Did that once. Once. Half asleep and almost at the end of my duty. Fucker rang as I was dozing off and answered "hello". Next thing you know they hang up without saying a word. Then fucking Top came busting through the hatch 20 minutes later and fucking chewed my ass. He was the one who called. Lol
I fuckin answered “hello”, the dude was takin back at my “absolute lack of respect. “ first time answering duty phone” he proceeds to tell you know who you’re talking to, I said nope. He said I’m CO “insert name” get your ass down to bank hall with a mop, gloves, and some other cleaning shit I forgot. the time was about 1630 the hall closed at 1700. I said alright heading right over. I hung up and didn’t fuckin go. He must have thought I was scared shitless. Thankfully that shit never came back around to bite me in the ass.

Andrew Kim in the Marines, they're red course booklets that Marines have to do if they want to pick up Corporal. The Marines generally don't give a shit about it and doesn't take it seriously. That's why a lot of them are Lance Corporals because their MCIs haven't been done yet.

As a Corporal I gave my one Marine a counseling every 30 days. Never got a counseling every quarter from my Sgt. Now, Im getting promoted to Sgt tomorrow and I will not let that happen to my Juniors or Cpls. We all learn from flawed leadership and we can choose to either do better or carry that same burden of shitty leadership.
The more rank you pick up the less people give a shit about you. A PFC goes missing and it's a huge deal. Can't find the gunny?, "IDK, he might be in the bathroom"
Exact same counseling I always got. "You're the best engineer we have. You're just not a good Marine. You need to put some more tools in your toolbox to become an NCO... (read: you need to yell at people and then we'll promote you). Until Iraq happened and then they was like, "HERE YOU'RE PROMOTED!"

The next two hours were spent with them trying to get him to reenlist when he already stated he wasn't going to. Multiple times. Needless to say, he got the last laugh because he's now making six digits and is happy. Fuckin' yuuuuuut.

I worked CQ front desk one night when I was plastered. My roommate decided it was a good idea for us to play beer pong in our dorm until we killed a 30 rack right before my shift. It was like 2am-6am shift so not a single call came in thank god. I left my post to go vomit and shower. No one ever found out 👍🏼

Well, see in the military for mainly for promotions and proper introductions you would sometimes shorten things for instance, LCpl, and Cpl are called Cpl same goes for privates and some lower Sgt ranks than the higher NCO ranks you would call by the whole rank like Sergeant Major
@@REDtheblazian That's completely wrong. First off, in the marine corps, you never shorten the rank regardless of the rank unless you're the same rank or higher. Second, the reason they look towards the camera and shake their heads is because he isn't actually a corporal. He's a lance corporal pretending to be a corporal for this video. The joke is that they doubt they'll ever reach the rank of corporal, ending up as terminal lances.
This is my favorite of the Terminal Boots videos. I especially love the end of it, with Deacon getting chewed out by the Master Gunnery Sergeant. Great acting by all and thoroughly enjoyable.

All things I experienced in my short tenure in the beloved Corps.

Just curious with an outsider's question to Marine Corps discipline concerning 'drunken episodes'. I remember when I first got to Germany with the Army I fell flat on my face hitting a metal guardrail going over a small ditch while shitfaced drunk. It was my first weekend in Germany and one of my NCO's found me passed out in front of my barracks room door with blood all over my shirt from a damned hole in my lower lip that the guardrail had split open. I'd also lost my room keys. Anyway, the DNCO took me to a German hospital where they stitched me up without any local anesthetic as I guessed they thought I was still drunk enough to not feel anything. Wrong there. It was Thanksgiving and the DFAC actually had good food that day that hurt like hell to eat...the cranberry sauce was murder. At least I found my keys where I actually remembered tripping over a road wheel that must have fallen off one of our M113's buried under some leaves near our post railhead.
My NCO's weren't really mad, just annoyed I'd ruined their Saturday morning. Monday morning I had to see Top about it and expected a thorough ass chewing. To my surprise Top wasn't mad but acted like he'd seen this a thousand times over and simply said "You're first weekend here wasn't it? You gotta watch that German beer because it's way stronger than anything we have." (8 to 10 percent on average) This was 20 years ago, but how would this go down in the Corps? Seems almost expected judging by these videos. Yes, I have a permanent reminder of that night whenever I eat because I now have a knot under my lower lip that if I'm not careful I'll bite. In fact I'm running my teeth over it as I type this and will never forget the sensation of the tip of my tongue poking out with closed lips.
