All the best for the future 🙌.
I bet you he was a great guy
This movie has so much more than all the other movies that have won Oscars that are more praised. The Warriors is a very special movie in so many ways. It's really is one of a kind. R.I.P. to Rembrandt, Cyrus and any others from the movie who've passed on.

Entierement d’accord. Un de mes films préférés avec le film « Blood in blood out ».
For me too😀
Its so awesome bro
I remember watching "The Warriors" with my father when i was a kid, and i remember this song at the ending.
Born in 1989 and growing in post soviet Bulgaria in the 90s, i was getting my first glimpses of the world outside the Iron Curtain.
My father loved this song because of "The Warriors" movie, but because of the message that had.
That you fight no matter of the circumstances, and that you must fight for what you beleive.
My father had a very difficult childhood, he was a child of divorced parents, and back in the soviet times that was a big stigma for a kid.
He had been bullied, he had been put on watch by the local KGB, and he was not fitting in soviet society at all.
But most of all, he was freeminded.
Around 1984, when Perestroika and Glasnost took place, there was more relaxed regime for movies outside the Soviet sphere.
And people could actually watch movies outside the Iron Curtian.
One of the very first movies my father watched with his then girlfriend, was this movie.
That was their first date, but my father was determined to impress her, because he had many girls for one night, but this girl impress him with something unique - she had character and resilience, and she stood for herself.
They both really enjoyed the movie, and after that night my father invited her to his apartment.
That girl that he invited was my mother.
In 1985, she gave birth to my big brother, and in 1989 - to me and my twin brother.
When i hear this song, i think of both my parents who are now in heaven, and about the movie "The Warriors" which is connected to them both.
Born in 75' in Poland and I can undarstand you 1000 procent, we both had a very similar live...
That was beautiful man thank you for sharing this. Art is the lifeblood of the world 🌎
The warriors fought all their way back...and kicked ass ...when necessary and had the best looking outfit that damn vest was just timeless...THE BEST....
All the way back to Coney!..."This is what we fought all night to get back to?!"-Swan
I love the warriors! So cool, greetings from Franconia!❤❤❤
@@terryc.3390If you actually from NYC you would understand niggas had to fight all they way from Van Courtland park in the Bronx on the 1 line all the way to Coney Island hell of a journey
No they had to BOP their way back to the beach
One of the most underrated movies ever, I hope that they never remake this movie, it’s fine just as it is and it brings back some old memories from my childhood, can you dig it
Hiya Chris. There was a replicate called Bronx Warriors that came out pretty soon after, but I wouldn't advise watching it. The original is unsurpassed as a teen gang movie, and will remain so. 🗡️
It's not underrated; it's a cult classic.
The PS2 game was cool. There was a prequel part where you got to play as Cleon.
@@WorldCupWillieI saw the movie as a kid in the early 2000s the game made me love the movie that much more
Those of us that were teenagers when this came out it has a special place in our hearts and it takes us back to a certain time that can never be recreated, or duplicate . To be able to be that kid again, to be able to live those days once more would be awesome which doesn't really say it cause there are no words to describe it just how special that time was .
Spot-on comment, Bryant. I'd give everything I will ever own to be able to go back to those days and re-live them again.
We got out of the theater after seeing this movie for the first time and were sidekicking parking meters and shadow boxing. We were on top of the world. Those were the times.
I was 8 years old...
Just watching the world unfold...
The legend of The Warriors was huge...
I am from Massachusetts, 50 miles from Boston.
Unfortunately, there was a murder as a result of gang violence at the cinema..
It was devastating news.. kid got killed for watching a movie...
The movie has forever evoked a feeling of taboo in me, in a way that speaks danger...
I was instantly intrigued when I finally became old enough to actually see it on home video..
Wish there would be an Anniversary cinema re release...
Spot-on comment. 100% could not agree more. The 70s had an irreproducable atmosphere. If only we could've stayed there forever.
Was so happy to see this film in the cinema when I was 15 years old. Must have been 1979 or 1980. I’ve never watched it again as I’m a bit worried I see it way too differently as a middle aged man. As a spotty adolescent these Warriors were so cool. Memories.
Isn't anyone going to say how epic the cinematography is on this film?
Each shot in different camera angles are just phenomenal
Evidently the filmmaker began his career as a comic book artist. So he naturally brought a lot of that to the set. It shows, and it fits this movie so well. Played a big part in making it what it was, and is now.
Agree. Alot of modern films are really visually dark and murky. In the warriors even the night scenes are full of colour .
Yes, it's True 😹
Especially, because on those days there wasn't much technology as today! 🤗🤟💪😘🌹
You did.

Joe Walsh is an underrated musician/singer/songwriter. This 🎵 and 🎸 👍
This version of the song blows away the regular album version, IMHO.

The warriors is one of the best movies of all time, and Joe Walsh is so amazing, he's from Kansas and that's where I'm from😊😊😊
I like Kansas.
Walter Hill is one of the best directors from the 80’s.
One of my all time favorites! My old man took the entire family to watch it with him back in the day! The poster hung on the wall in our dining room for years!
That's actually pretty cool! I love this movie too!
One of the reasons this song has such a big impact at the end is because there was no music for quite a while, just a lot of great action. So when it does start playing there is a huge emotional impact of completion and a kickass song.
A movie I will always love. Swan and his crew fighting their way back home, Swan and Mercy's love story, the music...timeless. ❤
this was the perfect song to end that movie with. I LOVE the ending with this song playing, the Warriors are walking away, and the ending credits are going up/movie making perfection.
Thanks for your love and support ♥️❤️
Yes, without a doubt. This is one of those films where the soundtrack film is perfect for the atmosphere they were trying to achieve.
@joewalsh6633 Anytime, Joe! I was glad that I could find it to put on here after someone else did. Someone asked if there was a version of the song with the movie and you playing. Heck, I got the DVD,CD,VIDEO and Vinyl (? Spelling, it's late LOL)! LOVE IT ❤️ 😍 IT

Joe Walsh,,,,,DAMN!!! He is so underrated, One of the most talented singer -songwriters musicians ever.
Backing vocals are incredible.

You could never remake this today. All of the gangs today couldn't run because they would be tripping over their saggin' pants.
That's the truth
Hardly any guns either just fights.
What can I say .... Spectacular!!!!!!
That and nobody would watch it😉
They could if they have it set in 1979,which means no saggy pants. All with the trends of 1979

one of my favourite ever movies. takes me back. WHOPPER riff and tune
What a time, what a time. If only we knew how bad music was going to get after the 80s we would have appreciated it even more at the time.
I'VE BEEN SAYING THIS FOR 40 YEARS, FIRST OF ALL GOOD EVENING ✋(AT LEAST HERE IN ITALY IT'S EVENING) THE 80'S WERE UNIQUE, MUSICALLY SPEAKING, SOMETHING DECENT ABOUT THE 90'S, BUT THEN THE MUSIC, THE SONGS, THE SINGERS CHANGED FOR THE WORSE, BELIEVE ME, BACK TO THE MOVIE, MASTERPIECE GREETINGS FROM ITALY
Brings back great memories. It was always shown on HBO around Halloween. Just a classic.
I always wanted one of there Vest thought it look cool

😳😳😳
Joe Walsh from the eagles
Many young people never heard 100s on these great songs
Think u can listen to the Soundtrack album on Spotify but it’s a good listen as far as Soundtrack albums with songs goes. There was a time for a long time where it was the norm, even to licence a bunch of Artists to provide original material. Yet another thing that’s vanished, like intrigue, thoughtful changing colour palate, establishing shots, characters making journeys, a sense of place...still alive in Indie Cinema tho
That's awesome and depressing at the same time. Your generation has missed out on so much good music it makes me so sad. Anything before auto-tune, go back and LISTEN. 70s 80s.
The best movie ever made.
During High School in Italy we study The Odyssey by Omero, the Ancient Greek poem about the adventures of Ulysses (Odysseus) and his companions while getting back to Ithaca, his home island and reign. The Warriors is the modern version of Odyssey, equally epic: Swan is Ulysses, they now use the Metro instead of boats… A lot of similarities and many differences too, of course. The Lizards vs. The Sirens!
The closer you get, the farther away you are.
greatest ending song for a movie ....period
Classic film. So iconic!
The warriors film 🎞 was awesome 👏 this song played at the end when they arrived on the subway ( last stop Coney Island ) and departed for the beach 🏖. Cool 😎 scene!!
Awesome scene. To my knowledge that scene alomg with many others were a tribute to the original Greek story that inspried The Warriors book.
The Warriors 🏴☠️🦅🔥
Somewhere out there on that horizon
Out beyond the neon lights
I know there must be somethin' better
But there's nowhere else in sight

City streets don't have much pity
When you're down, that's where you'll stay
In the city, oh, oh.
In the city
I was born here in the city

A fitting song for this movie. A kick ass version of this tune. Joe Walsh is awesome !!!
Growing up "in the city" NYC (1970s ,1980s Bronx) that is, just makes this wonderful film hit differently. Interestingly, The Warriors was not that far from reality. When I was a kid, I remember seeing gangs with vests with their gang names sewed on their backs, wandering around the NYC streets. Some had motorcycles others had bicycles. Most just walked the streets or rode the bus and subways at night. Some relaxed by their hangouts, hung out at the pinball machine hall, pool hall, or video game room (that was the early 80s) or stood on the corner admiring the young ladies or spray painted their gang names and symbols on building walls and subway lines. Other times they were setting up to battle another gang for turf or "turf wars". Some even got killed over a woman! It was scary at times, yet very interesting as well. To me, These were large "families" associating together , protecting each other and also what was their turf.,, you know... what they owned. You were fine if you minded your own business and treated them with respect. Do the opposite and you had problems. Their main issues were rival gangs who started trouble, tried to mess with their women or were very disrespectful in other ways. Just dont get caught in the middle. 70s, 80s NYC was a very dark, grimy place yet an interesting place with lots of character... real ppl who were tough skinned and knew how to take a joke and speak their mind. and to think...The Warriors depicted all that energy into an hour and 30 minutes. Check out those deleted scenes in the movie. They have websites dedicated to showing them. I think they add power and feeling to the movie! Great film. Will always be loved by many!
My favorite movie of all time... they never looked for a fight, but never walked away from one either, and they were all time bad asses
