I Found MORE GOLD in this Copper Mine!

- The left over ore pile at this copper mine has a LOT of copper, but also has some amazing hard rock gold. We ran a bunch of the crushed ore through a high banker to see what we could recover, the results were promising.

Is it just me or is Alex a excellent videographer? Excellent work y'all.
Its now official.... Dana is a 'keeper'. Every prospectors dream, a Lovely Lady that actually participates and supports. A rare 'find' indeed!
Dan I know you are not really a fan of suggestions (because internet is bad we know that) but I think it could be a really cool idea if you find lots of old railroad spike to sell them coupled with a piece of that beautiful blue ore from the mine.
Jason did something similar too and sells went absolutely nuts 😂
Most people call it their “golden years” when they retire. Dan can call his years that without ever even retiring.
Seeing what could come out of that after grinding it to dust would be really cool... We have a forest road here in Oregon with a crumbly hillside that just dumps perfectly formed pyrite cubes and clusters all over the road. When the light hits it, the whole hillside glitters.
Thank you for sharing another great video with us. My favorite thing about your channel is how wholesome you are as a person. For example, you named your Ocean Picture Stone after your wife. Those blue and green pieces might be neat to sell in your store.
Dan, what are you & Dana feeding Alex! He's blown-up to be enormous! I'm just so used of seeing him thru the years as the slender red head in the family, Lol! Great hair Alex, now all you need is a red Prospectors Beard like dad! Wize choice Dan getting a copper mine, it's used in almost every electrical gizmo produced, will be extremely valuable in the future, for sure... I'd definitely get in touch with Jason, between you all, I'm sure ya can make things happen! 💪⛏️⚒️👍🤠
A family that climbs Hills together stays together great episode really enjoyed it thank you
It's worked for ours.
Dan, Dayna is a Gold-digger. In this case the good kind of gold-digger.
good job everyone!
I think Dayna is onto something... A lot of those stone could be mighty pretty, cut and cleaned up like ocean picture stone. Galconda Ore cabochons?
Definitely have dug and labored for 12-16 hour days 6-7 days a week for many years , but you definitely feel it years down the road .. especially paving with Hot asphalt , that was one career I didn’t exactly love doing . Black Gold ! lol
I had a guy work for me who Guaranteed he could dig for 8 hours. Said he has done it for years. three hours in he quit. Feeding a high banker is relentless.
11:13 comment rebuttal. for 30+ years i've been a concrete mason, digging up, down, and linear is near day to day, among other personal physical horrors not limited to overfilled wheel barrels on steep grade. breaking concrete out by hand with sledgehammers, hand loading, unloading. pulling and finishing concrete.
i'd love to just dig holes for money, chizel rocks for gems, and run an excavator for pay.. what a beautiful life
I think the best videos you make are the adventures shared with your family. Awesome video.
The all red headed crew really made me smile!
Don't forget the sunscreen! Boy do I know. 💥
My father brought home a COPPER NUGGET(Over 12 pounds) when I was young. Out running drill rig in Midwest.
Probably the UP in Michigan!
@lawrencehaw8780 no, illinois, he was a state employee, he saw all kinds of stuff come up. That was on big nugget¡!
It’s crazy to see how much Alex has grown up. Feel like I’ve only been following for a couple years and he’s literally grown so much lol
Dan I live behind South Mountain in Phoenix Arizona and it was loaded with a lot of copper in the process of going through the minds I found a lot a lot a lots of gold I'm going to suggest you take about 20 bags of that dirt to Jason
Thanks Dan and team
creepy attack fungus!? wtf? 15:35 "it moved to attack you, anyhow lets see if we found any gold today" lol that line is gold.
It’s awesome when Dana and Alex join in the fun! Hi guys! 👍
I might get the opportunity to go poking around in some mine dumps in Oregon later this year. I can’t wait to see what I find! 🙂
1:10 they way you said that made "Runnin' up that hill" start playing in my head! 🤣 🎶
Try digging footers in the Florida sun for 40 hours/week, or tying steel for up to 50 hours/week in the same conditions as I did in my youth. It convinced me to return to school to become a tech working in nice cold hospitals.
I worked at an open pit iron ore mine. Try doing that 10-16 hours a day. I did it for 3 weeks before stopping. There was still more I could have done but I needed rest. I was 23 years old and fresh out of the marines.
Hiya Dan, awesome video and if you could roast your con's you would release the gold. Just saying.
I hope you and your family, have a awesome blessed day.
Cya! 😺🐟 out!
NICE! LOVE THIS COPPER MINE! Thanks dan!
Thank you for the smiles. You always brighten up my day and that's much better than finding gold. But, finding gold is fun.
Congrats Dan & Family!
your wife is such a pleasure. congratulations on all your success and your amazing family. take care
Wow! Dan, Dana's just a powerhouse!
What a wonderful family outing! Wow has your Alex and his red hair and beard grown. He seems to be a natural at mining with everything you have taught him. Hopefully he continues his education in Mining and Envormental Restoration. One day you will do the filming of his show and with his good looks that he got from Dayna he will do great. Love your show Dan, God bless you and your family. Happy Canada Day everyone!
5:40 that ore specimen would be fantastic to sell as a sample at one of the rock and gem shows. And Alex has beautiful hair. I think red or golden red hair is fantastic.
Some of those pieces you held up would look amazing shaped and polished. A metal rake and pick likely would help out a lot doing that.. rake down the surface and then break it apart with the pick when it gets hard. Seems like that stuff would be good to run through that magnetic con separator.
5:40 I've been saving Copper since I was small boy .. MY Dad taught me, everytime you find some put it in your pocket or vehicles!!
Then sell it every year or two, I normally get $40 or so, but one time three years ago, I got $140 !!
there are really fun things I can make with old railroad spikes! giving that history some new life.
Looking forward to the processing videos😊
malachite is one of my fav stones, looks so good polished
The wife never stops and the guys switch lol 😂
Lord knows that a Miners Wife is more than a pack mule! Pretty, Smart, Strength and realy the back bones of the family.
Thanks for posting very enjoyable time spent, Alex definitely has that Viking look down Pat,👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼🤙🏼🤟🏼🖖🏼🇳🇿
14:17 I see what you did there Dan! That is also one of mine and my fathers favorite Simon and Garfunkel songs. Such a beautiful piece of music!
you can position the sluice down the ore pile, and then position a metal slide from the pile directly to the scluice from the high of the pile so you can sliding the ore into the sluice instead of using a shovel the whole day
Always enjoy your video's! It's become my Sunday afternoon ritual!!
"it was a fungus with intelligence, that moved to attack you." comedy gold, too. :^)
It's now summer as of this video. Thank you!
❤ the Family adventure.
Such a fun episode, and also liked the Simon and Garfunkel reference.
Dayna was a Shovelling Machine there on the High-Banker! WTG DAYNA!
WOWZERS ALL THAT PYRITE.
You are most likely right about the Copper Future Dan. With the state of Existing Working Mines.
And Thanks for sharing and doing what you Enjoy. Also involving the Family.
I NEED to get back out and start Prospecting myself, here in AZ.
Not to mention Rock Hounding to rebuild/replenish my stock.
Skin so soft oils work to keep the mosquitos away or 2 table spoons of instant coffee in a spray bottle with water, spray around the ares ur working keeps all critters away
Hello again from Australia opal miner here great videos indeed thank you and your people.
Thanks for sharing.
Can't wait to see what Jason does 👍🏻
thank you
Copper is going to become expensive. Good job on that mine. Can you drive a truck up to the mine, and are you thinking about getting a truck with the equipment for processing ore?
Look at this hardly seen scene animal. Very rare in the wild.
Dan Hurd working a shovel.
Thank you for sharing this wonderful and enjoyable video with us six stars
Love your videos been following you since I first started out panning in 2017
-‼️‼️‼️Great to see Alex again‼️‼️‼️
-That was suck a beautiful shot of the stream & waterfalls.
-Alex great job editing the videos.
-💡💡There is a guy that makes bottle openers w marbles on CZcams.
Like the wife's hat! 😁 sucks game 7 didn't go our way 😔
You definitely should deliver to Jason a two hundred pound sample for Jason to crush.
Hi Dan i like your way...
Positive and happy attitude 😇🤠
My daughter would absolutely love doing this. I have plans to take her to Montana where she can get a bag of pay dirt to pan for herself.
Dan you should tumble some of that malachite they make beautiful Palm stones 👍
Glad Dana could join us today....Pam and I like to see her....Where did Alex get his red hair????????
Definitely from Dan. My wife has red hair and her dad's hair was pretty much white when we met. Now some of her red is turning that white color you see in Dan's beard.
Wow, that lady can dig. Good luck. 🤞🏻
What a great way to spend the day with family. Beautiful!
And great hat Dayna! Last time I commented on your Oilers hat, they went on a 16-game win streak and Cup finals. So I'll compliment it again, and next year, we should win Lord Stanley! heheh
Dan, I dont believe I've ever seen your Misses in a video before. May I say, GOOD FOR YOU sir! You did pretty good for your self😉
Amazing very good
Alex has the most EPIC red hair! As a family, you have ALL struck Copper! 😂❤
Gracias amigo es una excelente técnica
Dana is a work horse, out working son and father
Sorry Dan and everyone! Granddaughter got bit in the face by a dog! A lot of scratches, too. Got 3 stitches on her left cheek and left eye is swollen shut. However, all is well with her eye, thank God!
Go Dana, Alex and Dan on the shoveling! Here I was thinking that the 3+ miles I did as a nurse was hard; nope! 🤔🫣😱 The beautiful ore, scenery and family time was well worth it. I refuse to go near any spiders, so please, no one dare me to spend the night in the adit! 🫣
A couple of those pieces you saved Dan, would be bought on your site. I was amazed at the colors and intact plates of copper. Even the larger ones with the pyrite I love to have! 😎
I can't wait to hear and see what Jason thinks about those samples! I bet you were right on the guess of how much copper per ton might be. Making it a functional copper mine is a great plan.
Those gold pieces are few, but have a ton of character! 🧐🥰 I was thinking that maybe the gold settled down lower in the ore dump piles? It was much harder digging after the top layer was shoveled into the Gold Hog. Just a thought... I would bet my money that there is more gold deeper in the piles.
Howdy fellow Hurd Herders! I missed everyone. Thanks Dan, Dana and Alex for letting us see your family adventure at this promising mine! Happy Fourth of July 🎉 Blessings from Alabama ❤️
Crazy small pieces, but it's gold! Love the videos!
Ay nice guns 🔫
So there are Sasquatch in BC I see that you put one to work Dan, Good luck my friend and thanks for the video 😊
So, when might we expect your video/video series with Jason on refining copper? It is your schedule, of course, but I really enjoyed those videos (Ya'll need to get giant googly-eyes for the rock crusher...) and he is a local dude, so it made me realize to support his videos as well!
Dayna is the champ!
Dan doesn’t have to ever worry about leaving his gold mats at home. He always has a spare one on his chin 😂
Good stuff
Dan, the black sand you get from your gold collecting, do you ever cook it then shock it in cold water? Wondering if there's more gold locked up in the iron
It's like trying to find gold in a copper mine. It's like trying to drink whiskey, oh, from a bottle of wine!
Hey, Dan, I would be bagging up a bunch of that for Jason to process.
Awesome Great channel 😊
You should get a few buckets from that pile and take it down to Jason's.
I hand dug an 18in crawl space out to about 8 feet deep to make a basement. Took me about 6 months working 8 hour days. Was about 6 semi loads of dirt (or something similar to that). That was when I was 16 and in great shape. I couldn’t do that for a month now.
By hand dug I mean with a shovel, not literally by hand.
Thanks interesting
need the gold cube for that spot, with the trommel
At one point I was like - WOW look at that blue ohhhh it's Dayna's socks 😂
I did the same for a split second lol.
what great malachite and azurite specimens, i hope you kept a few to sell on the site and not crushed em all, great video, love seeing color while looking for gold. ps dana is awesome, you won the lottery with her congrats
Dan I used to swing a shovel in an old fashioned coal mine for 10hrs per day and not think about it.
Came for the rocks. Stayed cuz it’s so cute they’re all enjoying the day together
And also a lot of learning. Thanks 🙏🏾
Also go Dana. Love seeing strong women!! Good example for everyone
Dan if you bring a Pick Friskas guarantees them take a picture of damaged they send you a new one it will increase your production in digging ask me how I know !
I'm so jealous! I'd LOOOOVE to go out mining 🥰 but alas, I'm stuck farming and building a new house 😢
ive been watching you for three years now and just thought this now cause the water flowing down was that a spring or melt off still? But it made me think is that bear country and how many have you seen?
You have an amazing wife. She out worked you and your son.
That copper ore looks pretty
Hope Jason film if working that ore 😊
Cheeers dan❤😊
Maybe a good candidate for the gold drop. Might be able to adjust it to get the copper out as well.
Go Alex!!!
