5 Things I wish I knew - Before i started playing Guild Wars 2

- Just 5 things that come to mind that I wish I had a bit more information on, prior to launching into Guild Wars 2 for what I think is one of the pinnacles of MMORPG experiences to date.

I juuuuust bought gw1 complete collection and started it last night - and hoo boy was it trippy because I was like..."wait...warmaster grast...? ralena and vassar...?? holy shit!!!" it's making me feel a little bad going through ascalonian catacombs dungeon in gw2 now XD just got to post searing, can't wait to play through the story.
I even found beacon of ages in pre-searing, before isgarren moved it to horn of maguuma, freakin blew my mind! XD
edit: teeeeeeechnically the ascalonian humans took the charr's homeland, so the searing is just the charr trying to take their land back XD
I spent 13 years on WoW, a few years trying out lots of other MMOs, the last 2 years on FF14 which has been my favourite out of them all so far and now the past month on GW2. I have to say I've never felt so lost in a game as I do in this, especially regarding the builds and weapon option possibilities.
Thats fair man! Its layout it very different to games like wow etc
My guild did an iron man challenge the other week. Free to play, no boosts, no trading, no mysteries etc.
Fastest time 1-80 was less than 7 hours. :D

Gw2 has so many options the problem is analysis paralysis lol.
Biggest reccomendation if find a good guild (it's kind of in the name). There are so many ways to do things having help is required and the community is so darn nice it should be easy to find one.
Exp hint: Murder every yellow mob. Gw2 has a mechanic where mobs that don't get killed often yield bonus exp. I have no clue why, but they do. So when your running to that next year and see a group of birds. Go brutalized them for some quick xp.

Your absolutely right. Honestly my fix was by slow dropping the dlc to myself. And having a good friend as a guide for most of it who had 10 years experience to ask any questions when I got stuck. They helped me get my mounts asap as soon as I got 80 and finished main story. After that I soared once I finally achieved my wings.
