I am not involved in this project in any way, I just think it's really awesome.
Mechanism Design Breakdown starts at 1:16
I definitely would but it it's awesome
Any chance of getting a part list for the loading mechanism?

Are there any instructions I could use to build it? I’d like to
how to build it :( can co make the building like another video please...
brilliant form from function
Ha! I had two youtube notifications side by side.
Your latest MMX video and this one 🙂
Keep grinding and I'll see you on the world tour 👍
hey i just watched your video!
Hi
I probably shouldn’t be surprised seeing Martin here but I still am haha
Keep being awesome and innovative!!!
I was expecting some really complicated design with multiple systems to do different things, but the simplicity and ingenuity it all being in just one contraption was impressive
With Lego it usually is just simple functions that make a huge impact
Thanks for an awesome video ! I'm the dad from the father/son team that designed this if anyone has any questions :-)
edit: Levi and I are truly humbled by the power of this community. We are now potentially on a trajectory to reach 10k supporters in the little time we have left, directly due to the support from Jason and viewers of this video. It is safe to say this would not even be possible otherwise. Time will tell, and every supporter matters at this point, so thanks to each of you for being a part of this amazing journey!
edit 2: we made it to 10k! Thank you!
You are the type of dad we all need! Fabulous work you two!
Keep building more awesome stuff!
yes, thanks to you and your son! awesome build. i supported it on Lego ideas months ago. hoping it makes it to the 10k. anyone who has a LEGO city would love to have this in their city. i know i want it!
Great work! I have a 75% complete Technic-scale trash truck that's been sitting around for two years, so when I found your completely functional, minifig-scale truck it blew my mind. Support!
Hey Scott! What a wonderfull build! Keep designing, please.
That was so satisfying to watch!! Congrats to Scott & Levi
someone should tell them how impressed everyone is.
I like legos and pvc instruments too
@@buddyguy4723 And that they're getting attention from wintergatan and Snubby J, among my favorite content creators

Yea I wish this becomes a set I would bye.
Imagine this whole assembly as a GBC module and the truck as part of some automated train system. Full-auto re/cycling!
This is actually a similar concept to a gbc mechanism where a lift arm does nothing until a ball falls into, when it lifts it up and deposits it in a similar fashion. It works with a piston though, not a bevel gear.
Yes, it's the Akiyuki 'stuck ball' GBC, also came to my mind when looking at the garbage truck video, very nice compact design and function in the truck.
czcams.com/video/4JeHGJJORrI/video.html
Maybe I'll take you up on this... 🤔🤔
I could see someone rigging this up with tracks underneath a road in a Lego city, and then have the truck move down the street picking up and dumping trash. Someone please do that!
That would be so awesome!! I hope someone makes that, I wonder if it can be easily modified to make it pick up balls or some containers with balls
I hope charlie gets to see this one, he loves ASL’s
crazy how the CZcams algorithm works
Lol
Lol I was just about to comment this
Do you think this particular model may be a manual sides loader?
@@dylanwhite7881 oh, well technically lmao
The simplicity of this is actually genius, and to make a mechanism that works so believably and flawlesy and keep the vehicle minifigure scale!? The whole thing is astounding and I wil absolutely be supporting this.
Charlie needs to see this
Yes
Definitely, he loves ASL’s
Exactly what I was thinking
It's so simple, but I can see myself getting addicted to the mechanism
Same
Lego has decided to release a technic garbage truck (42167) based similarly to the functions of this garbage truck. Obviously someone in lego saw this garbage truck.
Well obviously, if it reached 10.000k and wasn't chosen as an Ideas set instead. Why pay the fan designer if they can make it themselves and get some cash from Mack as a licensing partner in the process?
@@R0Sch88they didn’t even make a half decent garbage bin on it
I'm so tempted to call in sick to work so I can try to build this today.
100% agreed!
Due it!
Duw it!
It's not a LEGO set right now, it's in review
When I was young I built an enormous cargotrainstation, but I didn’t have (a good) garbage truck. I wish this moc was uploaded back then, child me would’ve been very happy...
I pretty sure Jangbricks would like this in his lego city, if he doesn’t already have one.
Jang generally only likes his own designs in his city, but I would definitely love to hear his thoughts on this.
If it can become an official Lego ideas set maybe he would have one in his city
That mechanism is absolutely fucking ingenious with the way it uses the closing of the two arms as a locking mechanism to force the whole assembly to start rotating right as they close.
This design remains one of my favorite lego vehicle mocs out there because of its functionality. It's a simple mechanism but genius in execution.
Sure, this is cool and all,...
*But can it smash the bins like how the trucks do it in those viral vids?*
Dang, this set got 10,000 supporters but wasn't approved. If it had, that would have been AMAZING because, well, it incorporates a simple LEGO Technic mechanism into a LEGO System set! Such a thing has become unheard of!
And they have done It!, how things change
@@atria59 Yeah, they stole the idea and didn’t credit the original creators. Funny that?
You know a mechanism is seriously good when even this guy is impressed
I remember seeing this at Brickworld. It blew my mind, and the fact that the MOC is designed by a father/son combo is really awesome.
Lego will never produce this as it is smart, useful and has functions.
Bruh
As you do not know that
3:00 That satisfacts me soooo much
I’ve never been so excited to get a garbage truck lol
lol
The fun factor is better than anything in a typical Technic set IMO.
I don't care how old I get, I wanna play with that. Looks like so much fun!.
pretty much the same mechanism as in Akiyuki's "Catch & Spin" gbc module I think. Always gives me a twist in my brain. So amazing!
I would have absolutely loved it when I was a kid, as I was always captured by the scenery objects (here: trash) in Lego magazines. Many loose pieces always made it more immersive to play than just imagining there's something in there.
Here's to hoping my kids will love this as well.
Millions of years of human development and then this creation is born! It really is an amazing use of a very small selection of lego parts. Simplification of that mechanical process whilst still allowing it to fit inside a small set like this. I really hope lego make it and also consider other ways to use similar mechanics on other models.
Most genius yet compact thing I've ever seen.
Reminds me of the mechanism applied to the "Barcode Multiset" (8479) which works on the same premise! Very nice to see it included here so neatly and efficiently!
This is such a good design. Super simple, looks great, awesome functionality and allows for a very immersive experience when driving around a Legos city. Super dope. I also love the design of that one trash can with wheels
i was obsessed with garbage trucks as a kid. i never knew why.
I’m surprise that Lego hasn’t picked this up already Younger me or my younger cousin would’ve loved this
LEGO board gonna dismiss it because "not enough playability" out of jealousy for how genius that mechanism is
Then they'll copy it, which is a shame but at least we'll probably get it regardless
@@obliviousotterI For only 120$
good to see this coming out as a tecnic
THIS is the garbage truck I've been wanting! It is exactly how it should be! Definitely voted that up on Ideas!
I’d rather have this instead of the lighthouse.
Yes!!!
love this
Would love more Lego sets that can have little functions like these that make them way more realistic or accurate

Once explained it’s so simple. Really well done, thanks for sharing, you’ve got my support
I remember the first LEGO set I built was a garbage truck with my mom. This is so awesome and brings back some great nostalgia!
We got this in but technic
Omg. Things like this make me want to venture away from starwars and make a regular lego city
this is a super simple but effective mechanism! Thanks for showing us despite it not being your design.
Never thought I’d be so enamored by a garbage truck lol. Great job Scott and Levi!
Charlie would be so satisfied
It's so sad that this did not win
I completely agree with you. There is a rumor that Lego will be releasing a garbage truck (city set), unknown date. Several lego talking groups have been saying this......
This is amazing as i love lego sets with working features, and for some reason i live the design of rubbish trucks. I will definitely support this project on lego ideas
Wow, your idea is amazing! To put the trashcan holding mechanism in that small car? You're amazing!
Xingbao stole the idea without even notifying the Scott and Levi Hasse. They're selling the stolen design as XB-18016.
Now I know where to get it if it doesn’t become an Ideas set.
Cr1tikal would love this
This is like a mini technic set. So much functionality in such a small set! Super impressive!
I'm in love with this. The only way it could be even better is if the dumping was also made my a knob or lever rather than by just by hand. But still amazing!
Lego: making this set
Me: *Like that’s ever gonna happen*
Absolutely brilliant! I'd pay for instructions for this if it doesn't get approved.
so cool! thanks for showing this... just went and supported it.
Yeah Thanks Alot For Sharing I Really Enjoyed This As I've Said Before Back In My 90s Childhood Days I Didn't Have No Type Of Instructions I Had To Come Up With My Own Ideas and Build Things Like This By Hand Best Believe It Wasn't Easy.
es bellísimo :)
finally! a trash truck that most people see in every day life!
This is utterly brilliant. And unbelievably compact. I'm off to Ideas to vote for this.
I'm happy you're back, because before you posted building AT-TE and improving hedwig videos, you were not on youtube for like over 2 months. you're back with new stile of divided videos, I like it, thanks for amazing content :)
Is there any instructions for this so I can build it immediately? This is mind-blowing!
I think you'll have to reverse engineer it from the video.
My friend has a lego like that without the mechanism but it’s orange
I love it! I love mechanisms that are still within minifig scale and regular sized sets!
I really love this! The mechanism is really well made and the truck works and looks awesome!
Results just in, NOT accepted from Lego Ideas. Please Jason, publish instructions on your website, i NEED to have this so bad :(
If you want instructions you can vote "love it" for our project in the BrickLink Designer Program using the link in the description. If LEGO makes our set, instructions are released to the public for free.
Lego has watched this your video and put this function on the lego technic mack lr electric garage truck
I’m glad this gained full support! It’s a really cool set!
Brilliant man, just brilliant.
Anyone shown Charlie this yet?
im just trying to think of how theyrr gonna advertise it if it becomes a real set. how do you glorify a garbage truck lol
Maybe label it as a recycling truck? Also this isn’t the first time lego has done a garbage truck but the recent ones were also street sweepers
Bruh... Kids and Most adults who were kids in the past LOVE Garbage Trucks!
A man has fallen into the river in Lego city!
Use the garbage truck to fill the river with trash and make the rescue!
They could also easily add it as some part of a larger set, with a more interesting building or something.
This is super awesome! Scottand Levi you deserve the credit! Cheers!
Really cool design! 👍
Moist Critical is comin for ya bud
This design was stolen for a technic set...
And now I can buy it😊😊
And I have that technic set.. 😳

Great work from Scott and Levi Hasse
OH MOY GOODNESS. I AM SO SUPPORTING THIS

Xing Xingbao copied it
So many kids and adults would love this. Especially children on the spectrum that love Garbage trucks!
Awesome, nice and tidy. My boys would love this, I love this! Great work.
wow I love how SMOOOOOTH it works. I want to build it right now xD
Awesome and supported!
This is the most amazing thing I have ever seen.
This is epic! Like wow! I wish there was instructions for this. Works so smoothly and amazing, and I hope this becomes a real set someday.
dude!!!! this truck is awesome!!!
Awesome job and I have this Arm works perfectly Scott and Levi this is for you I love your Truck
Amazing. Thanks for the demonstration.
I love these MOC's that a way better than what Lego itself is bringing on the market.
Awesome build.
Nice that you have shown the mechanism, I could integrate it in a bigger truck as well now.
Very ingenious and remarkable garbage truck, a big thank you for sharing this video. Good luck with such interesting ideas
Such a simple mechanism but very clever!
Awesome!!!!
Thanks for featuring these awesome ideas!
Great mechanism, I’ve supported the project.
Dude that’s so cool! Nice build!
That function is insanely smooth!
Not much of a Lego city fan but this is ace! Love the hidden nature of the arms coming out from under the chassis. Very clever!
so simple yet so genius. Amazing dude!
This is so cool!!! I hope this turns into a real LEGO set I will buy it.
10 000 supports, congratulation!
