A euro coin has a similar conductivity to a gold coin with alloy 900.
When measuring the coin, the GoldScreenSensor can therefore output gold 900 as the measurement result, even if it is not the corresponding alloy.
If you compare the dimensions and weight, it quickly becomes clear that it is not a gold coin with alloy 900.
It should be noted that the GoldScreenSensor measures the conductance of an object. From this information, the GoldScreenSensor deduces which alloy or material it is: The GoldScreenSensor is designed for bullion coins and bars and outputs corresponding alloys.

Aucune méthode non destructive unique de contrôle des métaux précieux ne peut à elle seule détecter tout type de contrefaçon. Si vous voulez contrôler des pièces de monnaie de manière non destructive, vous avez besoin d'au moins deux méthodes de contrôle. Il est relativement facile d'imiter une propriété physique (conductivité, densité, sonorité, etc.) d'un métal précieux. Toutefois, il est beaucoup plus difficile, voire presque impossible, d'imiter deux ou plusieurs propriétés physiques à la fois.
Procédure à suivre :
- Vous vérifiez les dimensions (diamètre, poids, densité).
- Vous mesurez la conductance.
Ce type de contrefaçon peut certes imiter la conductivité, mais pas la densité.

Does this device test Platinum and Copper?
Yes it does: It measures the electric conductivity of any metal.
Does this test jewellery as well?
No, this device is not made for jewellery. The measurement zone has to be completely covered, which is very rarely the case for jewellery. Besides, the composition of jewellery does vary a lot, whereas bullion coins and -ingots are normally always made of the same composition, so the measured conductivity value doesn't really help for jewellery.
