I don’t subscribe to hardly any CZcams channels. But I’m a subscriber to this one. Super Legit and Super Consistent. Whenever I see a breaking news, sports headline or tweet I immediately think I know Mike’s gonna make a video about this and I’m looking forward to watching it.
the Payton era is brutal for broncos fans

Mike recaps way too damn much. Can’t take his videos anymore.
I still can’t believe Broncos GM hasn’t been fired yet
I've been thinking that same thing. Than I realized,Sean Payton doesn't want someone else coming in to catch any credit for potentially turning the team around. The Wilson situation was 100% ego, he wants 100% credit for EVERYTHING. I believe the Broncos are done for about a decade
Why would he get fired? Everyone was cheering this GM not to long ago and blessed him for getting the Russ deal done. Everyone loved it. It just didn’t work out. His biggest issue was hiring Nathaniel. Also, people always say it’s his fault on the contract. I bet it was part of the trade to get a contract done before the league year. A lot of context, easy to judge now.
@@scorpiofrancis1119that's one downright depressing AZZ reality for Bronco fans😢
Sean Payton is using him as his fall man. He’s an egotistical maniac and this is coming from a Broncos fan
@@jonathancheverez4345 Russel + Nathaniel made sense. As Nathaniel takes credit for helping Rogers reach his potential.. just did not work out, is all.
Sean Peyton wasn't brought in to save Russ. He was brought in to save the franchise.
Exactly. Same thing he was brought in to the Saints to do and he did just that. He took a QB who played so well the team he was drafted by spent a first overall to replace him and molded him into a Hall of Famer. You can criticize Payton for not doing enough to give Brees an even decent defense to work with, but the dude had winning records with Teddy Bridgewater, Taysom Hill, and Jameis Winston. Pretending he just lucked into Brees like some people like to do is comical.
@@ljessecusterlDrew Brees led the Chargers to a 12-4 AFC West Division title under Marty Schottenheimer… So what exactly did Payton do for Brees, that Brees had not already done for himself, or Schottenheimer and his staff had NOT, to develop Brees’s quarterbacking prowess…
Sean Payton was brought into Denver, much the same way Mike DItka was brought into New Orleans, and unfortunately it will turn out the same way, due to EGO…
🤔
And he won't save the franchise....they are circling the drain.
@@superzero4250you mean the chargers that benched Brees and released him. Peyton saved his career clearly. Yeah he had a good year with the chargers before he had a terrible injury ridden season where he lost his job.
True and let’s be real he wanted out of New Orleans

I'm honestly numb to our ineptitude. It just sucks because we used to have a proud winning organization. And to see it go to shit is just disheartening. It just feels like the franchise can't do anything right since Peyton Manning retired. All I want is just a playoff birth. Forget about being a Super Bowl contender. We've missed the playoffs 8 straight years since Super Bowl 50. I'm just desperate for any kind of success. And now, I think I'm starting to understand how Raiders fans felt during their 13-year playoff drought between 2002 and 2016.
at least we have the nuggs and avs
Every team has their time to suck. Its your turn. Deal with it. And also don't tie your feelings into a sports team. Its just dumb.
Pat Bowlen's trust was abysmal. SMH 🤦
This is what happens when you pay to win a SB on the back of a broke ass QB. I. E. SB50/ Peyton Manning...

its almost never worth it to sacrifice multiple first rounders for one first rounder regardless what position they play. any team in need of a qb better sit tight and draft whoever is available.
I tell people all the time qb drafted later usually do better they don’t have the media down there throat calling them a bust after every misssd read
Way more misses than hits, San Fran missed big on trey and that Carolina Bryce young trade 😂🗑️
@@LprogressivesANDliberals carolina did better in 2022 with their qb situation than they did last season with the qb they bet the house on.
@@MrNINJABOY88 that’s true. The price is much lower and so are the expectations. I hope carolinas new coach can mold bryce into the elite qb he’s supposed to be and that carolina gives him better players to work with.
As a broncos fan I agree with 95% of what you said. The one thing I disagree with is why do you have Dorset as our 3rd WR, when Mims will be the WR 3. He was great when used and will Jerry gone, he'll get the bulk of those snaps.
Being a lifetime Denver Bronco fan I have two takes on all of this. First I want to say that I blame the general manager whatever his name George Paton I guess. He is very good at his job of tearing the Broncos apart along with Sean Payton whom I don't think is that good of a coach
Payton got carried by Brees
Certainly explains his 17-6 cumulative record with Teddy Bridgewater, Taysom Hill, and Jameis Winston. If you think Brees was on a Hall of Fame trajectory before he and Payton linked up, you're kidding yourself.
Most overhyped coach in NFL history
You should know that Sean Payton is reporting direct to the owners, not to the GM. So the pecking order is that Sean Payton has lured the owner to hand him the keys to the building after the Hackett disaster and the inexperienced owner were desperate enough to do so. Of course the owners would have preferred to succeed with Russ, but Sean Payton had other ideas. He didn't wanted to be just the enabler of Russ, he wanted to be the star by himself with his "genious offense scheme". Thats the whole story. And he can't fail cause the narrative "worst contract in NFL history" is already in place as excuse for his failing and Payton is not to blame for that contract. The GM and the owner are at the hook for that after Payton will ride into the sunset with a fortune leafing a total destroyed franchise behind. And the media will still consider him as a elite HC.
@@donmiguel4848 well spoken. If you read what I said you will see that I blamed parsley than Fiasco on the gm.
We are not desperate for JJ McCarthy, No Broncos fan who actually watches CFB wants him. We all want Daniels, Maye, Penix, or Nix.
As a Raiders fan I think the Broncos should trade up and get rid of as many first round picks as they possibly can. I definitely don’t have any ulterior motives. 👀

@@user-hg4hz1lx2h I have a feeling JJ will be taken by the Vikings
Not a bronco fan but don’t disrespect like that Marvin Mimms again 😂
The Broncos are historically terrible with trades. Now free agent signings , that’s another story. Either way they won’t be superbowl bound for quite some time. Thanks Mike for helping me see that. Keep making content that YOU want to talk about. It guarantees you’ll be making quality content. Forget the haters.
Ima broncos fan and honestly I’d keep stidem trade down and then draft sanders next draft
As a Raiders fan I think both our teams will draft 1 year rentals this year and go in on QB next tbh. But yall more likely to get McCarthy or Nix then us
As a Bronco fan, I hope they trade back and get more picks that HOPEFULLY become starters. Suck this next season, and then get a QB next year. I want them to build their team 1st before getting a QB.
And that would be the smart route to take unless the QB they really want falls to them at 12. In that case, go ahead and take your QB there. Otherwise, fill the holes in the roster and take it on the chin this year... Especially because they'll likely pick near the top of the draft next year and will have a real shot at a franchise QB next year.
Trading up for JJ is hall of fame level of terrible GMing
There is no way this trade happens. The Broncos need so much more than a QB to be competitive. Given the salary cap situation, and state of the roster after missing out on two years of premium draft selections, it would be a complete waste to take a huge swing at a QB in the draft this year. The Broncos aren't going to be good in 2024 regardless, but if they use their picks wisely, they can lay the foundation for a situation where a young QB could actually develop and thrive.
You forgot about Marvin Mims
Nobody expects the Broncos to make a playoff run this year. What i hope im seeing is a rebuild year. We have sorely needed it for years. Denver has clung to this notion of trying to turn mediocrity into success with risky trades and have over time shed the depth they had in years past. Id like to see Denver focus on building a core of young talent at key positions and look to rebuild from the ground up. Im 100% ok with not drafting a QB if it means getting excellent talent at other key positions instead. Denver will have 121 million in free cap space next year to play with. A QB we can rally behind and spend this season training up would be awesome but not at the expense of the ability to build around him. We can leave that model to the Jets.
Playoff run? Rebuilding year? 💀
Words you shouldn’t say when your franchise is kneecapped for a half a decade.
@@Slhazzard Yall overblow how bad it is. We are eating most of the cap hit this season. By cutting the players we did, it cleared up a lot of room for this season and next. Half a decade...lol. Dont be so dramatic. The concern is building up depth and hopefully locating a QB to build around.
Trading up to get a QB this year would be insanely stupid. The Broncos are going to suck this year, there's no getting around that. What happens when you suck? You draft early, so unless you have already traded away your 1st round pick (like Carolina this year) you'll be in a good position to draft a franchise QB in NEXT year's draft. Draft as much young talent at other positions this year, bite the bullet and take it on the chin this year, then draft your QB in the first round next year. That said, as a Chiefs fan, I hope they give up too much to draft a QB this year, then ruin whomever they get in his rookie season like Carolina might have done with Brice Young last year, and to be honest, if the Broncos are dumb enough to sell the farm to get up to 4 this year they deserve to have that happen.
@@heavymetallabratbasically if y’all don’t do what y’all tried every other draft y’all have a chance at being good again
JJ McCarthy is someone who needs to wait to develop
You may be right but just wondering how many games did you watch of his? Or are you just regurgitating what other people say?
@@alexpumpkin4551 its obvious for anyone that watches ball. the guy barely threw the ball in college and even talented "carry the team" type QBs struggle their first year if they dont sit and JJ is not a carry the team guy, he's a game manager.
@@Donz01 But when the possession matters he got the job done, unlike any QB last season. 3rd down conversion ratings for example.
@Darkkend_ That's the definition of a game manager.
Yea that why he sits for a year
At least panthers were able to stir the pot in free agency though😭
At least they have a QB-prospect who could become something if he has something to work with. They did improve his oline significantly so that is a nice start. If their two second round picks hit, things might not be as bad as we are thinking right now. Im a Bears fan btw so no bias
Ya that clowney signing shocked us big time!
I can't believe Clowney is only 31. He seems like he's been playing forever.
@@FR-nc3vbyou could literally say the same thing about any QB.
Going to ignore that they have Marvin Mims and just got Josh Reynolds? And trading a future 1st rounder isn't what they would do. It would likely be trading away PS2. I know you weren't aware but they have a burner in Jaylen Virgil too, he just got hurt in the preseason on a 50 yard play where he got the broncos to the 1 yard line.
As a broncos fan, this might be bias. But they have one of the most underrated rosters in the NFL. Javonte and Perine at RB, Courtland Sutton, Tim Patrick, Josh Reyolds, Marvin Mims, Lil Jordan Humphrey, and a decent oline. Then when it comes to defense they got PS2, PJ Locke II, Jonathan Cooper, Zach Allen, Baron Browning, Nik Bonnito. and alot of more young studs. They got a solid team (except for a QB. LETS GO GET BO NIX BABYYYY (thats if JJ is off the board)
Bronco fan as well, but I think you have goggles on. Broncos have very few “studs” on this roster. They are getting better @ depth & rotational players. IMO, PS2 is the only freak on the team. Think it’s way too early to put any label or expectations on the young drafted players that haven’t gotten snaps. Anyone that gets rostered on NFL teams have potential and untapped potential. SP is not necessarily a drafting coach, rather a UDFA and FA developing type of coach. With all that’s happened the past 24 mos, there’s room for optimism
Cowboys have been patient for 30 years idk I think I trust Sean🤷🏽♂️
Broncos got Tim Patrick Sutton and Josh Reynolds
Dropping Jeudy and getting Reynolds was an amazing thing to do, especially considering their salaries

This is a really good call, the Broncos should double down, their GM has made great QB moves so far
This is what happens when people hype up a team that sucks yearly

I'm a Washington fan and very happy to have the Drake Maye spot, but I think any team that wants a QB can get one anywhere this draft. There's a lot of potential this draft. Taulia probably won't go until day 3 and he could be just as good as Bryce Young, same size and speed but smarter. He's like the 11th ranked QB
Huge broncos fan nobody else would have given half as much to us for an aging past his prime Wilson
I'm convinced Mike hates the Titans.... they've made so many great moves and haven't been covered once 😔
AFC North has to be the most competitive division in football...
Bengals fan here and I’m absolutely thrilled that the Browns gave Jerry Jueday an extension. Jerry Jeudy is a bust. When you are a top 15 pick and after 4 years you failed to reach 1000 yards in any of the years and the most tds you have ever had was 6. I think that’s just territory. If he was a 3rd round pick and had these numbers I would say great I’ll take that he isn’t a bust. But a top 15 pick from Alabama he is a bust. It’s quite obvious to everyone that Jeudy didn’t belong in the 1st round. If the Broncos had taken Justin Jefferson or Tee Higgins then those guys would be signing their second contract with Denver right now instead of being traded for a box of Popcorn and a Coke.
Sanders Daddy already decided he doesn't want him to play for Denver
Sean Payton saying Bo Nix is “the next coming of Drew Brees” is diabolical 😂😂😂
Never said that
It's also bullshit. Bo Nix is, at best, a 4th round talent. I've had the opportunity to watch him play for years, in the SEC. Not once has he impressed me.

@@kmaterneThank you for being real. Nix and his swing passes out of the backfield will go nowhere in the NFL.

The Broncos need to sign the best NFL punter of all time. He'll get a lot of work.
As a Broncos fan, please trade back to around pick 25 and gain a second round pick this year, then select Penix or Bo Nix. Get a qb and more capital.
There are too many qb needy teams. Good chance they will be gone by then
Taking JJ that early is psychotic
Bo Nix will be there at 12 and I can't see the Broncos passing on him.
I love how Mike forgot to mention Pro Bowler Marvin Mims and Josh Reynolds in the Broncos WR room. Dorsett doesn't even see the field. C'mon Mike do your research

They’re gonna be so screwed if their first round pick isn’t a hit this year
Nahh I think it’s smoke screen to get other teams to bite on the first round. I truly believe we will be drafting Spencer rattler early in the second round
For Denver to move up to beginning of 2nd rnd they would have to give up 3rd, 4th, and 5th this year and a 3rd rnd next year. They would have to trade back in first rnd with TB and get their 2nd rnd pick and then trade up in 2nd rnd to get Rattler. But I don't see them passing on Nix or Penix at 12.
You never can tell till it happens.
Dak sat behind Tony for Four games 😅 that’s why he’s #4 😎
I believe that the Broncos need to be patient like you said.

Seahawks suck that why and he has done a video about the Vikings
lol as a charger fan , broncos should definitely do this 😂
4 games in the preseason 😂
Why is everyone so hung up on JJ Mcarthy?
Champion bias, i think. Because of that, he stands out more than his own talent suggests he should.
Attitude, age, arm, mobility, and accurate. It’s more on projecting what he could be. Would he put up huge passing stats if he were on LSU or Washington. Plus it is assumed Williams, Mayes, and Daniels will be gone. So the next tier is Nix, Penix, and McCarthey. Penix and Nix aren’t too far away in age from Darnold even just to put that in perspective.
A scouting mistake yearly
They’re not. It’s all smoke and mirrors. You try to put teams on guys you don’t want.

I’m hoping we can figure something out here man.
Patience is key to win champs
And Patrick Mahomes who sat behind Alex Smith for a year. You forgot that one. And the fact that he already had a HOF coach a HOF WR and a HOF TE already on the roster.
With all the Broncos needs a CB should not be at the top. If they don’t take a QB they need to take an edge rusher because well they don’t have any. They already have 1 All Pro CB.
Why do people think we can wait to get a qb later in the draft? There are more than six teams that need a new quarterback now.
Don't forget Hines Ward era too lol 💪🏼
Gisecki is a TE, not a WR.
Need more Pittsburgh coverage ‼️
Sean never wanted to save him. He didn’t even want him lol.
This is GENIUS!! I am the biggest Denver Broncos fan here and I have just been praying that they trade up to get a good QB. However, this has fully changed my perspective and I like this plan so much more. :D Keep up the great work Mike!!!
And Mac Jones was not playing behind one of the worst offensive lines in the NFL. Their left tackle for the last couple years Trent Brown is an elite pass protector. They have a dam good center and Cole Strange while I didn’t see him as a 1st round pick is a solid 2 and he has had growing pains because he played college ball at Chattanooga. The Patriots usually have a solid offensive line. Since Belicheck is gone I have no clue what they will have now.
I'm a Patriots fan I think they should follow the same plan. Trade down with Minnesota for picks, maybe trade again. Draft a prospect QB in round 2 or 3. Build a team. Suck this year. Draft a stud QB next year if your prospect QB doesn't pan out.
1) I don't think the fans, Sean Payton, or Penner are patient enough to wait. 2) If we get the right quarterback we could compete this year. I think Russell Wilson was diminished, and we still almost made the playoffs. I truly believe Sean Payton will move up to get either JJ or Bo. He will not have a year to tank. That idea is not realistic in the Broncos' case.
The AFC North is the best most competitive division in football. It’s where you will find 2 top 5 QBs and 3 of the top 5 edge rushers.
Side note: Chase Claypool is rumoured to go to the CFL, to join the RoughRiders or Lions
as a broncos fan i 10000000000000000% want them to take a qb in the 2nd or later and use 12 on a edge. i dont personally think any of the qbs will be worth trading up for or taking at 12, especially considering our team needs alot right now
Broncos should draft a top tackle or the TE outta Georgia. Need someone consistently good in the trenches you can build off of.
Agree.
Russell Wilson would have been tradable had he just started the rest of the season. Sean Payton’s a great coach, but his impatience cost him $85M of cap space over two seasons. They were desperately trying to get Russell to renegotiate to free up 2025 money, so they definitely would have picked swapped to free themselves from his contract. This wasn’t Wilson’s team anymore, Sean didn’t have to prove it was his like this.
What happened to the lace up podcast 😂
As a denver Broncos fan, I think we should draft Bo Nix
I know mocks don't mean shit but every damn one I have done, nix ALWAYS goes in the 4th.
I know That hes a good quarterback and stuff, but I still think the other teams before the Broncos don't need a quarterback aside from the vikings.
@@WHOOP1976
Bo Nix isn't a first round talent. I've watched him play in the SEC for years, and then Oregon. You're making a huge mistake taking that dude, that early.
Where is the Seahawks coaching staff video!
I'm just gonna say as a seahawks 12th man and die hard I think it's hilarious that we fleeced the broncos so much and cost them hella money to just get rid of rw3 2yrs later. That just shows we know how to get rid of superstars in the decline aka rw3, earl Thomas and among others before they show the decline so we get the most out of them
Sean Payton wants a white qb who wears number nine
They should for sure just keep clearing up cap space and collecting young talent
I think what is best for the Broncos is to burn a season and start next year with a better cap situation. If you draft a QB now you cannot put anyone around him. Draft the BEST need player who is available. Which most likely will not be a QB. Then next year start to build your team. Maybe this season start to build a o-line for the QB you will draft next year. That is the best idea. Rome wasn't built is a day...or a season...
GETTING? GETTING? 😂😂😂 They’re the AFC West Jets.
And the Aints are still in cap hell…. Lol
we should just draft Bo nix at 12 and build around him
No, hell no. Just no. Nix will be an NFL bust.
As Broncos fan I go agree with Mike's take that the team would be better off trading down to fill their needs and take a swipe at a day 2 QB, rather than up for a lottery pick QB.
The fact that Jerry tillery is considered and upgrade proves the vikings defense isn't where it needs to be.
Denver may sign Brandon Perna to play QB very soon!
