      When i was growing up in my city in the late 70's and mid 80's neighboring cities would come to my city and they would all hang out on the ave. It would cause fighting between the kids. It was a poorer time but a great all in the same time. This was a great movie in that time for those that were taking on the bad guys the right way
      The wanderers was another decent movie for that time. But more to the family side of things.

    I remember sneaking in to see this movie and Animal House repeatedly in 1979. We were only 14, and my buddy Fred Siena, who was was my partner in crime back then was killed in a car accident in 1986 (RIP my brother). We must have seen those 2 movies 30 times each. In those days a movie could be in the theaters for months, unlike today where movie turn arounds are measured in weeks.

    • @mozzibyte
      @mozzibyte Před 7 lety +3

      I guess I was to young to remember, but really were the same movies running for months in theaters? I would have thought within the first month the vast majority of people who wanted to see a movie would have seen it, so it wasn't worth running it after that for the small % of stranglers occupying the theater, if you could instead have a new movie on that screen bringing in more patrons. I guess there was not as many movies being made back in the 70s + maybe pre vhs/dvd/internet streaming there were more people like you who saw a movie a number of times. As you say now, many movies are in and out in a few weeks.
