in a post-game interview tonight, finchy talked about how trading for rudy created a defensive culture in minnesota and this game tonight shows that and as a life-long wolves fan who was starting to lose faith in KAT the past couple of years before the rudy trade, it is an amazing thing to see.

This was one of my favorite games I've ever sat down and watched, seeing so many defensive clips in the highlights is god tier. beautiful on both sides of the ball
Lakers found the way to limit Jokics in the bubble but has turned away from it ever since. You need good reliable bigs to throw at him every second. Make him run up and down the court, make him work harder on offense, target him on defense, foul him here and there to wear him out. You cannot let a guy like Jokic have a matchup advantage any second, he's gonna cook your entire team.
You need a functional offence around those bigs though. Spacing otherwise is dreadful and the offence stalls. Wolves overcome that because both Karl and Naz are weapons from 3. Can’t just chuck any bigs in there.

This changes everything for me. They dominated the Suns, and if they continue to dominate the Nuggets they should be the title favorite. There isn’t a team they can’t matchup with, and they have maybe the best bench remaining in the playoffs. We all know the Celtics and how good they are, but their prone to late season meltdowns, and this Wolves defense is primed to cause another one.

This Wolves defense is very similar to the 19-20 Lakers where everyone on the floor can play great defense and they've got so many bigs that they can just throw them at Jokic, wearing him out defensively. Also, shutting down the Jokic-Gordon's lob plays is one of the keys to this series.

I knew when he was drafted he’d become apart of the culture shift. Adding Rudy to that team with so many willing defenders (Nickiel, JD, Ant, Conley, pretty sure it’s one more name I’m missing idk if they still have him) but I knew that the 2 big lineup could work if everybody committed on defense and they’ve done it. @Ewach21 Sure Naz might have exaggerated the contact, but you gotta do what you gotta do to get calls in todays game, every team does it. And he was guarding Murray on the perimeter and blocked Jokic clean at the rim 2-3 times on the same possesion. The Wolves have exceptional half court trappers in Nickeil and Jaden, Kyle and Naz are amazing help defenders. You gotta understand the game to realize how beautiful that defense was, and they're doing it in Denver altitude.
