Seeing this video of two pilots in a seemingly small cockpit, that sometimes we forget that these people are actually manoeuvring a huge 300+ pax capacity aircraft.
@@jeffwayne3054 A computer can't do anything without the pilots telling it what to do. We have no idea how much process happen before the flight 2 hours before the crew even board, and during the flight, all the checklists, weather's check, communications with the ground and between planes over oceans and fuel calculations". Pilots are way underpaid compared to the responsabilities they have (300 people's lives). I never saw a surgeon taking care of 300 people for 11 hours straight, and still a surgeon has 5x the salary of a pilot.
Another great video. The view, even though it was cloudy and rainy , was beautiful. I enjoy seeing how professional you and the other pilots are. Keep up the great work.

Amazing to get a pilots perspective flying through bad weather on approach to HK. Flew out of HK last summer in a electrical storm. Some scary moments but always good knowing your are in the hands of consumate professionals like these guys. Thanks for sharing !

I suppose this is because of a maintenance problem, if the MEL allows it to fly and use it this way and it is approved by the company, they can use it. Am I right captain Laffon? (Btw, I've never seen this before, how did you manage the steering on landing?)

They really only control the plane less than 10% of the time. The computer takes the rest.

Having flown into Hong Kong on a 777 a couple of times, this was really fun to watch! Thanks for sharing!

I flew into HK in 1973 so this video is so cool, one handed on the steering wheel at the end. Fun! Thank you
1973 would have been the old Kai Tak airport.
So did I. Have been back dozens of times since but nothing beats the old Kai Tak landings for spectacular views of old Kowloon.
