You guys in Europe are always ahead of us Americans in lawncare. Subbed from the US.
Thanks. Our business is actually located in Canada although I did grow up in Germany :)
Very nice video! Thank you. Those people that that leave critical comments, lead small lives and are attempting to elevate themselves by bringing others down. It is clear you speak at least two languages fluently. I"ll bet you they don"t.
Well said. CZcams comments have turned into a competition of who can leave the funniest comment. The majority of comments are outright dumb and don't add any value to the topic. This is a good video on the basics of lawn care.
I don't bother raking up leaves. Instead, I just run over them with my mower once or twice to shred them up and let them filter between the grass blades on their own. Last autumn I decided my soil's organic content wasn't high enough (the previous owners of my home routinely scalped the lawn and threw out the clippings which left me with exhausted soil and sick looking turf) so I actually took some of my neighbor's leaves off their hands and spread them on my lawn. I wound up incorporating a layer of leaves about 10cm thick into my turf, and by spring this year not a single visible trace of shredded leaf remains. My lawn has never looked more lush.
This is definitely a way to go as long as you make sure the leaves are shredded up as much as possible so they don't choke out the lawn.
I really enjoy watching your video. Im going to go cut my grass right now
Thank you for this awesome Video!
Great video! keep it up
Working on my lawn coming out of winter bermuda will soon be looking amazing
Thanks for the info
WOW!
I love this video!
I like how this guy gets the girl to do all the work.
A very informative video. Thank you.
Thanks. Glad it was of value.
After many experiments, I found the best way to make grass seeds grow in small areas:
1) remove dead grass
2) apply about 2 inches of top soil
3) spread grass seeds liberally on top of the topsoil
4) apply another 1 inch of topsoil
5) Tap the area down gently with a leaf rake
6) cover the area with a screen (window or door type)
7) make sure the screen suspends about 2 inches above the topsoil to keep the birds away. You can do this by spiking small thin wood branches, about 5 inches long, at the 4 corners of the screen, and in the middle on all 4 sides. The birds will NOT fit UNDER the screen, and cannot reach the seeds from above. It works! All the seeds grew beautifully!
8) water every day for 4-5 days. The idea is not to let the topsoil get dry.
L Duranceau do a video about it .
Thanks for the info
Any time! Thanks for watching.
this is awesome
Arnold Senior to Arnold Junior: “Get off my grass or I will terminate you!” Nice video and thanks for sharing. 😊
lol
I like this guy. It's like taking a gardening class from a skinny, sunburned Governator.
Bib Bicus lol. I’ll be back!
Sehr gute video, komm nach Australien in Eurer off season doch es gibt genug arbeit, solang man arbeiten will. Es ist gute erholungsarbeit und macht guten schlaf im nu!

Ha, we're located in Alberta, Canada ;)
Thanks for the great information! Subbed
Wow

Rudi good video. What organic fertilizers do you recommend in Edmonton and where can I find the organic compost you discussed here?
fertilizer here: www.enviroperfectsolutions.com/products/organic-fertilizers-2/
Compost from any good landscape supply center
Best thing I ever did for my lawn was to raise the blade on my mower. I never water my lawn. This forces the roots to go deeper in search for water, which makes the lawn healthier.
It also chokes out weeds too. I hate seeing people (mostly lawn service companies) scalp the lawn.
aguyandhiscomputer
Agreed. Scalping the lawn will create bare spots.
Hello, great videos. What order should your tip be in? Any specific orders?
Good question...Proper lawn mowing technique is hands down the most important one. If you don't practice good lawn mowing habits (frequent, 1/3 rule etct) all the other tips are a waste.
I suggest taking videos in pretty green grass when making a long care video. Decent advice though.
Great point. Most of the footage was from a lawn reno project and we had a professional camera/editing crew on site. You could also take it as how to get a dead and beat up lawn back to life tip ;)
Great video. Im trying to raise my ph from 5 to at least 6 but cannot find anyplace that sells Calcitic lime in Toronto. Do you know of any supplier or is compost enough to bring the soil back to neutral?
I'd suggest you do a scientific soil test through a lab. They can tell you what you need to add. Compost composition can change so it's good to get an analysis from your supplier.
From a thumbs up btw.
hi . i like you video and i eant my lawn green too . what compost is that ? thanks
Great. We use compost from our local landscape supplier. Make sure to ask for an analysis before you add any product.
Did he said kilt?

Who's watching this in August,, 2016 ?
😇🐬💜🐬😇

I'm watching this in 2017 naked with a rooster on my head.
Ruben Ruvalcaba I watch in august 2017 😂😂😂
Arnold what happened!
Is that corner yard supposed to be the desired lawn?
Most of the footage was from a lawn reno project. So to answer your question...no, this is not a to be desired lawn.
what if you have a ton of earthworms in your lawn? since they naturally aerate the ground is it really necessary??
Davo Rebo just
Can you make a video saying: I'll be back. Asta la vista...baby.
Is water require after fertilizing?
Water/Rain will dissolve the fertilizer and help it "wash" into the soil/root level.
Wolfgang Puck of LAWN CARE?
I just like to remove weeds. I have some that when you mow over them they make you start tearing up and you cant see. I have a 100 pound rottweiler who tears up the yard. The first part of the year all i have is weeds and very little grass. I am afraid of killing it because there will be nothing there but dirt.
What organic fertilizer do you use?
Microlife
Why is synthetic Scotts shown in the video?
We use a local supplier. NPK is 9-3-3
Sorry, the person editing the video used the wrong clip. We use synthetic fertilizer per request so that's why we had some footage.
Scotts turfbuilder is not an organic fertilizer. Its petroleum based.

This guy looks and sound like a Euro Eddie Murphy...lol
I was thinking Arnold Schwarzenegger, actually.
I love it!
It's been 3 yrs are u going to do a update video
Unfortunately we stopped servicing that lawn the next year.
Scotts is not an organic fertilizer though...
you're absolutely correct. B-roll can be a tricky horse ;)
Appreciate the tips though! This is my first season trying more organic ferts. We’ll see how it goes!
Where u been Rudy
I'll be back ;)
@ 0:46 Der Lawninator
Yeah ok, All you need are Seeds that’s it
Seed to soil contact is needed for germination.
This guy tells you to use organic fertilizer while the video is showing someone applying Scott's Turf Builder.
Haha I noticed the same, kind of undermines everything he says.
Sorry, the person editing the video used the wrong clip. We use synthetic fertilizer per request so that's why we had some footage.
@@EuroYardService - I don’t blame you for throwing the editor under the bus. The guy is clearly on drugs.
@@SuperPussyFinger Well, my bad I didn't catch that fertilizer clip before it was released.

Proper tool maintenance will definitely help with performance. Thanks for your feedback.
Fuck it my lawn will just be brown
Kennith Reed 😂😂😂😂😂
Kennith Reed period
Am I the only one that thinks he talks a little like Arnold Schwarzenegger?
What was the need of background music, annoying...
***** appreciated, to give the importance to the feed back, that is good habit to accept the mistake....
why is this guy so excited about making your neighbors "jealous" about how green your grass is...does he really think that's what life is about? lol
nothing wrong with taking pride in how your house and property look. it's his way of making money. he takes pride in teaching people how to have nice lawns. what you call "excitement" I see as being passionate. in other words.....get off his nutts bitch...haha jk...but seriously. stfu
+Mike Rosol I totally agree with you. But I think you're taking what he said too literally. In nice neighborhoods, having an awesome looking lawn can be an unspoken friendly competition with neighbors.
Well chum, neighbours all vie to have the newest car, biggest flatscreen TV when they live in the world of 'Keeping Up With The Jones's'. These idiots actually think if they paid more for their identical shoebox house than their neighbours, it somehow makes them better. It's called snobbery.
Mysterious Squirrel i buy expensive stuff for me, not my neighbors, not friends or family. however you're right. most people do it to show off. the middle class is the poor people that try to show they are rich. where rich people do not think like this at all. they have the money, they just get what they want and tend to not make a big deal about it
You're right there. I do some work for an retired professional couple. Both on great pensions, mortgage paid off and obviously from good stock. They walk round in rags and have a garden shed that is pretty near falling down and full of old broken or worn out tools.
ALl Good Tips that are a Annual Routine..But PLEASE? Your Wife and You shuld WEAR GLOVES! BLISTERS AND HARD FINGERS ARE THE ENEMY OF YOUR WIFE AND HATE YOU TOUCHING THEM WITH THEM AND SAVE ON GETTING SLIVERS.. EVEN THOSE BOX OF 50 LAYTEX GLOVES IS BETTER THAN NOTHING! SET THE EXAMPLE!
I alwayes wondered what a meth addict version of Arnold Schwarzenegger would sound like. thank you!
