"women never feel the sense of danger" - actually a super interesting point. a female friend was reading a book by this feminist that was about boys and men. she asked me one day if i ever feared violence while i was a teenager. i said i didn't exactly fear it at school but i was certainly aware that it could happen, and i would avoid the boys who were more likely to cause trouble. and yeah i was in altercations a couple of times. so it's just a fact of life.
she said she was mind-blown by what she read in the book - the author had had conversations with young lads and girls to find out about their experiences, then wrote about the differences. my friend had no clue that men were basically permanently aware that they could be involved in violence at any time.
and of course, girls have their own version - they need to be aware of sexual danger all the time from puberty onwards. it's different, but we both have our struggles

Well said. I wish I had elaborate a little more. Men and women’s fears are different in general. Men have to be aware of confrontation in public and or in private. For women it is mostly private violence they have to fear. In the public eye women generally have nothing to fear. Men are expected to defend and protect and women in danger. Rightfully so.

Not just sexual danger but just physical danger as well. The most likely harm to women statistically comes from men
After all , it was only until recently that hitting your wife was considered a private marital thing. Sean connery died in 2020 and i dont think that dude ever changed his mind on his stance that it was the right thing to do if your wife was doing something you didn’t like

Firas, women used to have huge arms and protect each other..
In primate society, usually males are under mortal threat if more than one female is involved in the fight..
You are kinda pushing pseudo intellectual patriarchal stuff..
I find it a bit tired, and forced..
No person is an island, and theres no garauntee, .. i konda find its to matter-of-factual for the arbitrary social choices we choose .
We arent "made for war", this conflates complication with abstract human ambition..
You know, other primates will often compete and fight over resources, even when they are abundant in the environment.. its so arbitrary how act as long as we persist as a species.

I'm always amazed at the confidence and sense of calm I felt after only circa 6 months of training BJJ. It made me realise just how incapable your untrained person is and how incapable I was, quite frightening really. I really thought I could look after myself. Now, knowing 99% of men have no training, I have zero intimidation around others and standing my ground in situations. It makes you calm and assertive and is a wonderful sense of feeling knowing you can take it further if required.

Very good point on the sexual assault of women during war/conflict. Men often point out that women are inferior physically and give it as a reason for why they should not be combatants. As you know coach, there are some women who would put the average man in the ground physically.
As a soldier I justified seeing women in combat rolls if they were physically more capable than average men in combat rolls, but ..
Here is the reality, 1 man can get 5 woman pregnant in 1 day. 1 woman can be pregnant once a year at best. We have to protect our women, men are expendable, women are not.

Yeah but it doesn’t matter if she’s physically strong there’s other reasons why women shouldn’t be in ground combat, lower bone density, period cycles, emotional hormones, and unlike men women are programmed to be protected from birth so their instincts are not optimized for the dangers of war so they lack situational awareness in that environment.

Yes you are definitely correct in this instance. I was referring to a public group setting. I was a doorman for many years, men fought all the time, women very rarely and if ever a man hit a woman he would get stuffed in a shoebox. Even the worst guys knew not to hit a woman.
But I agree coward will attack women via ambush when nobody is around.

@@CoachZahabi Indeed. There's a lot of dickhead males (and females too...in a different way) out there who wont take no for an answer. And get all in their feelings if a girl isn't interested. And start acting out and getting weird and threatening. Especially if too much alcohol is involved. My nieces tell me they are always alert and aware for risk when they go out.

@@CoachZahabisimply put, women lack situational awareness because they’re sheltered so most threats don’t even register to them.

Some men think that since they didn't get provided for, they shouldn't provide for their surroundings. The irony is that they barely even provide for themselves. They victimize out of unfairness due to circumstance. They justify their existence as living. But unknowingly their existence perpetuates real danger. Vulnerable at every angle. Nonchalantly ignorant. Their vices can produce virtue but at a price. Even if you pay half of it, you'd experience dangerous levels of freedom. But that too comes at a price. Dividends become rhetorical. Statements are inevitable. Reap what you own.
