Man. This makes deciding on my next board more difficult… I HAVE TO get a TRON board - those light bars are MAGNETIC at night 🤩 My surf buddy has the Zealot S2 & it straight up looks like it’s floating from a distance. I don’t love the deck however, too stiff & clunky feeling (I’m used to my OG Zealot & G3). The Meepo Aurora became my next board to get - smooth, flexi & TRON lights. But this new G5 looks so good! The next gen remote, even the hub motors, which Backfire does so right… Nice work giving the pros of hubs btw - they don’t get much love in the esk8 forums, but they really are great for most casual riders
Great video nice board all I’ve ever owned was hubs looking to get into a belt board but thanks for pointing out how they scrape I’ll definitely have to get a board with top mounted motors
No kick pushing sucks on HUB drives. In fact any motor that does not have a way of disconnecting the motor from the wheel will apply resistance to kick pushing. If I had to kick push I would rather have belt drive where I can quickly pop the belt off and have a completely free rolling wheel
Hello, great video, thank you for this test. I'm a beginner in e-skating and Im' looking for a good board to go to work every day : 15kms round trip on slightly damaged roads with part at 30% uphills. Can this G5S be suitable for my use ? Compared to the Exway X1 Max or Flex ER ? For my needs with big uphills but being a beginner rather than Hub or Belt ? Thanks in advance for your help and your response.
Hi I just ordered this board. Are you still using it? Has everything been good, any issues that lead you to get in touch with service? I hope the board will behave good :)
“better” is subjective. lots of ppl prefer belt because its more diverse. meaning it can change with pullies and wheels. hub u cannot, and hub isnt as fast and powerful either. but as a beginner, its a great board for u. plenty of power and range with basically no maintenance. Use our link and discount code. msg us on instagram with any further questions
@@esk8unity hey sorry to bother you again but i have 3 questions the first 2 are probably a dumb but is back fire a trusted site to get a board and is their app a trustable app and last question can the g5s electric skate board catch on fire like some E stuff have before. That’s all Thank you Kind regards
@@MLG_ZAP 1: plenty of hubs boards do 30mph.. 2: if ur falling at high speeds, u need more practice and dont belong going fast. 3: if U think straight line high speed deserves any kinda praise, it exposes u need to practice skating/longboarding more. theres way more to riding then clenching ur butt up and going fast in a straight line. 4: if u rely on belts for more performance, thats cool, i agree, but u dont need performance to have fun on a board. especially if ur a skilled rider. like i said, its not made for the delicate man. u put a traditional longboarder on a eboard with 80-105mm wheels, there gonna say there huge soft wheels and super comfortable. unfortunately a lot of eboarders a used to being comfy and cozy instead of having skating culture in em ✅
To anyone watching this: do not get this board. It's garbage. I have the G3 plus, and the quality throughout compared to other companies is really bad. It's an alright board if you are broke and have no other option. Otherwise, pass.
Nope. The trucks are cast. The boards break (mine broke within a week and had to have it replaced). The parts are garbage. The battery is some off-brand third-party Chinese crap. It has hub motors. There is a reason these things are cheap. You get what you pay for. For the same price or just a tiny bit more, you could get a far, far superior board from another company. This is indisputable, but keep trolling. @@madeinerror

Bro u basically explained me why i fell in love with the G2 all over again😂😂😂

Sick board and sick review!
great video as always
dude i got my S3 and love it but i swear i wish i could own one of all types of boards!!! Even this hub drive looks fun but glad i got a belt drive!
I would definitely buy the G5S/V mini hub to replace my backfire mini. Hopefully soon 🤙

Is it powerful? Compared with others? Which would you suggest between zealot x and this?
How quick was the shipping I’m in the US are you? If so how long on the real time when you had to wait for it?
You should review the G5 as well. Just ordered one
id love to . we enjoy those flex decks

Do you know the hardness on the bushing?
how did you find the flexibility of the deck?
Lights are a cool upgrade to the G5. Never owned a Hub drive. Just curious how many miles can you get out of the rear wheels?
Gear drive = direct drive > belt drive > hubs
How many pole pairs does a G5s have?
That’s an incredible board!!
The breathing mode looks great.
Do you happen to know if those hubs can work with Cloudwheels
That would be cool

Is this board a good board or should I look at another one to buy it it high maintenance and is it good for a beginner
its great for a beginner. almost zero maintenance . fun. great customer service. plenty of performance and range for ya.
@@esk8unity 😀
Is it better than the 3Gpluse because that takes some beating ?
g3 plus was before my time. but im sure all the backfires can take a beating. I’ve had quite a few zealots and they were all durable as hell
I'm def not feeling those big ugly pods hanging down (especially the front one), nice board with a sweet remote otherwise!
Same enclosures they've been using since G1. Backfire loves to cut corners.
What would you recommend between a zealots s2 or the g5s ?
Go for s2
