- We have been investigating the sexual exploitation of Somali women, who've been filmed while being assaulted and then blackmailed and shamed online.

He's uncovered a shocking practice where abuse videos are shared and even sold - and victims' lives are destroyed.
Some of the recordings end up on private message groups with tens of thousands of members.
This is the story of three women who became victims of this monetised abuse.
Warning - their testimony is distressing and contains descriptions of sexual assault.

Somalia needs so much social reforms, and completely transforming people’s thinking, they’ll say oh it’s a shame that a woman is raped and no shame for the rapist, so bizzare and backwards and outside the fold of Islam. One thing I noticed about Somali society when I lived there is the obsession with the Hijab and simple other Islamic deeds but the complete lack of practicing Islam the way it should be, we need to re educate our people. This cultural attitude of shaming the woman is not compatible with Islamic teachings. People's fear of others and their perceptions seems greater than their fear of Allah (SWT) and the punishment for the injustice they do and allow to happen. They don't even fear the capitol punishment which is subscribed for such a violation because they know it wouldn't be enforced!. Everyone knows this, the people who are only bashing Somalis about this are just trying to feel better about their own culture.
Racism, tribalism, injustice, rapping woman and young girls and blackmailing are very common in Somalis societies.
I condemn this action and it need to be dealt in Islamic law which is punishment for the perpetrators. I also like to remind you that Somalis are entrepreneurs in Africa and worldwide. why are you not covering that achievement rather than always highlighting negative image among your people. I know journalism only concentrates on negative so it can make it to the news channels but remember there also a positive journalism.
Yes, the positive aspects of Somali achievement should be highlighted, but now we're talking about serious issues that are a huge problem in Somalia and need to be addressed right away; there's so much going on back home, from crimes and famine to mental health issues that are affecting our people.
Journaism is about covering society issues and what society wants to hide, not a praising tool used by countries.
