Ya. Crossovers are so much fun! My previous reveal had a couple of doozies, but wasn’t marketed as a crossover episode. An 8.5 went to a psa 10.

@CCL Sports Cards crazy how much of a bump those get sometimes. You'd think there'd be a lot more consistency...even between companies
@@brutusonbaseball I think it’s hard to be consistent 100% of the time. I’ve alluded to it in many many episodes, but I’ll say it again. We are humans, and we make errors for a litany of reasons - in many things we do - and to think we can effectively grade cards consistently, say over an 8 hour shift, is insane. It’s why HGA was such a brilliant notion, although we can debate how that has turned out.
I’ll say it this way. When not using SubHub - which I HIGHLY recommend - and clean and screen my own cards, I generally spend no more than 30-40 minutes, maybe 5-8 cards, actually get cleaned, because by the 20th card, I find myself wondering what I’m gonna eat for lunch, or what my kids are doing at school lol. Since I have a decent gem rate, I imagine my theory works. I focus and scrutinize, for a short period, catching all flaws, and over time, collect a pile of 50-60
Cards where 65% are gems, which is completely acceptable. Again, the cards showcased here were Dusty’s handiwork :).
I will say that the one sub grade which irritates me and should not be subjective, is centering. That is a measurement, and how can one company say a card is an 8.5 centering, then another say it’s a 10 - assuming the card appears beautifully centered. That sub grade or error, I have little tolerance for.

You subbed some killer cards, my guy. What are your thoughts on investing in pitchers? Some collectors steer away from pitchers because the position is so volatile and they aren't everyday players. Any thoughts.....
John:). Welcome to the show!! I invest in pitchers, and allude to it episodes. In my eyes, while they are “volatile” many ever suffer career ending injuries, and because of the notion that pitchers “aren’t investable” many collectors just give ‘em away.
If you look into “I just invested segments” I showcase a few guys I’d buy. In fact, spoil her alert, I just picked up some nice Ricky Tiedemann, and Clayton Beeter.

I do. That’s a wonderful tip, regardless. I have had many a card chrome card with a funky substance on the back, up to severe damage that cannot be seen on the cards surface. I really appreciate the suggestion:)
