I love Rayman 3 for the amount of childhood nostalgia it carries. For some reason, the artistic choices for the maps, wacky plot, characters, and the repetitive intense music really stuck with me. I remember as a child, I used to really spend time admiring the design for the locations in the game.
it is the best easily
Yes! The reason that Rayman holds such a special place in my heart is because it feels so unique. No other game franchise seems to come close to copying the style.
Land of The Livid dead always made me dreamy, loved the music and how it looked
I literally only played Rayman 2 and as a kid I was obsessed by it. Felt like a huge adventure.
Legends, Origins, Rayman 2 and 3 are all phenomenal and even the original is great if not a tad ridiculous. Such a shame how they left him to die.
He'll be back 😊 Someday, we'll get Rayman 4❤
@@gregorsamsa2271 we hope so :)
@@gregorsamsa2271honestly I'd rather have another legends type game
Why do you call the original ridiculous? Is it because of the difficulty?
The first was a groundbreaking game!
Ain't that the truth; they were _consistently_ smashing out some of the greatest platformers of all time and then they just... stopped?
I still remember the hype watching the first trailer for "Rayman 4" before they turned it into a party game, and wonder how the franchise would've fared in an alternate universe where that original concept got released
I jst love the detail and jokes in Rayman 3. For example if you hit globox a few times he sometimes says "Quit it! The manual says you're my best friend!" I hit him on accident the first time and it came out of nowhere and I still think this is one of the funniest things in a game ever.
I love Rayman 3 so much, I probably played through it like 50 times by now.
This year I finally played through Rayman 2 and as weird as it was, expecting something similar as Rayman 3, it was it's own unique experience with interesting strategies and techniques to use.
Sometimes I felt like Rayman 3 improved alot on the gameplay of Rayman 2 but sometimes it also felt better than 3.
As people already pointed out, it's probably dependend on what game you played first as a child.
righttttt right
I feel like the world building and story is better in 2 but combat is better in 3
2 things worth mentioning:
1. In rayman 3, you get to ride your shoe as a race car vs the other shoe. Can't get much better than that.
2. Rayman Legends would be 10/10 just for the first music map, featuring the song Ram Jam - Black Betty, but they also put an entire video game there too, entirely for free. Now thats a bargain.
Frr bro, I've always loved that they put this song in Rayman Legends and the level was so good too. I played the demo, and this is what made me want to play the full game
and also, everytime i hear this song now i always think of this level from Rayman Legends ahah 😆🔥
0:42 the new icon of Ubisoft is a dollar sign
I really hope there will be a new 3D Rayman game...
Yeah, Ubisoft did him dirty
No, 2d all the way
@@mr.smithgnrsmith7808 both, both is good
Rayman’s in the new Mario + Rabbids DLC

Never expected you to cover Rayman. Cool!
Hi framerater
Hi eball cant wait for the movie
Fun fact: Rayman Origins was actually going to be about how Rayman and his adventures came to be (his creation is even described in a guide book), but the idea was scrapped for whatever reason.
Origins and Legends are dumpster fire
@@BagzAndPresident Your point?
@@PewPawPows Probably a case of Old good, new bad.
@@BagzAndPresident Origins and Legends are Almighty
@@BagzAndPresidenttell me you never played origins and legends without telling me you didnt play it
You are right about Rayman 2. The oddness of that game was pretty unique. Probably only Tonic Trouble is the only similar game from the time. Wish they brought the weirdness back.
True. I heard Tonic Trouble was kind of a test for Ubisoft to see if a game like Rayman 2 would be possible. So that’s why they are so similar i guess 💪🏽
Oh man tonic trouble brings back a lot of memories. I think I had a CD with a beta on it which was better than the final game
@@JonasKarst There's no evidence to support that claim if it's actually 100% factual.
@@Laynel8Tonic Trouble *was* a tech demo for Rayman 2 and it ended up getting it completed and published. It's an ok game, 6/10, I beat it last year.
@@64-Bit-Gamer But what I'm asking was Tonic Trouble created as a tech demo for Rayman 2's engine? Like is there multiple articles online that back this claim up or did you get it from a fan wiki? If you're getting this information from a fan wiki, then I wouldn't trust it, since they normally just jump to conclusions and they don't cite their sources.
Oh god I love rayman 3. easily my number one on the list but that’s probably due to nostalgia
I think that's probably somewhat true. 3 is my favorite, I was born 1999, 2 was my brothers favorite who was born 1992, I think whichever you played at that prime time ended up being the favorite.
You think so? I return to 3 sometimes and it really aged well. Still great game in 2022
I really loved Rayman 3, felt like the best of 2 with new stuff added like the super powers. Not sure why it’s not appreciated as much as 2
No complaing, but i prefer Rayman 3 over 2 cause of the combat and the characters feeling more alive.
No 3 is the best I will obły way GAME GUD
I was so addicted to Rayman 2, Rayman Arena, and Rayman 3 as a child. I wish Ubisoft would allow Rayman Arena to be sold on Ubisoft. It’s a simple game but it’s SOOOO fun for me. I used to grind in that game for hours as a child.
Same here! Rayman M was goated and I miss it so much
2 and 3 were my addiction as a kid. Loved those games. 2 takes the edge for me. Loved Origins so fun and pretty, Legends is also fun and thrilling.
Origins and Legends are dumpster fire
My favourite is Rayman 3; the humour, the world building, the MUSIC (I listen to the soundtrack when I’m working). So much replay-ability with the points system!
Land. Of. The. Livid. Dead.
That OST still gives me chills
Agree with you 100%. Rayman 2 is the legend of them all.
nostalgia talking 100 percent
You also fail to mention any of the minigames in Rayman 3, which definitely added to the playtime of the game, and they were pretty fun and neat.
Rayman 1 is still my favourite but no doubt due to a heavy dose of nostalgia. Grew trying to beat that game with my brother and 3 sisters. we could never do it without the cheat code to face the final boss. i replayed it again when i was like 19 and completed it from start to finish. It was truly wonderful. Also has easily the best soundtrack in my opinion. but again...nostalgia
The art style is incredible
Rayman Legends was so damn good the time trials and daily weekly challenges were intense and you could see ghosts of the other players to see if you’re going fast enough there’s a technique to go optimal speed using punch or something I need to download it again
I played the Rayman 2 nintendo DS port. This one was so special to me. The secret swamp levels were the most special to me
excellent content and detail. subbed and liked.
So right about everything! Good ranking👌🏼
you talk with sense. I love rayman legends and rayman 2. They're both great games everyone should try. Honestly I spent 50 hours by myself beating all the levels of legends, and I would say hundreds of hours playing with my cousin on his xbox. Rayman 2 feels extremely nostalgic, though legends does, too. Your ranking is totally fair. Well done, great video.
Origins and Legends are dumpster fire
@@BagzAndPresident Horrible taste then, got it.
Legends is just so nostalgic for me, one of the three games I had on my Xbox during childhood
Wow the nostalgia with ray man 2!!! Just sitting here trying to remember what title that was that I played so much back then. And here it is number one on the list haha let’s go!!
personally i reeeally love rayman m/arena. yeah its not mario kart but its such a unique racing game and i always come back to it
I loved it, but for arena mode. The most fun I had is weapon with timer, and create mode with only this weapon, everybody were running like crazy, trying to get away from the bomb with timer
Glad you included Arena on this list - I had it for the Gamecube as a kid but only had fuzzy memories of it until I saw this vid.
Rayman 3 was the only Rayman game I properly played and it was awesome. It reminded me of another platformer I liked called Evil Twin: Cyprien's Chronicles. Tried playing Rayman 2 after but I couldn't get into it.
"Collecting these little fairy Things"

Your ranking videos are my favorites. I prefer them to the bigger CZcamsrs. Love your voice as well. Keep going you’re doing great!
Rayman Revolution is my favorite it had such a great mysterious atmosphere it really made me want a fully open world where you can explore
Mine too, that and Rayman 2 are my favourite, I loved the art style, atmosphere, enemies, MUSIC, everything was so good
@@viperking6573 yep probably one of the best soundtracks in gaming
Always felt like Astal on the Saturn was kinda inspired by Rayman far as how the level designs were and the color patterns to a degree but it’s kinda hard to top Rayman I mean at the time the graphics were insane.
I'd be interested seeing you rank the Starfox games. Rayman and Starfox are the two most overlooked series, and happen to be my two favorites.
I like Rayman 2 and Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc is my most favorite of The Rayman Series.
He needs remastered versions of his games including Rayman 3 Hoodlum Havoc.
You should try Rayman 3 for the GBA if you like 2D Rayman. It's actually pretty good, though I've yet to beat it myself. And it's a completely unique game that only has a few things in common with the actual Rayman 3. Despite the name, it's more like a 2D version of Rayman 2.
Also Rayman Raving Rabbids for the GBA. It’s the only RRR game that’s a traditional platformer instead of a minigame compilation, and so the only RRR that doesn’t suck.
Facts, I was about to comment this exactly. I actually just beat it last night, super fun and challenging. It feels like a direct continuation of Rayman 1. Also if you enjoyed that game you should check out Raving Rabbids on GBA! It's another 2D platformer, same mechanics as Rayman 3 GBA and pretty much entirely unrelated to the other Rabbids games
I think it was originally supposed to be a companion game to the unreleased Rayman 4 which is why it doesn't follow the Rabbids formula
Yes, finally! I was looking for this comment
Rayman 3 was my favourite! Best music, amd I love the wacky plot and dialogues throughout. As a kid and teenager, I thought it was really challenging too in a great way and it took me a long time to complete it!
Top three and you already chose my top three favorite Raymans. I like them all for different reasons though so no real order for me. Bonus for mentioning Tropical Freeze.
Wish Rayman 3 was playable for ps4
The rayman brain games actually taught me a lot of early english, the game looked pretty good and were fun to play
Completed Rayman 2 recently on ps1,to make sure I did beat it when I was a kid, because I kept getting flashbacks of 3rd boss fight not knowing if it was a dream or a faint memory 😂
Rayman Arena for the gamecube was really good!
i love rayman 3d so much like it’s actually so good, it was my first rayman ever and is so funny like im actually 17 and im having fun on this game. thanks for this really good video btw
Noice list my guy! Origins is probably my favorite.
Rayman M was the first game we got for our Ps2. Nostalgia 😊
My number 1 must be legends idk why I have soo much nostalgia with it and I love the dragon slayer music when he says about legends
Are you familiar with Rayman Gold/Rayman by his Fans? I know it's not really a "story" game and it's more of a level-pack, but it was from Ubi Soft and it actually has some mechanics unique to it that were not in the first game and kind of set it apart as its own unique thing, so I feel like it should have been mentioned - especially if the educational one was.
The RL soundtrack is also _legendary._ I've transcribed quite a number of the tracks if anyone's interested in reading sheet music, especially a few piano arrangements.
All my memories of playing Rayman 2 on my N64 as a kid came back. It was a great experience (although, as a child, some dificult parts made me angry)
Ubisoft's current mascot is a soulless void, to represent the games they make!
Nice vid, btw!
finally rayman content
games like ray man 2, the legend of zelda ocarina of time, mario 64, and aiden cronicals the first mage really blew my mind with how massive they felt even on such a limited game like the nintendo 64, which i only realized in hindsight since as a kid i was experiancing that new world of 3d for the first time, and a lot shocked me. i still remember all my firsts, my firts game ever was sonic the hedgehog 2 on sega genisus, it was like playing a cartoon. then games like mario 64 banjo kazooie and zelda on the 64 showed me the worlds id imagined up to that point but then games like star fox adventures, and fable 1, truly showed me theres no limit except time, seeing the individual blades of grass, and leaves on tress blow in the wind was eye opening to the potential of games... i knew then that there was no limit, and in the decades that followed i saw the evolution of the term photo real from a humble start with projects like the spirits within, and now every game has in game graphics surpassing that level... to the point where reality has started to pale in comparesince to the lush colorful and flawlessly detailed worlds being created with games like red dead redemption 2, and god of war ragnerock... if there is an end to gamings advancment... i dont think ill live long enough to see it!.
Original rayman is a huge nostalgia explosion for me, such a time bubble
Rayman 2 for sure so memorable and advanced for it’s time. Also some love for EARTHWORM JIM and Super Mario games Awesome old games nothing comes close these days.
I actually prefer Origins over Legends not only due to artistic preferences but also because Origins is slightly harder than Legends. I actually felt challenged when playing Origins but Legends felt too easy. It’s as if Ubisoft nerfed Legends so that everyone can complete it. Was Origins too difficult? I don’t think so. What is it with Ubisoft, trying to replace or degrade Rayman until nothing is left? It’ll never happen as long as there are those who support the Rayman games (even mobile games)…
I loved many rayman games as a kid but honestly that worst one was so good to me as a kid as it counted as school work when I was like 6-8 not sure how old but it was so refreshing to play a game for learning rather than game then have to study
Completely agree on everything. Especially Legends and 2 being tied. Only difference is I would've probably put Legends above 2 even though they're tied.
Agreed on the isometric stuff. Child me tried hard to convince myself Spyro season of ice was a good time
8. Jr
7. Hoodlums Revenge
6. M
5. Rayman
4. Origins
3. Legends
2. 2
1. 3
Man the original Rayman was the best one imo. I still sometimes play it on the PSX emulator to this day.
Literally playing it rn
LEGENDS IS SO UNDERRATED, ESPECIALLY SOUND TRACK WISE
I think he likes legends more but had to say rayman 2 to avoid hate
That's why he said so many times that he'd put rayman legends at 1st any other day
origins and legends brought back my love for the series and legends is in my top 3 platformers
Personnaly Rayman 3 is my favorite. Idk I was a kid and this game has such a big warm spot in my heart. Never played rayman 2 but I dont think it would hit the same since im an adult now. Long live Rayman 3!
My favourite is probably legends but I love origins and 3 too.
This might be because I grew up with the Playstation version, but I'm actually surprised to see Rayman 2 first as it was my least favorite. That being said I did recently play the GOG version which really showed me what I was missing out on all these years and how dumbed down that game was on PS.
That being said... still doesn't quite move it up.
I realize it might be hard to do, but I recently realized how the 2D Raymans have their set of gimmicky worlds and environments like Band Land and Picture City, as well as in Origins/Legends - while the 3D ones have a more consistent nature environment. What I'd like to see is a 3D Rayman with gimmicks like the former.
Here's my ranking based on my knowledge:
8: Rayman Junior
7: Rayman: Hoodlum's Revenge
6: Rayman Arena
5: Rayman
4: Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc
3: Rayman 2: The Great Escape
2: Rayman Legends
1: Rayman Origins
The demake for rayman area was on the gamecube. The PS2 one was the full featured one
Rayman 3: Hoodlum Havoc was an absolut fantastic game and we enjoyed it on my console back then (Brother, Friends etc). The music was absolut stellar, too.
Now excuse me. I have to go and race my second shoe. Bastard is on the run again!
PS: I don't know how this plays out in other languages, but in german, each doctor has a very distinct and different german dialect to the others which makes the voice over just and absolute fun thing for us :D
The gbc rayman game is similar to the ps1 version however you don't need to unlock the final boss (meaning you can skip all the cages and can still finish it) however there is 1 drawback... you save with a password system.
So close to beating the original, even that 3d animation at the start was impressive on a gameboy color. But that save system....
In rayman legends you could also unlock tons - TONS of characters. By far the best 2d game ever made
Wonder has some Legends vibes, this game is the goat for being so ahead of its time
I get the feels thinking about playing rayman 2 on the dreamcast when I was a kid.
As a kid my buddy had Rayman Arena and we had some fun with the races! But I could never see why you'd want to own that for single player
I just happened to see this video in my recommendations today. I've never played Legends, I went on Steam, snagged it for $5. I absolutely love Rayman 2 so I'm excited to play Legends.
I wish they would remake/remaster the original Rayman, it’s just perfection
@skankhunt4215This, I was literally researching just the other day if there was a possibility of this happening
Never played any rayman games. didnt even know rayman was in 3d until now. so, im excited to start playing my first rayman game, rayman brain games 😎
Origins was my first rayman and it was freaking awesome, I’m going back and playing and 100% them on Xbox with backwards compatibility now
All I know is Rayman 3 is the best game in the series.
Me too and the first 2 are not far behind.

Rayman Arena was the only Rayman game i had when I was a kid and I liked it but I was also like 6 and looking back on it now, you're right what even IS this game lolol
I loved original rayman on PS but my god that was the hardest game ever. I still have nightmares of that candy lane stage where the shadow is chasing you.
I hope we get another one similar to rayman 2 one day. Even a remaster would be great.
Rayman 2 and 3 are some of the best platformers of all time for me. Great classics. Luckily i still have both copies, cib. 2 on n-64 and 3 on GC.
I've only played Rayman Legends.
I really liked it, even though I haven't finished it yet.
I wouldn't mind a Rayman game collection.
Played 1, 2, 3 and Legends: Definitive Edition.
I'd probably rank them 1, Legends, 2, 3 - though all are great, I really enjoy the old school, somewhat slow, 2D platforming of the first. Though only one or two levels at a time.
Playing thru 1 and 2 for the first time currently, and they're both really fun. 2 is pretty nice to just chill with after a Rayman 1-level, but it's kinda slow and kinda easy, with a pretty dull atmosphere. Still great game though.
Was a while since I played 3, but I remember it having amazing parts - but the overall package wasn't that great. I probably enjoyed 3 more in short bursts on the demo discs.
Legends is great, but I prefer the slower 1. It also doesn't really have many memorable stages, you just rush through them. Fun for sure anyway though. Although its really REALLY long.
Hoodlum Havoc was a HELL of a rental from Hollywood Video
Rayman 2 was one of my first games on ps1, I finished that game for a 100% several times and I can still dream most of the levels. Still one of the best games I ever played.
9:49 the game isn’t Rayman’s origin story, it’s called origins because it’s going back to 2D platformers which are the roots of the series, thus the origins
I remember the music level just messing me up so hard!
Original is my favorite cus i grew up with it and i also love legends
I tried that leaked Rayman 4 game that never released, it had some awesome ideas. A damn shame it never released.
Played Rayman 2 on the 64. Have to agree that it is still one of the best, as I frequently come back to play it. The atmosphere and levels are phenomenal.
Rayman 2 is my favourite nostalgic travel back to my childhood
Also for me, in fact I bought the whole collection on Esty to have all it on my desk 🥰
its really rare to find someone who reviews rayman games these days, thx for this great video,
btw what do you think is the best way to play rayman 2?
Rayman Revolution for sure.
My favourite is legends or origins the graphics are great, I love the art style and also I love the 2d Rayman games I think they are much better than the 3d games and also they fast paced and the land of the livid dead and tricky treasures in origins and the music levels in legends are great and I think they are a great difficulty as well as king foot is great with friends and also it is just so incredibly fun and I still play both
Rayman 2 and Legends are my favorites.
I played a PS2 remake of Rayman 2 called “Rayman Revolution”, that’s my favourite one.
I only clicked on the Video to check if Rayman 2 is #1. Approved!
The original Rayman will always be my favourite. Rayman 2 is second for me
12:30 nostalgia
rayman 2 on the ps2 is without a doubt my favorite, instead of those portals theres open areas that conect all the levels instead.
at the time this made it feel like an openworld game.
I had no doubt you'd have Legends as #1... I am pleasantly surprised to see you had The Great Escape in that spot instead
definitely nostalgia talking there, how anyone can say 2 was better than 3 is on some wild fucking crack
@@keepitsecret-dl1prIt is better though
Rayman 2 on Dreamcast blew me away
Origins would be number 1 for me but that's probably due to nostalgia
