  • Condor bags and tactical soft goods are well known. They have always been budget friendly but with the low price often came less high end features and materials.
    Condor has grown and evolved over the years and now they are offering their new "Condor Elite" series of products that I think deserve a closer look which is why I stopped and filmed a booth over view video for you guys to see.
    I am not a rich man. I am on a budget, so anytime I can find something that has high value and an affordable price...Im always interested.
    I really want to try out their ballistic shield and covert style backpacks.

    I run both Condor and Voodoo Tactical and most of the Condor line is solid for use by everyone from the Casual Camper and Weekend Warrior to the Operator and Contractor. I do appreciate some aspects of the newer line such as the "Sector" Sling-Bag which is ideal for running Urban Ops, especially Covert, and with the integrated SAPI sleeve and configurable pouch/pocket ability it increases Mission Capability. The "Vanquish" multi-platform system also caught my eye and with a price-point of around $120 for a do-all chest rig I think I will soon be updating my own rig which is minimalist to say the least as I run the "Sentry" plate carrier currently. The one point of contention was the argument that 400 Denier Nylon is anywhere near as durable as 1000 Denier and I will state the Presenter in this video is 100% unequivocally wrong and anyone whose has dealt with lighter weight Nylon especially in wooded territory where snags are common will attest to this after ripping a bag or a pack. Overall though the new product line from Condor definitely offers a new and fresh direction and shows Condor is in-tune to their Customers and as someone who trusts in the quality of the gear I will definitely continue to run it.

      I bought a condor plate carrier years ago and it served me fine for my low level use and my low budget. it's tough to spend $300 TAD gear or SOE or Shelbacktactical etc. I love that stuff but it's pricey.

    I just bought a condor cap with two free patches for like eighteen bucks and it's super super nice quality. I own almost thirty caps or close to that and the Condor one is the best quality and great price. Check out Amazon for it but look around because they do sell a cheaper one but I went for the better one. Definitely looking forward to buying more Condor stuff after seeing what they could do with a hat, want some molly bags next for my Maxpedition sling.

    on the sector sling bag, it's to bad they released the bag before realizing there is no way to secure your firearm in the back ccw pocket. No hook and loop. Oops R&D dropped the ball on that one. Clearly they never actually carried the bag.

    I am kinda underwhelmed by the backpack really. Most of those features are on any small backback off the shelf at a sports store. The only Thing I saw on this that was unique was incorperating the soft body armour in a pouch. Given the amount of new materials/ material science now, they could have put in a Kevlar weave into the material of the backpack. Low profile GPS tracker in it. Magnetic stick and go slots for mags to hold then in place. Also a way to secure the gun safely/ built in gun lock would also be a welcome addition to any of those products. Also nothing really all that new in terms of body armour either good presenter, but over all a pretty stardard product.

    899 for that shield?!?!? that's crazy money. I could make that in a messenger bag for 250! that's kind of what I thought he was going to say but then he pops off with 899!?!? you know they are making that thing for 200... more than quadruple the cost...

  • @hammanvideo
    @hammanvideo Před 8 lety

    Uhh...one hit to that ballistic shield and your arm is broken. The thing about the heavy ballistic shields is that they absorb so much of the energy. That is not going to happen here. Your arm is still going to take the near entirety of the force of the hit. While you may still be alive, you will be severely disabled.
    Also, an edge hit will cause the shield to rotate around the axis of the vertical arm. Shots fired in quick succession could end up passing the shield if the shield is not rotated back into place quickly enough.
    Since this is being marketed to LE (I think it is anyway; not entirely sure), I would have thought that they would have thought about that. I would say that this is something that may be good for the sheepdog civilian, but not really for the LE market.

    • @mixflip

      I think companies use the generic hook & loop because the name velcro is a copyrighted brand name.
      kinda like band-aid vs adhesive bandage. band-aid is actually a brand name.

    don't ever, ever, ever wear a backpack on a motorcycle........

    • @mixflip
      @mixflip  Před 8 lety +1

      why? I see those hard shell backpacks all the time.

    • @Customsouthernarms
      @Customsouthernarms Před 8 lety

      +mixflip because they're not safe. I have no doubt that you see them all the time. Just like when we were doing competition weights, I always used to see people buying these weights that tied around the ankles. Make sense right? The more weight resistance you have the more of a work out you'll obtain.
      I showed up with a pair of ankle weights one day and the coach cussed me out. Why you may ask? Because the ankle weights are constantly pulling on your knees and eventually will hyperextend ligaments.
      In the event of a crash you don't want anything that may damage your spine, this is also why you are told never to carry a pistol in the small of your back. There has been many a times someone has fell with a pistol in the small of their back and done damage to their spine. I've even seen some backpacks with "spine armor" it actually appeared to be aluminum. Upon closer inspection it was painted plastics. long story short don't wear a backpack on a motorcycle. Saddlebags were invented for a reason..

    • @berniedmjm4108
      @berniedmjm4108 Před 8 lety

      I'm curious too. Care to elaborate since I wear a backpack all the time whenever I ride my motorcycle?

    • @Customsouthernarms
      @Customsouthernarms Před 8 lety

      +berniedmj m if you were to be involved in a accident there is a great chance that the backpack would do far more damage than protection.

    • @berniedmjm4108
      @berniedmjm4108 Před 8 lety

      +Custom Southern Arms Well, this is the 1st time reading about this or hearing anything about this. IMO riders who doesn't wear there safety gears are going to feel the wreck more than a rider who wears all their safety gears. Whether it be 90 or 100 degrees, I'm still wearing all my safety gears (head to toe) just in case. My jacket also has a spine protection. When I ride, my backpack is never loose. It's nice & snugged. I see what you're saying but I never heard of the dangers of riding with a backpack in my 12+ years of riding. A backpack is like another extension for extra padding if anybody gets hit from behind.
