He warms up with the left hand because there’s usually a beer in the other hand
🚬 Cigarette
@@thomasmacgruber6701 that's in his mouth
He invited Tiger for a beer after their round and Tiger said, "I'm going to the range",
JD said, man you practice a lot, Tiger, "well if I had you swing I wouldn't have to".
😂😂
🤣🤣🤣
I really like John Daly. He’s just real, not perfect but true to himself and not afraid the let you know. Much respect. Hope you can turn the health issues around sir. I know it’s tough.
I’ve seen John play twice in person…
The sound was un explainable.
The air sizzled when he hit the ball.
Unbelievable.💪👍🥃
He draws a crowd
You should watch Kyle
Sizzling like the bacon he had for breakfast.
@@ragnaraxelson59 it's the most healthy thing of the day for him I'm sure
jesus im going to have a seizure watching this
Holy shit. I thought I was having a seizure.
Top tier comment right here
The video is having the seizure for you.
If humans filmed themselves stop motion will it look like this? LOL
I so wanted to click away from this seizure-inducing video, but dangitt, that's John f-ing Daly, I can't click away. I feel your comment!!!
Can’t wait to see little John develop and bring that Daly backswing back to the tour.
One was enough.

A legend of his era and proof that success can be achieved in different ways!
he has the most natural skill imo
Depends on how you define success.
@@jacobr4558 He's a millionaire - gets to play golf as much as he wants - on his terms for that matter. If that isn't success idk what is.
@@mattsoares608 then that's your version of success. Cool
@@jacobr4558 i think success isn't defined, it's what you make of it.
The flexibility in his swing for a man of his size is freakishly good!
I always knew JD was a talented golfer but hearing how he warms up, or lack thereof, before heading to the tee just highlighted how natural that talent is.
I saw John warm up the same way at the Buick Open in Grand Blank, MI. People in the stands were totally amazed how accurate his shots were, and he was competently relaxed no big deal...🏌️♂️
So composed. John Daly is a good man and it looks like he is raising one as well.
Thanks for uploading this at 6fps
JD is really talented. I followed him around when the LA Open was at Valencia Country Club. Tiger was at his peak then.
You have to love this guy. Man the dude is comfortable being himself, He doesn’t care what you think of him and he loves his life. I say good for you JD. The most raw talent on tour. He knows he could be the best in the world but he doesn’t want to be. Nothing wrong at being the 250 best in the world out of 6 billion
6 billion don't play golf, but i get what you're saying
One word: Legend
JD's back swing is a sight to behold.
I love John Daly, just fun people to watch and listen.
There's a great doc on him called Hit It Hard
My uncle owned the Met Life blimps and I went to Bay Hill while helping work on the blimps. Daly was hitting the Wilson Killer Whale at the time and I brought mine with me. I followed him around the course and he saw me with it a couple times. There was a backup on one of the holes and he put his cigarette in his mouth and slightly motioned for me to hand it to him. I gave it to him and he signed it just matter-of-factly. I've still got it, and some great memories.
I hit in the UK longdrive finals in 1994/5, we used the Killer Whale for that tournament with Firestick shaft. Wilson golf balls too. Lunch with Daly then top 12 hit on tv.
@@anyexpat Ha. Cool. Those Ti Firesticks were amazing.
@@bigblocklawyer Remember it clearly, i was a huge fan of Daly and had lunch with him and hit in the longdrive finals, he hit balls for the crowd and had great banter. He won the open the following year so it was 94. Pal of mine from high school caddied for Daly in qualifiers in 91 i think it was (He fired his caddy as i think he was late or drunk). school friend would have been 16/17 and good golfer at Gullane where the qualifiers were. Daly qualified and gave him his tour bag and 5000 pounds. Cool guy!
John daly is a true american and a true champion athlete and a purveyor and enjoyer of many beers god bless
I met someone who worked for him many years ago. Nothing, and I mean nothing but good things to say for this guy.
John Daly is one of a kind Pro Player. All other Pro players, as John says, does workouts in the morning, hits a thousand shots on the range, putts for an hour, plays the round, then goes and hits more practice shots and putts. John just goes out and plays. All the other players hit so many shots, they either get injuries or wear their body out.
Pride of my study, a picture of JD and me, signed by John at the World Matchplay at Wentworth, he was hitting left hand only drives in the range, with a can of coke in his right hand. He had time for everyone, class act with incredible natural talent
Good to see big John pure talent
What a talent and such a beautiful humble guy ( love how he tried to give Tiger a tip which I’ll bet was spot on )
So John Daly swings all out and the ball barely goes 250? That makes me question the accuracy of a golf simulator.
That was about 270 and he clearly says he’s only swinging 85% as it’s the first swing of the day....
I just followed him on the charles Schwab, he over shot a 306 par 4, this is def off
Sims are not 100% accurate for distance... they're pretty good at tracing shot shapes though
@@beeker_8190 They're pretty accurate but the fact that the guy was putting clubs in the bag upside down makes me think they might not have things dialed in there on the studio. Still wouldn't be that far off though
@@beeker_8190 they’re pretty damn accurate. I own a GCQuad and all the data is incredible accurate. That’s why you see all the players using them on ranges during tournaments
Most beautiful cut..
That 1hand shot was a beauty.
That swing.
Kara's legs though 😍
john daly...the man of the people
Long-John Daly and Long-John Holmes are my two all-time favs of Long-Johns.
I swing like JD and I don’t ever warm up, I just go straight to the 1st tee box.
Such a genuine guy
His swing is just so natural.
grip it and rip it. I wonder if it's really that simple? Probably not, I've seen plenty of guys on the range try that with ugly results.
My favorite person to watch
John Daly is amazing
he is our favorite.
JD is a beast. Super nice guy too. Signed my kids glove and talked for a while. Down to earth
Daly aged like a fine box wine
I think JD is one of the most naturally talented golfers who has ever lived. He once invited Tiger to come along with some of the guys to hang out for the evening. Tiger declined, stressing that he needed to stay at the course to practice more. Tiger said, "If I were as talented as you, I wouldn't have to [stay and practice]."
Ya than beat Tiger the next day by 6 shots😂😂
@@cadillachernandez2271 tiger was practicing working on his coed naked push-ups all night with one of side chicks.
@@theliftexpert yeah, Tiger likes doing push-ups on top of the ladies…John just loves fun, but to the extreme. Extreme drinking/drugs, extreme gambling, extreme golf. The take away here is he’s an extreme guy.
one of, if not *the* most naturally talented. No exercise, a swing that really has not changed. He and Fred Couples represent what can be done - I think - if a swing can be achieved (and controlled) early in life that goes way beyond the norm.
John's golf swing is second to none...ever
Just a genuine guy man.
Light blue is on a good one.. crackin' me up
Living legend
The best way to explain watching Daly in person is when Shooter McGavin is on the ninth hole but all I can hear is Happy Gilmore's crowd on the twelfth going absolutely ape sh*t! Wild.
Charlie Rymer...the Big-timer... Miss you all on Morning Drive...cool show. Hope all is well...
That is one impressive swing.
Met JD... talk about being gracious. I root for him every time he plays.
I was a walking scorer for Paula Creamer. On that day she shot 1 under.
But Miriam Lee shot 5 under. What a pleasure walking with these Gals.
11:51
It's worth the wait
Those one-handed shots are a lot harder than they look
John Daly GOAT
G.O.A.T
That’s the way I played golf !!!! Drinking beer 🍺 goes with golf and billiards 🎱
His power even "at 85%" is astonishing. Wow.
they be poppin' and lockin'
it sounds like a gd canon blast in that studio. jesus he hits hard.
Hate on him all you want… this dude is an absolute Legend.
Maybe I drink too much... but is this video making anyone else nauseous with the lousy frame rate? Besides that... long live John Daly. He is my hero.
Jesus, what power!
Giving hope to slob amateurs since 1990 🙏❤️🙌🍺🍺🍺🍺
Crooked Stick was 91
I could totally see
JD punting a football. He has a kicker vibe, janakowski like.
Him and Morten Andersen have almost the same Mullet :D:D hahaha
@@danielhansen3982 Lol! You're not wrong!!
what fps is this video 30?
John Daly 1st in my dream fourball
Shout out to Diamond Resorts, having stayed at many of their properties they are an incredible value and always have exceptional staff that make you feel welcome.
Nice swan
He crunches that ball
The legend doesn't even bother to take off his gold yacht master!
John was sitting at a bar all day drinking with everyone and Tiger walked by. John invited him to join, but he said something like, "If I had your talent, I'd be right there next to you." and walked off to practice and work out more.
Dictionary definition of "living large":
Picture of John Daly.
JD your the coolest.
You’re grammar are really good
@@griffinhankins9237 Your grammar is great, too.
Daly is my guy
Well, how far did he hit it?
poor carlton... trapped forever in a dance move
He turns his hips so fast, also always always has his head down through impact and after. I’m a bogey golfer, been playing for 30 years, never broke 72, but I’ve found the best rounds or shots for that matter are when I feel my hips moving well and my head down. For a big guy like John, he has very quick hips and looks like he can twist like a twisler, amazing torque. 👍🇨🇦🍻
It's what Ben Hogan called the magic move. It's the difference between good and bad golfers.
If the downswing isn't initiated with the lower body, there's just no chance of a proper golf swing.
Dont be fooled by that little paunch. He is a world class athlete. Love the ethic.
Does John primarily use the left arm/hand to hit the golf ball?
No. Both Hands. And because he is righty... his right arm will be the main power source.
Blokes a fucking genius!!! Simple x 👍🏏
Legend. Innate talent. Carefree, doesn't over think it. A serious competitor that doesn't take things too seriously. Tiger: "If I had your talent, JD, I'd be doing the same thing."
Sadly JD will say the same thing Mickey Mantle said. “If I would have known I was going to live this long, I would have taken better care of myself”
Ray Allen the king of doing the same motion without any deviation is good at golf? who would have thought
If only he had been more dedicated, but it's hard to teach work ethic. On the other hand few of us realize how challenging their lives are so they need releases in their lives too.
Pause it at 10:59 and look at the twist of the hips and head down, that’s where his power and accuracy comes from in my opinion. 👍🍻
John likes to hit the bar after the round not the range lol 😊
Modern day Walter Hagen!
He’s the Lemmy of golf.
JD is totally me....straight up feel player....a lot more different than other golfers....he just goes out and plays golf, doesn't get too analytical with it
Yeah, except he plays well
That looks like the 1st at Kiawah on the screen…
K
The framerate hurts my head
Back in his day ? Him connecting off the T box wad the equivalent to Babe Ruth connecting on a baseball. It just had a different Crack, that split the face of ya club sound . Just insane
17fps is impressive.
Remember when flying it 250 was long?...
everybody is different
How did he do that without a smoke in his mouth
i have the same driver
The people's champ! Move over Rock.
How much sneeeech did Charlie do that morning? Lol dude was wild
I dont know man, those guys standing there....dangerous
what the hell is wrong with videos frames
John can bust the golf ball just dont know were its going hahahahhahaha
The guy in the light blue shirt. "Do you think you would be better if you weren't fat?" And cutting Daly off to make him hit a drive when he was explaining his short game. What a jerk.
Man I hate the got cut him off when he was discussing his short game and keeping that shower low. That was some top level couching happening
