@@dualrotorhelicopter "A riot is the language of the unheard." - Also MLK. A frequent rhetorical turn for King, appearing years earlier than that. In 1966, for example, in a Sept. 27 interview, King was questioned by CBS’ Mike Wallace about the “increasingly vocal minority” who disagreed with his devotion to non-violence as a tactic. In that interview, King admitted there was such a minority, though he said that surveys had shown most black Americans were on his side. “And I contend that the cry of ‘black power’ is, at bottom, a reaction to the reluctance of white power to make the kind of changes necessary to make justice a reality for the Negro,” King said. “I think that we’ve got to see that a riot is the language of the unheard. And, what is it that America has failed to hear? It has failed to hear that the economic plight of the Negro poor has worsened over the last few years.” America is failing its own citizens.
"There is no justice in his death" You're absolutely right about that, Mark Yes, the officers involved were fired as a result of this, but I honestly don't think that this is enough They need to be put on trial for George George Floyd's death
Heck, at this point, there's no debating it; the guy died while being filmed by a bystander. I think the officer clearly needs to be put on trial and that kind of evidence tells me he'll right out be charged for murder while his partner needs to be charged with accessory to murder; they didn't do a single thing to stop what was going on either.
He has been charged with 3rd degree murder. But I wonder what'll happed to other 3 officers. Will there be no charge for them? They are equally responsible for what happened

In one breath he condones riots, expresses the need for change, and states that continual pressure needs to be exerted on the government in order for said change to take place. Not only does he take MLK's words out of context (look up the original text), but he blatantly supports violence and use of force to make change happen. I like Mark. ... This crosses a line. I never realized it but Mark is a arrogant, ignorant, antipatriotic bastard who encourages murder and theft and I am not overdramatic based on his "speech" I believe I described him accurately
Way to twist everything around! Congrats! No seriously, what he truly was meaning to say was that we need to “fight” corruption and injustice peacefully. Fight, when used improperly, is a *very* loaded word that can take on multiple different meanings. Mark’s utilization of the word “fight“ did not mean to condone, or support the violent protests. In this context, he meant that we need to uphold, as people in a community, our values of not supporting violence, radical racism or other extremist acts. There’s more than one way to “fight” a problem, and you can “fight” violence with peace, civility and communal dignity. Think before you generalize next time.
The Specialist then why is he condoning these riots ? Whatever injustice was done is already overshadowed by all the crime and violence committed in the name of George Floyd . Do you know how many innocent white people got beaten unjustly at these “protests?” Where is justice for them?

This isn't the first time that same officer has had someone "die in his custody" It wasn't an accident, it didn't "go wrong." It was murder. Fucking murder.
I kid you not when i saw the footage from the bystander it made my blood boil. Because kneeling on another persons neck with an exempt amount or force, being one of the most fragile places on the human body, isn't detaining someone. Its making and attempt on there life. And that cannot be called misjudgement. If anyone has ever gone to a police training academy you'd understand that is not how you apply pressure to detain someone on the ground. Once their hand are behind there back and they're facing the ground. Or in whatever lock you have chosen to use. They cannot resist with there head (mouth facing the floor) so there is no need to force it down via neck. You apply "justified" pressure on the back between the shoulder blades.
Even that, he didnt die from asphyxiation, he had previous heart problems and laying on someone prone like that stops the diaphragm from expanding thus preventing his breathing

It sickens me how anyone can stand up for that "police officer"...His track record spoke for itself. He is by nature just a sick human being...I've heard people try to argue with me that if he gets put in jail, inmates may hurt him or worse...& to that I say, do you have the same concerns for every other murderer in the world, or just the ones that wear a uniform? George Floyd has been added to an ever growing list of needless deaths in the world...& it's a tragedy that cannot continue to be ignored.
No one is sticking up for him? I've never seen a single act of police brutality more universally condemned. Literally, everyone from other cops, normal citizens, and the rioters, thinks that guy was in the wrong.
My father was a police officer for nearly 20 years. My best friend’s father is still a police officer. They have both said that police tend to see the evil in someone more than normal people because they see it everyday.they know how easy it is for a person to pull a gun and end their life. In fact my friend’s dad was shot 6 times after pulling someone over. It all can happen so quickly. Thankfully he is much better now. At the end of the day, the police want to go home to their families too. I’m not defending what happened to George, it was terrible, and those police officers handled the situation poorly. But not every officer should be put through the ringer for the minority of bad cops. No one hates bad cops more than good cops. Im also not saying we shouldn’t address the prejudices that some officers may have. But riots won’t solve it. And if they do, it’s not the right way. I believe part of the problem is that many cops today are not properly prepared or trained for today’s world. But I guess the point of this is: just please, we can’t jump to conclusions, it won’t help in the long run. Thank you to whoever took the time to read this. Hopefully we can move forward to a better future somehow. Stay safe.

@TheCrazyKid1381 So you would rather him say nothing? You're expecting this man to put his entire livelihood aside to enter a cause that you just isolated him from. To put himself in harm's way for a cause that is supposed to simply raise awareness. It is empowering to see Markiplier use his platform so responsibly and impacting the viewers and the cause so greatly.
As one living near a area of continuous rioting, I am seeing first-hand how this problem is making people angry. I smell smoke every day now and hear on the radio about places I've been burning down. Markiplier, you are right and I hope that l, some day after the system is fixed, we can all live in a better world.
Microraptorine The judicial system is the cause of all this, if it had been stricter from the start with police officers none of this killing or even riots on racial issues would be happening but they are not willing to change and this cover up proves it. This decision of 3rd degree was what started it all, this was a first degree and deserved life in prison if not the death penalty. The co-workers who were at the scene but didn't do anything to stop this should have been charged with at least 15 years in prison with no possibilities of parole but instead, they didn't get charged or anything at all. This system is corrupted to the core and this judge should lose his position.
I think the police officer is a bad man, and I believe George Floyd deserves justice(in the form of the police officer being discharged and convicted, accident or not), but I think those who are rioting(not the peaceful protesters or people online speaking about, but those who are violent) are more of a problem at this point. They're making the situation worse, and they're attacking and harming people who are innocent and have nothing to do with this case to "make a point". That police officer was bad, really bad, but those rioters are just as bad, and we need to stop praising them for "getting the job done". They're not doing anyone any good, not George Floyd and his family( his brother made a statement on this), and not African Americans or other blacks either. At least, that's what I believe, I wanted to ask you as someone living by the rioting how people who get stuck in the middle of it feel about it.
@@Heroinedown You do realize that first degree murder is premeditated and planned meticulously in advance to account for every possible contingency, right? This entire situation is messed up.. the officer(s) in question had no right to do what they did, to go as far as they did. They trampled on everything that they are supposed to stand for. For what? Some outdated, outmoded way of thinking? I, like so many other people, saw the video.. heard him begging to stand.. to breathe. It made me sick to watch. The injustice in our society is appalling. Thank you, Mark, for speaking out about this as you have. Not with anger, not with disgust, but with sadness. Things have to change..our way of thinking, of doing things has to change. Regardless of who we are, or where we come from, everyone deserves the same respect, the same treatment, until proven otherwise. Unfortunately, not everyone feels that way, and such atrocities are committed in our communities. Even so, those who believe in the equal value of all life outnumber those who don't. So, we all must fight acts of injustice against anyone, because everyone matters.
What's really upsetting is when people take your race, your religion, your sexuality, your gender, etc and use that to prove that you deserve the way that they're treating you, and that just never made sense to me... ... In one breath he condones riots, expresses the need for change, and states that continual pressure needs to be exerted on the government in order for said change to take place.
Not only does he take MLK's words out of context (look up the original text), but he blatantly supports violence and use of force to make change happen.

Its completely ok when people punish a cop who did not do his job correctly. But when leftists resort to the racism argument, that's when I get pissed off. People are taking out their rage on ALL officers and calling them racists. Most of time, you people don't actually research into the whole background of the situation. Various clips of black men being restrained by a cop are posted on twitter and basically every social media platform, and are out of context, and it causes people to go berserk because those clips have the whole "innocent black man is arrested by racist *WHITE* cop" mentality. And don't even get me started on the "protests" Those aren't protesters, those are criminals and anarchists who see this whole controversy as an opportunity to justify their actions of burning down establishments and buildings possibly full of innocent people. Stay safe.

Most days I wish I had the platform you have, to help others. You are guiding people on the correct path and I really respect that. Even though I’m just a kid, I will fight for the perfect world.
Thank you Mark. Thank you.
Please do not get the idea of
All Adults means “Wiser and Smarter”
And kids means “Irresponsible and Stupid”
People will grow differently nor the same
Like trump.
ZeroMidoriya _ this has nothing to do with politics
@@slushione2617 your right
Lerico I understand that, I just hope the other adults who aren’t as wise figure out a way to see their mistakes. Some of them are the ones that are in charge of how life works, in government, law enforcements, and in some cases civilians
I started crying when you said "when I'm gone" because I literally grew up w/ you and cannot imagine how sad my life would be without you. I love you man
Parasocial moment
I feel like 2020 is just history trying to repeat its self in 1 year.
It's like those videos where they use scenes from spongebob to make a highlight reel of history, except it's real life
Oh my god that's the best description
Wait... Does that mean that the ice age will be back and dinosaurs. Imagine just one day waking up scrolling on you phone and seeing a news article "Dinosaurs are back!"
Lmao
Agreed
I love how mark doesn’t just focus on his channel and what he’s doing. He also focuses on everything that’s going around, and how certain things will affect other people. this is why mark is one of the best youtubers
I love how markiplier can be the most childish person in his videos and a mature one when the time comes
Edit: why can't people on the internet not argue for one single second? I'm sorry for starting a war
Some of the most childish individuals can say the wisest things and understand what needs to he done. I do believe Mark is one of those wise individuals.
Siddhant Bajpai yes but unfortunately he helping spread misinformation
if only he had waited for the autopsy
he didn't die because of suffocation or asphyxiation
like everyone is saying he had preexisting condition
and a history of cocane
it was not a racist attack if you watch the fotage from the police car he was resisting arrest
i disagree with what the cop did and should still go to prison for man slorter
That's how it should be. Be fun and childish all you want, having that control over when and when not is the perfect balance
That doesn't change the fact that the policeman hailed his knee to his neck tho. The policeman didn't have to handle him that way.
@@vanimapermai He wasn't resisting arrest in the 7 minutes a cop had his fucking knee on the poor man's neck. If you REALLY believe that George died from a "pre existing condition" you have not seen the video. He had a bloody nose and was begging to breathe. That was not a natural death, that was murder. You are spreading misinformation by believing a clearly wrong autopsy report.
The body starts shutting down after 5 minutes without airflow. He was pronounced dead before he was even in the ambulance. He could not breathe because he was asphyxiated. Watch the video to see it yourself; it's horrible. And it's all over the news.
He. Was. Suffocated.
This video will forever be rotting in Marks video list.
This is exactly why I love everything about this person. Mark cares so much about everyone and believe so much in humanity.
It just makes me want to be a better person myself and try to fix this unfair and injustice world.
Same here
He’s moral grandstanding. You all took the bait.

Think of us as eggs. There brown and white eggs, small and big eggs, and different types of eggs. They're all different but at the end of the day, we're still all eggs.
@Alex we're different on the outside, but all the same on the inside.
@Alex You realize all of the comments you've ever made can be seen right? You've made some pretty terrible statements.
Alex what’s the point of staying apart ? like why is that even a thought. let people live their own lives. don’t be the ruler of their lives just because of the color of there skin. damn.
Alex is most likely a 9 year old who doesn’t understand racism at all or for that matter the problem at hand
Cristian Garcia it’s actually fact not hate speech he’s probably not trying to be racist bones are different. The minds are almost identical though it’s genetics not racism
2020. The year everything fell apart. Let us all work together and overcome these catastrophes. Because a house divided cannot stand. And we must work together to be able to see a brighter tomorrow. Black, white it dosent matter. We all bleed red in the end

This is such an important topic right now. I am so glad that he's made an effort to talk about this situation.
Same.
I love the fact that Mark always entertains me and makes me laugh, but what I love even more about him is that despite all the comedy he brings, he still can show a true serious face and make people listen
I love when Mark is serious because he helps his audience see the problems in this world. That's one of the things I love about Mark and I'm going to be so sad when he goes away. ❤ ily Mark say safe ❤
I don't even want to think about that
Yes😔
Your comment says say safe not stay safe
There is a tone that Markiplier carries on very rare occassions. I could feel it strongly in this video.
Blind, petulant ignorance
The Times he uses this tone you know it, it feels like a voice that's very serious and important, mark should be a spokesman

Burning businesses, stealing, and breaking shit, in the name of justice is the “proof of otherwise”
What's really upsetting is when people take your race, your religion, your sexuality, your gender, etc and use that to prove that you deserve the way that they're treating you, and that just never made sense to me...
... Also please no one get upset with me because I included stuff besides race.... its still discrimination, and people are still killed over it...........
TheFreshestMint even though that cop did something wrong we don’t need to destroy the community we can give George justice in a less harmful way to the community
TheFreshestMint Whats more important, things than can be replaced with money or people’s lives that cannot be replaced
