that build. 😂

Massive missed opportunity not calling this Bauldur's Gat
That's so true.
😂
Shadowheart hates wolves due to her backstory so she has to make saving throws for fear against wolves any time she is near one for more than a few minutes. If she fails one she becomes frightened. That is why she was frightened when they attacked Kagha.

Yes and if you pick The Dark Urge character, you might accidentally cut his hand off entirely 😭
@@hannahw7023 "I cast Mage Hand" *Throws Gales Hand at an enemy*
Speedrunning with Gale is indeed an absolute blast.
That’s a funny pun
I see what you did there :D
FYI even without using mods, there are a couple of really funny exploits in the game, some got patched over time. For example, on release, you could recruit every single party member, even have both Minthara and Halsin in the game, however by doing so, Minthara is kind of broken and any time you make her go back to the camp and back to the team, you generate extra 4 Mindflayer Tadpoles or at least, however many Minthara had in her head. This allows you to have a party with all illithid powers right from the act 1.
But that's not all, some buffs that were meant to be only for the limited time, can be permanent. Idol of Sylvanus' buff can actually work for the entire game, you just need to remember to always send it to a camp before long rest, take long rest, take all from the camp box and leaving camp (selecting idol without TAKE ALL will make everyone hostile, it's a bug they still havent fixed). Lathander's Morninglight buff from finishing it's puzzle is amazing because as long as you give it to a party member, have them replaced in camp, you gain it permanently on every non MC companion, you just need to send them to camp, add them back and boom, they have +1 light damage, not much, but there are special items that work specifically if you deal at least 1 light damage, so it already allows the game to be broken.
Also the Essence of Mana was weirdly coded, if you keep turning it on and off and then taking the item that gives it to you, you gain infinite spell slots, this allowed my Bard to solo the game on tactician because it was just that broken.
The idol of sylvanus losing its buff was unintentional, the most recent patch fixed it to always work the entirety of the game without having to do the exploit so players can just leave it in their inventory
Idol of sylvanus is supposed to be permanent.
It's a game perfect for exploits, don't need mods at all.
Just get some potions of Angelic Reprieve, get a sorcerer and start converting spell slots 1 and 2 into sorcer points, after that start creating lvl 2 spell slots and repeat for as long as you want.
Once you're out of sorcer points, simply drink potion of Angelic Reprieve and you FILL all of those lvl 1 or 2 spell slots you created. Start converting those into sorcery points and once you're done, start making lvl 6 spell slots and cast highest tier magic as much as you want.
It's a long process and it dissapears after long rest, but it is hella op.
Shadowheart missing at point blank range with a shotgun is exactly how I expected that to go.
"Took me over 50 hours to complete the first time" Brit trying to say that he took long... DUDE that's basically a speedrun wtf. That's super fast xD
took me like 48h to beat it first time also on tactician. I did everything in act 1 and 2, act 3 got me really tired so I only finished shadowhearts quest, wulben, laezel, and wyll quests + ansur, with some smaller side quests done aswell. I feel like some people just do something else while the game is running so that they get these crazy numbers like 50h in act 1 lol
@@MrSuvvri Crazy numbers? o.O I spent over 80 hours in act 1 and played actively the whole time. Just wanted to discover everything. I'm wondering if people who are so fast just run through without looking left or right and miss half of the content lol. I don't know how it would be possible otherwise.
@@colorfulsomething5008 i did every quest that was possible in act 1 (well except helping nere because i forgot and he died under the rubble and also didnt side with the gobos), explored everything possible because i hate missing stuff and then learning about op items that i could have found if i explored. Still missed the area in grymforge where all the mimics were for my first 3 playthroughs lol
@@MrSuvvri Wow that' really fast. Respect :D
IKR I WAS 50 hours when i finished act 1...
Actually maybe around 60. Im not sure how people go so fast
Since the rapid fire "gun" is just a modified magic missile (still listed as a evocation spell in the tool tip) that means a level 10 evocation wizard should be able to add a flat +5 to each shot with 20 INT lol. Killed the second phase of Ketheric's fight in two turns just using lvl 5 magic missiles, the lightning charge staff, and haste and that was 8 shots per cast (using the amulet that gives you an extra missile per cast).
Yeah this was not one of his better uploads.

The fact that Boblin is probably a legit goblin name larian could have been considering makes this all the more perfect.

@@devilmikey00 with the right items and the right multi class still amazing it is still easy to deal 50-100+ damage in one round
Spiff thinking the fandom is thirsty for Shadowheart hasn’t seen the fandoms reaction to Astarion.
Being able to play a Goblin, Hobgoblin or Bugbear should be acceptable if you can play as a Drow. Same is true with a full-Orc as you can play as a Grey Orc in Neverwinter Nights which is set in the same reality as Baldur's Gate.
I suspect it’ll either be dlc or a modding kit released later that adds even more capabilities to modders
Spiff if you wonder why your shove action is missing, it is a bug with the mystical creatures (minotaur races) mod that actually removes shove so better dont use the mod till it get patched (will corrupt save)
Idk if anyone has said anything (probably has) but there is an exploit that if you pause and change the difficulty back and forth you fully reset your health to max. Granted this causes the enemies to also heal so it’s kinda an double edge sword
double edged medpack
Sounds like a trick for post battle recovery
The best part is that Faerun does actually have gunpowder. Its even in the game- called smokepowder. They just use it for hand grenades and fireworks only. WOTC just really doesn't want guns in their clearly *early modern* fantasy setting, despite earlier editions and the most popular in for people these days (critical role) having gunslingers. There are published 5e rules for guns, burried in the DMG.
To be fair, guns aren't interesting.
@@AlbinoMothDragon IDK, I find flintlocks interesting enough in a medieval fantasy world. I don't know who crossbows are somehow more interesting than a gun.
@@dhgmrz17I agree, ban crossbows.

This is good, too.
For healing, just change the difficulty of the game and then change it back, example from easy to tactician and then back to easy from tactician. This will heal your party, just as the game intended.

the video was more about the box teleport, the "gun" was just a gimmick. I guess it makes for a better thumbnail though.
@@korenn9381 I still don't understand how Spiff got it though. Must you play as a goblin bard and how was he able to cast top level magic missle at level 1?
@@JasonConroy he installed a mod that gives you access to these overpowered weapons right from the start. These weapons give level 6 magic missile as a permanent action, among other things.
This game is so fucking good, I've been playing for over a month and only just beaten Act 1, it's one of my favourite games for sure, up there with HOMM3 and Spore.
I tried Divinity: Original Sin before BG3.
It was very cool, and I recommend if you didn't played yet.
You will miss a lot of QOL things, sure, but the plot and encounters, voice acting... everything very cool.
Words cannot express how much I want Boblin - with Spiffing Brit's very british narration still in place - meeting SmuckSquad's Goblin Slayer. Its the sort of crossover that's born in the depths of hell and should not work but I have full faith that with some Yorkshire Tea we can pull it off.
Exactly what id expect spiff to do in a fantasy game something tells me he really likes miniguns
Another glorious day when spiff uploads!

"If it weren't for me, you'd be completely flooded with Goblins" -An invading Goblin
Playing as a Seldarine Artificer, I can certainly get behind shooting Khaga! The artificer mod works rather well and the moment she called my drow a "Blessed child of lolth" I chose violence.
Silly shadowheart, hitting a door with a mace while she could just riddle it with bullets from a machine gun.
She’ll still miss every shot
"Shadowheart, I believe in you!"
Said no one except Spiff ever
Her starting attribute scores are really bad. She has a bunch of points wasted on attributes she doesn't use.
I mean... I built her into a tempest/storm unstoppable goddess of lightning who could easily solo the game ...but yeah, sacred flame is horribly inaccurate. I'll grant that much.

Honestly, never thought about throwing a potion on the ground between all your allies to heal everyone at once, like a health grenade. This is actually super useful, might try an alchemist support/grenade build 😂
Only way I've survived tactician

I feel you on modding for a fresh experience after a few hundred hours, but it's hilarious that for me it's playing an Aasimar and for you it's a goblin with a gun 😂
I was hoping you’d upload your play through you’re one of the only CZcamsrs who’s content I actually watch. The rest I watch while I sleep😂
Yes!!! I've been waiting for a new BG3 video from you!
i was waiting for you to do a baldurs gate 3 vid and now its here and im satisfied ^w^ loved the vid
For the trade glitch with auto clicker you can actually go to the video settings and decrease the FPS to 10 which is the minimum. The game will not register the auto click fast enough and you will always be selling the same weapon over and over.
Oh my. You know, when I got the funny vase chuck, I never thought it would become what it has. Shoutout to Shikki for actually figuring out how the superfling worked in that clip!
50 hours to beat it? I'm now 129 hours in and only almost to Act III on my first playthrough. 😆
exactly, it took me more than 50 hours to get out of act 1
That's around the time my first playthrough took me as well. Around 140-150 hours. But after that, it gets quicker. After having beaten the game on tactician it takes me around 2 long rests per act to get through them so around 6-8 hours of playtime.
My current run is absolutely ridiculous.
It's a friend and me. He plays a Light Cleric and I'm cobbling together a build. Warlock/Paladin/Fighter. And I just killed the second phase of the Act II final boss with 3 attacks. We are using a wizard/sorc for haste and AoE damage, Astarion whatever you need a thief for which is a lot of stuff. His light cleric absolutely trivializes group fights because he just stacks debuffs on everything every turn. One of our enemies today had 21 stacks of radiating orb. That's a -21 to all of this enemie's attack rolls. If it's not a crit, it's not going to hit and then he will impose disadvantage on that crit so it goes away anyway. This party does not need a healer, because for that you would have to take damage.
And my characters damage output is absolutely insane. Honestly this build has no right to be dealing this much damage since none of my classes go above 5. But it works insanely well.
@@havinagoodtime9733 are you reading a book with the game running? lol
That takes the cake. My first playthrough was 130 hours, and I went around and explored almost everything I could, except for the mountains. ACT 3 kills me tho, because it's just a big boring city imo
Mods the hell out of the game: "Baldur's Gate 3 Is A Perfectly Balanced Game With No Exploits"
In fairness to Gale, I kind of feel like that's the case with like every single one of my companions. Maybe because I keep playing through as charisma characters, but seriously the party after whatever resolution comes at the druid grove is just me having to shoot down like literally every person I talk to after they complain about me already planning to bang the previous person I talked too...despite the fact I had already shot them down as well.
Ah I’ve always wanted to play DND as an American
I have been sipping so much tea in anticipation for you to make a BG3 video.
I was wondering how spiff would cover this since a lot of the DnD community already got the broken multiclass combos covered
"And then I had to finish BG3 a second time" is the most relatable thing I've heard this year.
I’m on my 5th playthrough of BG3, so I feel you.
I was waiting for you to do this game! And I want moreeee
I remember the old rpg Might and Magic VI where near the endgame you ran into ancient tech that was.. blasters. They were extremely powerful and only to be used on the final boss area. The rest of the game was simply trivialised when you got them. So much fun.
Boblin may not be an abomination, but she is an aboblination 😎
This game made me so nostalgic and at first I couldn't put my finger on it, but then it hit me that for the first time in a very long time it felt just like playing my favourite video games as a kid.
I want broken OP builds and exploits Spiff ALL OF THEM! I WANT A SERIES AS POWERFUL AS REANU KEEVES!
Evocation Wizard is broken in Baldur's Gate 3 is broken just like DnD 5e. Adding your intelligence modifier to each magic missile leads to insane damage.
Here is the thing. When has Spiff ever failed? Never! This is just about seeing how awesome his british voice is.
I saw the thumbnail and instantly thought "What magic missile fuckery is he about to get up to?" Excellent work, Spiff.

Ah yes a lovely and perfectly balanced video sir ☺️
Yes!!! Finally I was waiting for a spiffing brit bg3 video again.
Literally just wondered this morning where was spiffs BG3 vid. Actually rewatched the one from a few years back to scratch that itch
Another truly balance game
It's a mod. The game is actually very balanced. I never thought something like that exists anymore.
That Druid Grove stint is just utter chaos, and it's not because someone had a minigun! 😂😂😂
I've been waiting for this!
The fact that goblins are not a playable race in the base game is a crime.
I love this game. Was really struggling on the Balthazar fight when I first fought him, gave up on killing his minions or trying to talk my way through it... snuck up behind him and thwapped him on the head with Lae'Zel and to my amazment, without realizing what I did... I silenced him. Sussur bark greatsword always hit for more than 25 so I kept it on after crafting it in act 1. 0 minions and he died in under 3 turns, easiest fight in the game. The blighted village had so much depth to it, none of it tied to quests besides the blacksmith note. I went back because I knew there had to be more to it and everywhere I looked I found something new and cool. Spider caves, weird hairy poontang, secret basement blacksmith, and some friendly ogres with a love for food. That was what made me fall in love with BG3 and its the first damn POI (though it took a second look).
Clearly this exploit also needs to have shadowheart wander around in a bikini all the time. That was vital to this whole plan.
Spiff stuffing women into boxes is something I never knew I needed to see
A yes, finally! A BG3 video I begged for.
Keep up spiff!
keep up the great work
If you're just going to mod it so you can win... it's not an exploit.
Yeah I guess in this instance it is a balanced game because he didn't have an exploit to showcase.
@@karlheber23 I suppose the box throwing one is an exploit.
Sometimes I get so anxious watching you play this. selling what appears to be your best characters to pull it off in the end well done sir
Can I beat BG3 with a gun? Well, eldritch blast exists ... so yes.
Man, barrelmancy was a lot simpler to pull off than this. But I really want to know how many origin characters can be stuffed into a crate at once.
Also the only real thing missing from this build is Boblin slinging bard insults at every enemy right before they get GAT.
"I broke the game by adding mods!" Oh you don't say?
I feel like the spiffing brit would be the perfect person to hire for finding bugs and exploits. Obviously he would need to be paid better and treated better than the normal hires, preferably with some yorkshire tea
BG3 : or why D&D5 ruleset generally need a real person running the engine and calling out the player's BS.
Well I kind of don't get this video. I mean I can have an god-mode-mod for most games. It feels more like a cheat than an exploit. As in a exploit is something that is in the game that you can abuse and a cheat is something you put into the game to break it. Somehow it takes the fun out of it for me. Can not exactly pinpoint why. The throwing Shadowhart outside the map thing seems like an exploit to me, but the minigun is just not fun for me.
Does anyone get what I mean?
Yeah. It's like an exploit video (the sequence breaking Shadowheart yeeting) done with a mod that trivializes combat (which I guess he has done to speed up the sequence breaking?).
This isn't glitches, it's just mods. Be honest.
50 hours for the first time? That was really fast.
congratulations you created an eastern mmo archer character in baldur's gate 3.
