Truth or Square was my personal childhood SpongeBob game. It was one of the first games I got on my Wii and I personally had a great time, probably wouldn't hold up for me today but I enjoyed it as a kid.
Cosmic shake is fire man, it even gives me that nostalgia that I didn’t think I’d be able to get from an entirely new SpongeBob game & not a remake, haven’t even finished it yet
I just ordered a copy and I’m super excited to play. I love SpongeBob so much and it’s literally my favorite cartoon of all time. I now watch SpongeBob with my young kiddos and have gotten them into it as well.
It still not better than battle of Bikini bottom. The Boss fights are compare to it boring. And whole game is too easy. Battle of Bikini bottom had so many hidden content and this is why i liked it so much. Small Details like visiting spongebob house & many other things like this maked you smile. Unfortunately, in cosmic shake they left a lot out and the game unfortunately feels unfinished. Dont get me wrong.. i like the game but iz wasnt that great than i expect it to be. It has a lot of potential that hasn't been used well
@@borub.817 yeah, i currently play cosmic shake and I only enjoyed the filmmaking part in the game. I feel like level design sucks so much here, beucase it feels huge and empty. They did much better job at filling spaces in battle for bikini bottom tbh.

Battle for Bikini Bottom is one of my favorite games ever. I remember playing the movie game some as a kid but I never finished it. I’m going to try and play it again soon, why do you think it’s the best?
The SpongeBob game I played the most growing up was BfBB, got it as a random gift not expecting much but was really impressed by how good it actually was! I recently started The Cosmic Shake, and while it starts off a bit slower than I’d prefer I’m really enjoying it so far
i got the movie on my 5th birthday so that one was the one i was growing up with the most, later on i had revenge of the flying dutchman, lights camera pants and others and relatively late i got bfbb ...but i def should've gotten it earlier since it's on the same quality level as the movie, they're the 2 best spongebob games made
Creature From the Krusty Krab was an amazing game. So many different settings, each with such cool and unique atmosphere, and the stellar soundtrack!! This was my first Spongebob game, on the PS2, and I still love to boot it up and play it to this day. Hearing you call it a “generally mediocre experience” tore my heart apart

I mean, it was the e]issue celebrating the 10-year anniversary of SpongeBob Squarepants. It's a shame that the episode was OK at best and the game wasn't given the development time it needed.
For the top 4 that is more or less the ranking I'd give them. Flying Dutchman is a very interesting game. It has a lot of unique elements to it being made so early in the show's run. It's not so reference heavy and has some unique level designs. It was clear a lot of love was put into it, and it's a shame what happened to the studio afterwards. The Movie game suffered a lot from it's more rushed development, I remember it feeling a bit 'cheaper' when playing it when it came out, with slideshow cutscenes clearly based on a unfinished movie script and a lot of reused assets. But something make from the scraps of BFBB is still going to play well. It play's better than Flying Dutchman, but I like the aesthetic of Flying Dutchman more. Cosmic Shake is very good, I just played the main campaign and enjoyed it. The graphics and level design are all top notch, and it controls well. I have a list of small gripes with it (meh soundtrack with not enough variety during levels, a few technical issues, not enough enemy variants, ect) but it's a solid 7.5/10 for me. And Battle For Bikini Bottom is in the higher ranks of platformers in general.
I played Battle for Bikini Bottom when the remaster came out and I thought it was decent but I didn't grow up with it so I don't have the same attachment to it that a lot of others do

In defense of COTKK I will say that though the game itself is weird, I love that each level (though there are few) is really quite long and is jam-packed with lots of clever gameplay and fun quirks throughout. Spongebob's dreams are all great platforming levels with cool puzzles and fun beat-em-up sections. Patrick's dreams are primarily beat-em-up with the exception of rocket rodeo which is one of the best chain-scrolling levels I've played in any game. Plankton's dreams are a blast with the chases, and it all comes together with a final race. Another note is that this game's soundtrack is my favorite out of any SpongeBob game, the reprises that are present are amazing, and the themes from starfish man (idle) to hypnotic highway are so fantastic.

One of my favorite SpongeBob game is light camera pants, i have many memories with my brothers while playing it, it's also really fun and i wish someone would remake it even though i don't know how to do it.

it's good that they reused a lot of stuff for the movie because that makes it feel like a bfbb2 since we all loved bfbb so much, it's like the 2 similar games but each have their unique touch to it ..i'd even love a 3rd or 4th game in that style or with these assets, because the overall base of what made those 2 games possible was just sooo good

Battle of Bikini Bottom absolutely deserved number one. I will say personally, going off of what you said about Rehydrated, I will always prefer the OG over the remake. Rehydrated left out a few minor details that were uniqe and key to the original. To name a couple, the teleportation boxes do not have the animation like it did in the original. Not sure why they took that out but I was very upset when I went to teleport and there was no animation of the box closing on top of you like there was in the original. Similarly, when you exit those boxes, you would pop out, again with that animation of the box flying open. That detail was left out of the remake and I'm not sure why. Also in the original, certain robots you killed would made a little fart noise on death, however in Rehyrated that detail was left out. Each of these details are so miniscule, but these little additives were absolutely the cherry on top of the original game. Maybe that's just me, but those tiny characteristics really are tied to that nostalgic feel and are honestly for myself are what made Battle of Bikini Bottom so special. Things like that are, again, what made the game unique. I have to say I really enjoyed watching this video today. There's some real authenticity to your content. I can tell you make videos for the passion of it. Please, keep up the good work, CZcams needs more content creators rather than people trying to be so "buisnessy"
Facts, I mean it only seems like SpongeBob is getting them tho, but the new ben10 show did get one ima play that, other than that idk bout these new shows enough to get games that I’d like, like the fairly odd parents & jimmy neutron games, I’d love to see THQ remaster some of those
Battle for Bekini Bottom is definitely my favorite game of all time and the only problem I can think of is Mr. Krabs voice actor. Sucks they couldnt get time for the remake. Definitely gonna cop the new game tho it looks amazing!
Great vid! I absolute adored Battle for Bikini Bottom as a little kid, and I loved Rehydrated even more than the original. And I just finished The Cosmic Shake, and I think I liked it even more! I just had such a blast with it
My little brother broke our disc for Revenge of the Flying Dutchman for Gamecube. I remember my grandma buying us Battle for Bikini Bottom (thinking it was the same thing) to replace it and we were upset that it wasn't the same game lol Best mistake she ever made!
Revenge of the Flying Dutchman was one of the first video games I ever got as a kid and I loved it, it was on a blue disc for PS2 which was part of the reason why the loading times sucked, but if you had it for GameCube, it was no problem at all. I actually enjoyed the story from that game along with the different areas SpongeBob had to collect the letter tiles in. I’m glad it was ranked high on this list.
BfBB on Gamecube was one of my introductory games back in the day.Then I played Creature from the Krusty Krab. It was so bizarre and different that I thought it was so cool lol. Would replay those levels over and over. FINALLY got into Rehydrated recently after seeing all these Cosmic Shake reviews. Excited to give it a try.

When I was younger as a kid I used to play Battle for Bikini Bottom, Spongebob Movie game, and Creature of the Krusty Krab. And this is bringing back so many memories. Those games were so fun to play back then. And then when I found out they were remaking the Battle for Bikini Bottom game I was so happy and excited about it. And then I just started playing the Cosmic Shake game so it's been a good time for me playing the Spongebob games. I wished I would've played the Revenge of the Flying Dutchman game that's the one that I heard good things about but never owned the game to play it. Wished I did. I also played some of that Atlantis game that you were talking about and to me it wasn't as good as Battle for Bikini Bottom, the movie game, and Creature of the Krusty Krab in my opinion
Alright, TTJ, you talked me into it. I came here looking at old Spongebob games for nostalgia sake, after being hesitant on buying Cosmic Shake. After seeing gameplay and your perspective, I have to try it for myself.
Creature from the Krusty Krab is really underrated in my opinion. It has so much bonus content and mini games. It’s very stylized and has an amazing soundtrack. The story is interesting and I actually found the spongebob and Patrick parts to be more fun than the plankton parts. Obviously BFBB is still peak but I feel like CFTKK is slept on

7:20 The whole reason the levels aren't exactly referencing the episodes themselves in Truth or Square is because SpongeBob enters a depressive episode due to forgetting where he put the formula, so all his memories are merging together because he just can't remember properly. Truth or Square may have been mediocre, but the psp version was a great time killer when I was a kid, especially with the mini games.
Spongebob creature from the Krusty Krab and lights camera pants, battle for bikini bottom, and truth or sponge are one of my favorites. Part of me hopes they get rehydrated.

Cosmic shake js really damn good levels are long enough it gets a tad repetit but im only on the pirate world so im not done yet but so far i love it. The dlc costumes are easter eggy and fun robo spongebob i see there is a costume from bfbb and a costume from the first movie i have yet to unlock but so far great
If I say SpongeBob in cosmic shake in his Chaparrone costume in the game, I would just pause it for second glance at the costume, and run away from the TV screen. Seriously

The movie game has to be my number one and I really hope they remaster it- especially after playing through bfbb and the cosmic shake . The different types of levels as well as the challenge things put into levels- where you had to kill waves of guys- helped to keep the platforming fresh. I also liked being able to upgrade the abilities after spending the time to collect all of the weight things . The last thing that the movie game does- that the others don't- is that it almost gives you the satisfaction of watching the spongebob movie while you play the game. Kinda like how by listening to the "Pick of Destiny" album, you can almost see the movie playing in your head
Heropants should be lower than Planton's robotic revenge. Heropants is much buggier and there loads of frame drops on every version of the game. (Yes, even the handheld version)
Cosmic shake beats bfbb for creativity, style, and movement. Its been a while since i played bfbb but as far as i remember it beats Cosmic shake when it comes to overall amount of content and level design. (Even though cosmic shakes level design is still really good) Everything else is matched and since I think movement is the most important thing in 3d platforming, followed by level design, for me Cosmic shake takes the cake just by a hair.
1st SpongeBob game I played was SpongeBob SquarePants Super Sponge, then Revenge Of The Flying Dutchman, PS2/GameCube Creature From The Krusty Krab, OG Battle Of Bikini Bottom on PC but I was stuck on Hall Of Arms anyway, SpongeBob's Boating Bash, Atlantis SquarePantis, Rehydrated Battle Of Bikini Bottom and The Cosmic Shake
Kinda makes me think how everyone says there is so much SpongeBob games but to be for real there are only a few that you can fr play as like a fav game or like as a main game that you be inspired and interested from,if you really think about that games and movies can really get so much better and get so much main use in my opinion
Truth or Square is super underrated. It is one of my favorite video games of all time. I also feel Battle for Bikini Bottom is extremely overrated, not bad but nowhere near as good as Truth or Square
i got cosmic shake for the switch and it's an amazing spongebob game and the last spongebob game i played was the movie that was YEARS ago but man the cosmic shake is great i recommend it i might just buy it again for ps4 👍

I haven’t played a lot of these game btw I’ve played both versions of BFBB and I own both on PS4 and NGC and I e also played the Movie Game the rest I’ve either seen previews like CFTKK & ROTFD

And while the games didn't really differ much from PS2 to GameCube, I'd also get the GBA versions. They would usually change the genres due to the Handheld's limited capabilities. And as such, many of the games that had the same names like Battle for Bikini Bottom, Creature From the Krusty Krab, Lights,Camera, SquarePants, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie: The Game, and even more were ALL essentially different games altogether on the GBA/DS, compared to their HC counterparts. And surprisingly, some were just as good, if not outright BETTER than the HC ones. Since they had to think creatively to get them to tell the same exact story with less power.
my copy of revenge of the flying dutchman never worked right on ps2 bc of some weird purple layer on the CD. when it did work though I remember loving it as a kid. not as much as Scooby doo night of 100 frights but up there

Finally some love for the movie game. I adored BFBB, but the movie game was my most played hands down. As a 10 year old kid, I dragged my dad to the theater to see the movie, and adored the game. You should look at and make videos on the horrifying handheld counterparts to these games though. They're ABYSMAL

Very happy (and surprised) that Revenge was so high up haha. I guess it didn't have much competition considering what came before it in the list.

Not sure why they took that out but I was very upset when I went to teleport and there was no animation of the box closing on top of you like there was in the original. Similarly, when you exit those boxes, you would pop out, again with that animation of the box flying open. That detail was left out of the remake and I'm not sure why. Also in the original, certain robots you killed would made a little fart noise on death, however in Rehyrated that detail was left out. Each of these details are so miniscule, but these little additives were absolutely the cherry on top of the original game. Maybe that's just me, but those tiny characteristics really are tied to that nostalgic feel and are honestly for myself are what made Battle of Bikini Bottom so special. Things like that are, again, what made the game unique. I have to say I really enjoyed watching this video today. There's some real authenticity to your content. I can tell you make videos for the passion of it. Please, keep up the good work, CZcams needs more content creators rather than people trying to be so "buisnessy"
The only issue with cosmic shake is the advertising. I had NO idea this game even existed until like a week before it released.

Battle for Bekini Bottom is definitely my favorite game of all time and the only problem I can think of is Mr. Krabs voice actor. Sucks they couldnt get time for the remake. Definitely gonna cop the new game tho it looks amazing!

Revenge of the Flying Dutchman was one of the first video games I ever got as a kid and I loved it, it was on a blue disc for PS2 which was part of the reason why the loading times sucked, but if you had it for GameCube, it was no problem at all. I actually enjoyed the story from that game along with the different areas SpongeBob had to collect the letter tiles in. I’m glad it was ranked high on this list.
BfBB on Gamecube was one of my introductory games back in the day.Then I played Creature from the Krusty Krab. It was so bizarre and different that I thought it was so cool lol. Would replay those levels over and over. FINALLY got into Rehydrated recently after seeing all these Cosmic Shake reviews. Excited to give it a try.

When I was younger as a kid I used to play Battle for Bikini Bottom, Spongebob Movie game, and Creature of the Krusty Krab. And this is bringing back so many memories. Those games were so fun to play back then. And then when I found out they were remaking the Battle for Bikini Bottom game I was so happy and excited about it. And then I just started playing the Cosmic Shake game so it's been a good time for me playing the Spongebob games. I wished I would've played the Revenge of the Flying Dutchman game that's the one that I heard good things about but never owned the game to play it. Wished I did. I also played some of that Atlantis game that you were talking about and to me it wasn't as good as Battle for Bikini Bottom, the movie game, and Creature of the Krusty Krab in my opinion
Alright, TTJ, you talked me into it. I came here looking at old Spongebob games for nostalgia sake, after being hesitant on buying Cosmic Shake. After seeing gameplay and your perspective, I have to try it for myself.

Creature from the Krusty Krab is really underrated in my opinion. It has so much bonus content and mini games. It’s very stylized and has an amazing soundtrack. The story is interesting and I actually found the spongebob and Patrick parts to be more fun than the plankton parts. Obviously BFBB is still peak but I feel like CFTKK is slept on

The whole reason the levels aren't exactly referencing the episodes themselves in Truth or Square is because SpongeBob enters a depressive episode due to forgetting where he put the formula, so all his memories are merging together because he just can't remember properly.
Truth or Square may have been mediocre, but the psp version was a great time killer when I was a kid, especially with the mini games.

Cosmic shake js really damn good levels are long enough it gets a tad repetit but im only on the pirate world so im not done yet but so far i love it. The dlc costumes are easter eggy and fun robo spongebob i see there is a costume from bfbb and a costume from the first movie i have yet to unlock but so far great
If I say SpongeBob in cosmic shake in his Chaparrone costume in the game, I would just pause it for second glance at the costume, and run away from the TV screen. Seriously

The movie game has to be my number one and I really hope they remaster it- especially after playing through bfbb and the cosmic shake . The different types of levels as well as the challenge things put into levels- where you had to kill waves of guys- helped to keep the platforming fresh. I also liked being able to upgrade the abilities after spending the time to collect all of the weight things . The last thing that the movie game does- that the others don't- is that it almost gives you the satisfaction of watching the spongebob movie while you play the game. Kinda like how by listening to the "Pick of Destiny" album, you can almost see the movie playing in your head
Heropants should be lower than Planton's robotic revenge.
Heropants is much buggier and there loads of frame drops on every version of the game. (Yes, even the handheld version)
Cosmic shake beats bfbb for creativity, style, and movement.
Its been a while since i played bfbb but as far as i remember it beats Cosmic shake when it comes to overall amount of content and level design. (Even though cosmic shakes level design is still really good)
Everything else is matched and since I think movement is the most important thing in 3d platforming, followed by level design, for me Cosmic shake takes the cake just by a hair.

I grew up watching SpongeBob too.
Kinda makes me think how everyone says there is so much SpongeBob games but to be for real there are only a few that you can fr play as like a fav game or like as a main game that you be inspired and interested from,if you really think about that games and movies can really get so much better and get so much main use in my opinion

Truth or Square is super underrated. It is one of my favorite video games of all time. I also feel Battle for Bikini Bottom is extremely overrated, not bad but nowhere near as good as Truth or Square

I haven’t played a lot of these game btw I’ve played both versions of BFBB and I own both on PS4 and NGC and I e also played the Movie Game the rest I’ve either seen previews like CFTKK & ROTFD
Creature from the krusty crab was a game I loved as a kid. My favorite section was the Alaskan bull worm section.

I loved the SpongeBob games growing up. And while the games didn't really differ much from PS2 to GameCube, I'd also get the GBA versions.
They would usually change the genres due to the Handheld's limited capabilities. And as such, many of the games that had the same names like Battle for Bikini Bottom, Creature From the Krusty Krab, Lights,Camera, SquarePants, The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie: The Game, and even more were ALL essentially different games altogether on the GBA/DS, compared to their HC counterparts.
And surprisingly, some were just as good, if not outright BETTER than the HC ones. Since they had to think creatively to get them to tell the same exact story with less power.
Plankton’s Robotic Revenge was my first game ever…playing it was like magic though probably not because of it’s own achievements.

Finally some love for the movie game. I adored BFBB, but the movie game was my most played hands down. As a 10 year old kid, I dragged my dad to the theater to see the movie, and adored the game.
You should look at and make videos on the horrifying handheld counterparts to these games though. They're ABYSMAL
