Nobody will ever be more invested in the success and graduation of the recruits than his drill instructor. The drill instructors are tough, but fair, and are men who will not let a recruit down. If you WANT to be a Marine, and you give it all you've got, your drill instructors will be the ones who push you over the top to make sure you pin on the Eagle, Globe, and Anchor, with pride.

If you are unable to pass the IST, the recruiter isn't supposed to send you, but they still do sometimes. When I was there in '97, there was a special platoon for IST fails called PCP (physical conditioning platoon) where you will stay and work out almost every day until you can pass the IST. Believe me, between PCP and the training platoon, they will get you there. The physical part will be worked out both though exercise and special nutritional meals (I had those and they were still good).

AND THAT THE EVIL STEP BROTHERS ARE NOW OUR ACTUAL BROTHERS IN ARMS!!!! and from here foreword we've earned the right to be called MARINES!!!!!!!! and we will never again be called STEP BROTHERS! June 11th, 2007 two weeks upon graduation from H/S I went to Bootcamp. You learn a lot in the DEP and a lot in life through the Marine Corps. Contact a recruiter ASAP.

    OOH-FREAKIN-RAH motivated Golf Company hard-chargers!!
Platoon 2082 grad here..! We graduated on the same day! If your arrival date was August 10 (mine was Aug. 9, 1988), we were in Receiving together! Per the graduation book for our Series, we commenced training on Aug. 17, 1988, and in the weeks that followed we got to enjoy running in the sun, splashing in the pool, walks along the beach, target shooting, and nature hikes & camping in the hills of Camp Pendleton! (>_^) Good times! Semper Fi!

Not sure where you went through, but we were screamed at, intimidated, and everything else right from the second the receiving DI stepped on the bus and "informed" us that we needed to get off his buss and on to the little yellow footprints. That was in '97. That started on day one for our Company. We were never quaterdecked or pitted, but we certainly knew we were in boot camp right from Receiving.

A recruit who held at least c/E-7 in their high school jrotc unit, or had 2+ years in that unit, will be granted LCpl. upon graduation of MCRT, and VERY rarely, (this has never happened at my school, but we have heard about it) if you were the cadet CO, and the honor grad at boot camp, you will graduate as full corporal, and ive only seen that once.
    -Sincerely, Cadet P03 Wrenn
