    • @TheGreatness-gg1jx
      @TheGreatness-gg1jx Před 28 dny +6

Yeah, no. The reason people like you say "there's no defense" is because this is the hardest era there's ever been to play to defense in the league. You have playerz on ever team who can shoot from 30+ feet so you have to guard multiple players at the 3-pt line. You have NO LANE defense, so Bigs usually get one on ones or are isolated on smaller players. It's never required this much TEAM defense. Minnesota is the first team to really dominate with defense in this Post Curry Era.

Any Nuggets Fan Reading that feels this is over:
The very first thing Jokic did after winning the Finals was shake every person's hand on the Heat. He did the same thing to MN last night after that bloodbath. I cant imagine how difficult that was.
I think resilience and perseverance are the two most underrated traits that an athlete can possess after having witnessed Jokic's unorthodox rise to superstar status over the last several years.
I actually believe that those who think they have this series figured out now, are completely underestimating this guy, his leadership, and the natural transformation that extraordinary talent can undergo when presented with the most adverse circumstances.
Remember when silent Jokic got loud in timeouts against Phoenix last year when Durant and Booker were 80% from the field in the first two games, and the series was a nerve-wracking one? He rallied them with his intensity, and now that series is retrospectively considered a blowout.
Remember, Jokic led the same core guys to two consecutive 3-1 series comebacks.
I haven't seen emotion from him yet. Let the wolves get comfortable. We've had 7 games now that we've played terrible. Were due. Jokic will step up and get them motivated when it counts. We've let MN hit us in the mouth over and over again, and we dont react. When Jokic comes to form and steps into that leadership role in MN, the momentum will swing. Compared to Jokic or Gordon, do you think KAT is tougher? Or Gobert? Or NAZ REID?? We ran these clowns off the floor last year.
    Friday, we FUCK SHIT UP.

I've been saying that the ONLY reason teams are scoring more is because of the rule changes that have allowed for a much, MUCH, looser offense, which includes all the 3pt shooting that have skyrocketed most players' PPG, as well as made them much more focused on offense than ever before to the point that they end up disregarding defense much more so than in the past.
I mean, just think about it. When the entire league can get away with carrying the ball and doing so much shit that would be considered offensive fouls back then, as well as numerous other reasons, then it only makes sense why players are scoring more than ever.
Thinking Basketball even made a video describing how the NBA has CONTINUALLY made scoring easier for crying out loud. 😂

The kind of defensive tenacity Minesota is demonstrating in these playoffs was normal in the NBA in the 90s, and we're seeing the effects on some of the top players like Jokic and Murray just to name a few. The botttom line is today's NBA is too soft.

According to Jxmy’s most recent video Jamal Murray is the most clutch playoff performer/playoff riser in NBA history.
The Nuggets are completely shaken by the extremely aggressive defense from the Wolves. We never should have let Bruce Brown go, and our bench is god awful now. They went all in on youth and supposed potential while their stars are in their prime. Also completely Ignoring Connelly building the Wolves strictly to beat Denver is 100% on management and Malone. I don’t blame Murray for this series. We wouldn’t have won last year without him. I put more blame on MPJ and KCP. They are there strictly to hit 3’s, and they just don’t when it matters. When MPJ hits 3’s we blow teams out.
Game 2 officiating was also dogshit, lopsided as fuck to anyone who actually watched. I like physical play, but call the game evenly if you’re gonna call something. They let MN play aggressive as hell and blew the whistle on Denver for playing the same.
The NBA is very blatantly marketing the hell out of Anthony Edwards. Which I’m happy for him, he’s a complete dog, but don’t do it like this. It’s very clearly unfair and biased. Jokic and Murray don’t have remotely the same whistle that Edwards does. Call the games evenly or don’t call them at all!

I did not expect he will follow him there that early especially at the hands of the 1 and only GOAT Michael Jordan's son Anthony Edwards who is showing flashes of explosiveness, killer instinct and handles like his father.

Wow Skap, now its Murray's fault? He saved the Nuggets against the Lakers. He didn't shoot well in that series but did his thing in the clutch while hitting two game winners in 2 of their wins. Jokic has now had 17 turnovers in his last 3 playoff games (including 6 in that game 5 against the Lakers). AD was killing Jokic and the Lakers stopped giving him the ball in almost every 2nd half in that series. Jokic defers to Murray in the clutch most of the time so dont start trying to throw him under the bus when the "best player in the world" isnt playing well either.

Minnesota in a nice easy sweep. The Wolves are built for a title. They have classic bigs, 2 guards that are playing out of their minds, wings that are committed to defense and get rewarded by their star player routinely, and they make the hustle plays that count.
And these losses are not a Jokic problem. This is a Denver problem. Denver was constructed to beat the Lakers. If that was the only team in their way, it works. But not for the way Minnesota is constructed. THAT team is built to beat...guess who? DENVER!...and everybody else.

I feel so bad for Jokic, whenever he has an off-shooting night, it's 99% that they lose the match because there's no one on this Denver team that can take over games. Post-injury Murray is good for the 2023 playoffs and that's about it. Look at the other superstars in the league: Embiid has Maxey, Luka has Kyrie, Ant has KAT and Gobert, JT has an all-star team, Giannis has Dame and Middleton, Shai has a young and full of potential supporting cast. With Jokic's pass-first mentality it's absolutely crucial to find him an elite duo partner with consistency, not the injury-prone coinflip that is Murray.

    *Use* *your* *butt* *more..*
Anthony Edwards revealed in an interview in 2020 about the advice he received from the six-time champion. “It was mostly just, ‘Use your butt more in the post, in the mid-post,‘” Edwards said. He continued, “I feel like that was the best thing he told me. He was like, ‘You’re stronger than I am. You’re more athletic. You’re bigger than me. Use your butt more and create more space and you’re gonna be unguardable.'”
I guess Ant followed the real #23 and GOAT’s advice. We keep saying he’s 1984, 1988, or 1989 Michael Jordan. That fadeaway jumper and shrug just transported Ant to 1992! I wonder if Mike is watching and thinking, maybe I should give this kid a call? Mike doesn’t mind mentoring kids unlike LeBron who is only about enhancing his legacy. Mike didn’t need to mentor Kobe but he did.
Man, this series is over if Jamal Murray gets suspended for Game 3. Even if he did play, Denver would still be an underdog. I’ve never seen suffocating defense like what the TWolves displayed last night since maybe the 2008 Celtics. And they’re so long. No Gobert, no problem. Get 6’9 Jayden McDaniels and Shai’s cousin, Nickiel at 6’5, to go double Jamal.
I thought this would be the best playoff series of this season but it actually hasn’t. The TWolves have been destroying the reigning champs. It’s over. Unless Denver can somehow steal Game 3 but predictably lose Game 4, they would need another 3-1 comeback miracle like they did twice in 2020. If Denver loses Game 3, then they’ll get swept.
I thought if the Lakers had beaten Denver, they would be in the Finals. Wrong again. The Lakers weren’t beating Minnesota either. It really doesn’t matter who the Lakers gets this summer. They can sign Klay Thompson for the mid level and they’re still not beating Denver and Minnesota next year or the years after that. How is a 6’7 SG at age 35 going to help the Lakers surpass those teams? Lakers don’t have the size and youth to beat Minnesota.
The Western Conference is going to be ruled by Minnesota and Denver for the next 10 years. It might be ruled only by Minnesota with the way they’ve been annihilating Denver as of late. Payback for last year. Anthony Edwards’ jersey sales are going to skyrocket after this series.

I'm not a fan of either team, but Edwards and Jokic are remarkable when both play at a high level. One could argue the removal of James, Steph, and KD; the product is damn enjoyable. Now, I have noticed that some players are sometimes labeled stars or superstars when they have unique games. The odd couple on Fox had a few conversations about Edwards and Bruson being stars or superstars. My question is, what is the timetable for determining what is labeled? Is it four games, a playoff run, or when the sports analysis talks about you? I believe Murray is about average, maybe a little higher, but Jokic had a younger Chris Paul, not prime, but Phoenix. But there are no excuses because Denver has to adjust like any other team. It's just something to think about when we label players stars who may not be suitable for that level. We saw a lot of 0 points a game from players with high contracts. Those players who are called stars and superstars can't live up to the pressure.
