Nice. I’ve never thought of brushing it on, I always hawk and trowel it when I’m doing repairs. When I’m not decorating, most of my plastering work consists of covering over Artex, not the easiest of ceilings to do
Many a finish created with artex… see it a lot in my area. Clever how it’s done really with the shell patterns etc… 👍 where’s your brother hiding ? Haven’t seen his videos in a while. Best wishes!
Your stipple brush looks much stronger than others I have seen on-line which seem to have rubber prongs rather than bristles. Could you tell me where I can one like yours please for my decorator? Someone below in the comments mentioned a sealer and I saw something else on youtube about preparing the area with something to aid porosity but can't find it now. The ceiling area was repaired over 10 years ago when there was a leak from upstairs but my decorator couldn't replicate the stipple effect like you can so it looks a bit bald compared with the rest of the ceiling which is nearly 40 years old now. Could you advise on this please as about to redecorate again? Thank you so much Gill
I like to repair or patch the artex to match the surrounding artex pattern. If I applied a different pattern to the original my customers would go nuts. Just saying cos I repair artex ceilings every day due to leaks, light fitting removal, extension work, accidental damage etc
I'm waiting for artex to come back in. I don't think the artex itself is the problem. It's the old fashioned patterns. Some geometric patterned artex would look cool as a feature wall
Little tip for you.. wet the edge around the patch so the artex doesn’t stick to the surface blends lot better
As an older lady you gave me confidence thanks Debra
Another great video mate always look forward to see them keep them coming 👍
Cheers mate
I can’t believe they had you remove a lovely detailed ceiling rose to have it replaced with stippled r tex 🤷🏻♂️
To be honest the room has a better feel to it. The roses where a little OTT..
Very helpful, thank you sir. You now given me confidence to do a match up & repair on a small job that I've been ignoring for ages!
me to
Him: you need a clean bucket
Me: that is not a clean bucket
Brain: refuses to listen to anything else so I have to watch twice!

Hi
Can you us ready mixed artex or does it have to be powder and mix it yourself.
Regards
Alan
Nice work
Can you not use a multi finish
Hi there just came across this and I have hideous fan like dated atrex pattern. Could I artex over that using the stippling method?
Nice match

Artex is timeless.
Those textured ceilings are terrible
Should use a coat of artex sealer first, stop the suction, I know as doing artex since 1986
Used diluted PVA to seal and helpd with suction.. only patches
Where on earth canna git one of dem brushes?
your local DIY store. Thanks
Absolute a joke
