This channel is a diverse collection of video clips that I have personally found to be "intellectually actionable" so to speak, in that all of them contain complex, dense, but useful information presented in a straightforward manner.
Some of these clips are used as source materials in videos I make on my primary channel that further expand upon complex ideas relating to psychology, culture, politics, philosophy, religion and more.
I also upload random clips or full length videos from my primary CZcams channel on this channel as well.

@@ckocko444 In a way, except morality, and how he described we come to know it through action is reflective of karma. Karma just means "action" after all. And he is saying through our actions we can come to know what is good and bad for us based on what those actions bring us - which is actually the process of karma. And our actions, along with what it brings us, is a function of who we are and specifically what we do within our own life context. Karma just extends that to a spiritual realm of the soul... but I actually don't believe that it is much different at a functional level.

I'm not sure this definition really works. Because a sadist could torture someone else, which I'd say is immoral, but under Peterson's definition, if the torturer does not suffer negative consequences as a result, it was a moral action.

@@hansomekim1219 Hmm.. that is an interesting rebuttal.. I think I'd counter that someone behaving like that would be hurting others, and, even if they don't get caught or punished their actions damage the social fabric and is immoral in that sense... I do think you have to take into account the effect one has in the world as part of their system of feedback

I think he’s saying that if you do something immoral then you will suffer negative consequences one way or another which I believe will always be true because I think anything you do moral or immoral will result in negative consequences one way or another, but what I’ve always found absurd about karma is that bad things happen to good people all the time which is completely unfair and makes no sense if you believe in karma

It's a strange definition of immorality. What about things you do that result in outcomes that are catastrophic for other people but benefit you? I would think that's immoral but it won't necessarily "snap back" at you, you could keep on benefitting and other people keep sufferening.
I really wish I believed in karma and I wish I agreed with Jordan Peterson that "nobody ever gets away with anything ever" but life has taught me differently. Selfish people get away with selfish acts all the time.

The guilt of knowing you've done something wrong, it will live far longer than the pain it caused. The people you hurt can get help, because they did nothing wrong. You can't.
And those rare few who don't feel pain and guilt the way the rest of us do, well, the consequence of their actions will follow them forever. Everyone will find out eventually what kind of remorseless monsters they are, and they will never know love. No matter whether they are surrounded by short term pleasure, they will never see the true beauty that underlies the human experience.

Nothing to do with karma as explained by the Buddha. Nothing at all. The Buddha never speaks of immoral but akushala karma (unuseful/unbeneficial). It refers to any volitional action through body, speech or mind of which, if it produces its karmic result, the result will be unpleasant, give rise to unhappy feelings. And to think one can deceive oneself is, of course, a nonsense, requiring one self that deceives and another self that is deceived. According to the Buddha, however, having a wrong understanding of how the world works, not believing in the workings of karma, for example, is akushala karma of the mind.

Jordan became a model of the world that is not like the world in reaction to parents that cannot tolerate their actual experience of their parents.
Jordan could not get away with his actual experience, so he learned that lying worked to keep negative emotional reactions and overt alienation in abeyance.
Jordan's constant lying, not only disconnected him from the feedback of his internal signals but also has him resisting and contradicting internal signals.
Jordan's disconnection, resistance, and contradiction of internal signals cause perpetual internal imbalances, anxiety, and dysfunction.

When you try to take so much responsibility for a world that isn't your fault, yes it would create internal imbalance. He cares deeply, perhaps too much and he is a blessing.
Those who want to destroy him are disturbed and inconvenienced by the truth.
