Getting older sucks but this movie makes me feel young again!
You are absolutely RIGHT!
getting older is a gift many aren't lucky enough to receive- Still, i feel ya
@@mustangbrand1159 FACTS!
I'm 51 yrs old and still like yesterday! Damn I wish to go back there
Yeah, I was 23 when this came out, and am now 67.
I saw this movie for the first time in 1979 when I was a high school senior. I still say it's the best movie ever.
Me too, and I wasn't born until 4 years later and I still consider it my opinion, the movie of all movies. I've learned & suggested when the summer '79' had the Warriors and the Wanderers playing as a double feature, there's no better combination than that
@@ericwilliams1575 Never see that movie. Is it this? czcams.com/video/jyqqkQ9DTzA/video.html
I was 8th grade, we left the theater looking to rumble haha
I was a sophomore when it came out. With that ending and song, you couldn't help leaving the theater all amped up.
@@moviesandpopcorn2958 First time I ever saw the film was in kindergarten around the 88-89 era on Fox36 in Toledo. And it was the beginning scenes of Cleon' s & NY gangs' introduction and Bronx conclave with Cyrus. 4-5 years later in the summer '93' finishing 4th grade, I've watched it again on USA Network Sunday movie afternoon where Swan, Ajax, Snow & Cowboy battled the Baseball Furies to the restroom fight with the Punks. And then in December '94' 6th grade, I've watched the entirety from top to bottom
45 years still a classic
100%
Right I still enjoy watching
The level of respect the Riffs showed The Warriors was perfect..
It was the least The Riffs could do. Being hunted down the entire night to kill them for something they didn't do.
Yeah I really liked that as well.
Well they're good. Real good.
@@pingamalinga The Best
@@darrylsmith2084 The rest is theirs.
Almost 70 yr old now.....was just a kid when i first saw this.......I stilll watch it...
A local channel usually repeats this in the summer; I always watch it!
i hear you- back when we had to show ID to get in the movies
I grew up in Coney Island during the 1980's (3002 Surf Avenue Brooklyn, New York). Everyone from my neighborhood know this movie. I didn't know until recently that it was Joe Walsh of The Eagles that sang the final song.
I was barely a teen I'm sure
Me too man, a couple times a year!
I like that Joe Walsh made this great closing song just for the movie. I rarely hear it, but when i do i always think of the Warriors!
Oh wow, I didn't know Joe Walsh made this song for this movie.
Unless i was blind, i did not see Joe in the music credits for this song, I was kind of surprised. I have had Joe;s greatest hits CD for many years and for some reason they did not included this song, I wish they would have.
Joe Walsh, in collaborative with Barry DeVorzon wrote this song specifically for The Warriors. Barry is responsible for the movies soundtrack. Sorry it didn't make your Joe Walsh "best ofs" album.
The way he said, ”No…. It wasn’t us… it was them….. the Warriors!” lol 😆
He even got a role in the movie Commando..Arnold drops him off the cliff...
@@WizzRacing That was for shooting Cyrus and blaming the Warriors for it
@@WizzRacingGuy's a survivor. The Riffs let him go, and John Matrix also let him go
@@rigelc.hoffman2496 no way..u wronggggg
@lorinmiller3317 I never understood, I'm all these years, how did the Riffs learn the truth..?
The way the Riffs just appear out of nowhere!!
Yup. And if I were The Rogues I would have runlikehell soon as I
heard that.. “Yeah, right!”
They appear...
And they ain't happy
With hockey sticks???
And this is when the phrase “FUCK AROUND AND FIND OUT” was born!
👏👏👏
Beautiful ending to this iconic movie.
I can’t believe I’m gonna get to meet all The Warriors at Flashback Weekend Chicago in Rosemont Illinois in August 2024! I’m driving a couple of hours from north central Indiana to be there that Saturday the 3rd !
For real ?! Wow!
Yep get your tickets they just went on sale
Is that a nursing home?
I'm sold
David Patrick Kelly makes the same scream sound when he gets the stiletto in his arm as he does when Matrix drops him off the cliff in Commando... Never noticed that until now 🤣
Pretty close, but in Commando, he says 'ooh-la-laaaaaa' as he falls.. lol (proof czcams.com/video/_wk-jT9rn-8/video.html )
"Remember when I said I'd kill you last, Sully?"
"I lied."
@@sickindahead9226 Lol
Girl asks “where’s Sully”? Commando: “I let him go”.

New York in the 70s was crazy. Disco, punk rock and gangs with hockey sticks. Good times.

They Picked The Perfect Song to End This Great Movie With !!!!!!!!
I will always be grateful to my dad for taking me to see this film when I was a kid
My Dad, Brother and I watched it on HBO when it came out to Cable. Great memories from this Movie. We'd watch this Movie and Caddyshck together. My Dad's two favorites
I agree bro. I was born in 1979 but I'm still wondering if my father introducing to the Warriors or Lou Reed when I was 6 years old was the way to go. Oh, sod it
Dad had a box he hid in our closet that had all the R Rated movies: Terminator, Robocop, The Thing, this. But something about The Warriors just hit hard. Still one of my favorite movies.
R rated movies is my country maximum 16 years.
Even as a young person it was no problem at all to watch R rated movies in the cinema. Except Batman 1989.😂
@@WiseAcres-qk3ik Belgium. Had to do with certain scenes that were not suitable for minors. It was even on the news then. Watching Rambo 3 was not a problem. There was no problem with Batman Returns. I went to see it in the cinema as a 14 year old.
That yell. Makes your soul crawl
Dude had a cool voice but he shouldn't have killed Sirus.
I hope they never ever touch this movie and remake it..This is a classic and it should stay that way.
Oh they will. Because creativity no longer exists. There will be a 90 lb female lead who will toss all these guys around without breathing heavy.
I saw this in 1979 at the Shores Madrid. Fond memories of that old movie theater. Back when movies were great. Great movie. They don’t make them like this anymore.
You warriors are good…. REAL GOOD!!!!
The best.

Good old day's....they don't make movies like this any more.
The movies were the best and the times with no cell phones and no social media ect/
It's a film that is the definition of the idea of a "certain something". You could never pinpoint an exact quality of the film, but it has a certain something. Soundtrack help a lot.
3:02 - "You Warriors are good.. real good."
3:10 - "The best."
3:12 - "The rest is ours."
The best movie when I was just a kid and now I'm 50 is still the best watching..
As a long-time resident of Coney Island, this scene is very sentimental.
The rest is ours.
Talk about top of the line respect.
You know, i have my little brother to thank for getting me into both this movie and the game adaption of The Warriors. Both instant classics.
What a movie. Saw it at the theatre when it came out. What a gem. Joe Walsh closes it out perfectly.
3:50 - "Good news, boppers. The big alarm has been called off. Turns out that the early reports were wrong, all wrong. Now for that group out there that had such a hard time getting home. Sorry about that. I guess the only thing we can do is to play a song."
Love that John Wick 4 paid an homage to this during the climax
Best ever, no other movies are even close.
I remember watching this classic at the drive in as a 8 year, my 16 yr old son considers this a classic as well.
Remarkable that this CLASSIC movie could be made on a shoestring budget with essentially an unknown cast. Epic storyline and powerful performances.
One of the BEST movies. I wish I could time warp back to 1978 - 1979 (movie done in 78, released in 79) when NYC was really still NYC
Much love for this movie! Walter Hill is my favorite director! Can you dig it?
Rock on kids!
Guess he went on from this to start shooting 48 Hrs.
1979 one of the best years for film
One of the greatest moments in cinema history
My favorite part of this scene is how nobody standing behind Swan caught a bullet to the chest. Movies make that mistake constantly.
Was just thinking about that when it happened lol
The wonders of plot armor.
He missed the shot
Have said that Everytime I see this this movie.have since in early 80's
He shot at the spot Swan vacated... you will see daylight between the others there... just missed...
I still have my DVD. I miss my video game.
The Warriors is one of those movies you just don't want it do end; a classic gem of a movie. Really appreciate your hard work in upscaling The Warriors in 4K.........Any chance the deleted scenes can be restored ?
Not really. Because I have The Warriors digitally. That's just the movie. I have it on Blu-ray too. Director's cut but there are no deleted scenes in the extras.🤷♂🤷♂
The deleted scenes are very nice additions.
@@moviesandpopcorn2958they need to reissue the video game for Nintendo Switch XBOX Series X|S and PS4 AND PS5.
Seems they always show this movie with the deleted scenes on network T.V. When they have to remove some of the other scenes but still need to fill the time.
I told my wife they should make a remake but she said they can’t remake a classic and I said true so true 👏👏👏
Feels like just yesterday when i watched this in the cinema as a 17 year old lad.....
When i first saw this movie it was the mid 80s. I got home late at night. It was already half over but i loved it. It took a year later before i caught it again in full. It was kind of cool to see the second half first then a year later see how it all unfolded. This is on my all time favorites movie list. The video game is better than the movie but you have to watch the movie first.
This is the only movie I watch beginning to end and through the credits just to see the Warriors walk freely on the beach
I was in NY in November 2023, and I made a point of meeting Coney Usland because of the movie Warriors. And I also ate a hot dog at Nathans.
legendary movie and game, thank you for this 4k experience.
Great ending to a great movie! The Joe Walsh song at the end made it absolutely perfect!!
Luther (David Patrick Kelly) is probably my favorite character throughout the entire movie. Not because I liked him so much, but because the acting was *_SO_* damn good my hate for him was intense. He made Luther so hated that you get aggravated just listening to him speak in that whiny, cowardly voice. You rock, David Patrick Kelly!!
I like they how they let him basically go with the character and he improvised the whole bottles and chant thing in the car. Turning that scene alone into one of the most memorable in movie history.
@@RichWeigel I had no idea about that. Wow. That makes it even better.
He's the perfect man to play a "despicable weasel" type of character. Commando is another example
he even played Truman
In Arnold’s voice: “You’re very funny Sally that’s why I’m going to kill you last!”
Epic moments from The Warriors: The Baseball Furies chase and fight, the bottle scene. The Wanderers: Leave the kid alone brawl, the fight against the Ducky Boys. As a kid watching these two legendary gangmovies, I will never forget these scenes.
CLASSIC. Only Movie Of It's Kind😊.
This was such a cool movie .. still is!! My brother got to see it in the theater and couldn't stop raving about it. Love the ending when the Riffs are standing up there and heard everything!! The Warriers walking down the beach and Swan and Mercy holding hands. When I hear this song, I think of this scene.
I was born in the 90s but this is one my fave movies of all time
Just Perfect! ❤
One of my all time favorite movies!!
Thank you !!! For one of the best movie
Saw this at the drive in was a kid...still one of my faves still today!!
Michael Beck does an amazing job with a variety if accents/characters as the reader of many of John Gresham's audiobooks.
my all time favorite movie. they don't make them like that anymore. That soundtrack was also awesome
I just watched this again. It don't usually watch movies twice. This movie even with some of the goofy stuff. Excellent Flick over all.❤❤❤
The Warriors and The Wanderers, the two best gang movies ever.
What I love about The Wanderers is that it was ultimately about brotherhood, not proving one's manhood. It was about both the strength and vulnerability of the male ego as boyhood comes to an end. The farewell scene proves my point when the Wanderers say goodbye to each other in a poignant way.
Then again..."Wanderers forever."
Я смотрел его в видео салоне в 1990 году.
До сих пор пересматриваю раз в год.
Уолтер Хилл мастер, большой мастер!!
A classic... and to me very personal because I was brought to NYC 1 year later (1980) and lived through these times of gangs in NYC, wow nostalgia.....
Classic film got to be one of the best from this era
Thanks! This made me smile.

I loved this movie then in 1979 and still love it today at 58!
Classic film .Still perfect 👌
I had this on VHS as a kid, it's amazing to see it so sharp and clear. Amazing remaster!
Thank you , that you like my work. Because this is not the official remaster from Arrow. This is my own remaster.
An absolutely brillinant movie. Will never go old, a movie for the ages. All generations can enjoy, just like The Breakfast Club

It has a cult following to this day. It's even on Prime Video now..
Someone in a superb post distilled this great movie down into the film is basically about diginity with the subway scene of the "Warriors" and the prom kids being a superb example.

Best gang movie ever. You can't remake this movie.
Badass movie!
Great song.
this movie got me into several things , Joe Walsh (Eagles), gang movies, and baseball.
Watched the ending scene and hearing Joe Walsh "In the city"....at the time...I thought this was the greatest movie I ever saw.
Just recently found this on Amazon Prime Video and I couldn't resist. It seemed to feed into subsequent films, like "The Road Warrior" and "Escape From New York." The Baseball Furies and the Turnbull ACs still freak me out! A movie of its time, but classically inspired and took some twists that edged towards dark fantasy. An amazing movie! "Warriorrrs...come out to play-yay!"
Great music
Mi película favorita desde que tengo 7 años!!!!! Ahora tengo 41 y sigo siendo fanatico
This movie is a all time classic.

The amount of the Riff members looked more like an army than a gang.
