이번 앨범 [CONTINUUM]은 ‘빅스’로서 끊임없이 연결된 무한한 여정을 담았다.
‘연속’이라는 대주제를 다양한 컨셉으로 풀어낸 이번 앨범은, 빅스 개개인이 개인적, 음악적으로 꾸준히 성장하고 있고, 이는 곧 빅스라는 그룹의 끊임없는 발전이라는 메시지를 내포하고 있다. 자켓과 뮤직비디오를 통하여 다양한 색채, 감성, 감각의 표현을 통해 이번 앨범이 감각적인 연속성을 가진다는 의미도 함께 표현하고자 한다.
이번 앨범 자켓은, 빅스 멤버들이 함께여서 매력적인 'WHOLE' 버전과 개개인의 매력을 담은 'PIECE' 버전으로 나누어 표현했다.
'WHOLE' 버전에서는 빅스 각 멤버가 공유하는 하나의 링 형태의 원형 오브제를 통해 그들이 가지고 있는 메시지를 전하며, 모노톤의 의상에 무게감 있는 레드 컬러 포인트를 매칭하여 심플하면서도 깊이 있는 분위기를 보여준다. 반면, 'PIECE' 버전에서는 각 멤버 개개인의 가치관과 이미지를 강조하는 컬러를 활용하여, 독립적이고 독창적인 매력을 부각시켰다. 각자가 표현한 색채의 이미지는 멤버들의 개별적이면서도 풍부한 다양성을 보여준다.
뮤직비디오에서는, 이 앨범을 관통하며 하나로 아우르는 링 오브제를 통해 빅스가 추구하는 가치를 시네마틱한 영상미로 풀어낼 예정이다.
빅스의 세계를 지탱하던 영원하고 완전한 모습의 링 오브제가 깨지며, 멤버들은 서로 다른 꿈 안에서 각자만의 중요한 가치를 망각한 채 고립된다. 어딘지 모를 시공간을 하염없이 거닐던 이들은 무언가에 이끌려 본능적으로 잃어버렸던 기억을 하나둘씩 찾아간다. 그 기억의 조각 속에는 개개인의 변화, 사랑, 꿈 혹은 각자 지키고자 하는 가치로운 것들이 담겨 있으며, 마침내 기억을 찾게 되었을 때 하나의 빅스로 완성됨을 완전한 링 오브제를 통하여 표현할 예정이다.
빅스는 이번 앨범 [CONTINUUM]을 통하여 뮤지션 빅스로서의 견고함을 보여준다. 오랜 시간 기다려 준 팬덤 STARLIGHT를 향한 애정과 고마움도, 빅스로서 멤버들과 무대 위 함께하는 설렘도 이번 앨범에 꾹꾹 눌러 담았다.
음악부터 자켓, 뮤직비디오까지 무엇 하나 빅스 멤버들의 손길이 닿지 않은 곳이 없는 빅스의 5번째 미니 앨범 [CONTINUUM]. 더욱 더 성숙해진 빅스의 음악을 통해 진심이 담긴 묵직한 감동을 안겨 줄 예정이다.

몽환적인 Vocal Chop 과 중독성 있는 Guitar Loop 가 조화를 이루는 R&B 기반의 미디엄 템포 곡으로, 후렴구의 Electric Guitar 라인과 Bridge 의 변박과 함께 고조되는 Vocal 과 String 라인이 인상적이다. ‘왜곡된 기억 속에서도 우리는 결국 서로를 끌어당긴다’는 가사처럼 멤버들 각각의 개성적인 매력이 한데 모여 비로소 드러나는 VIXX 만의 단단한 정체성을 보여준다.

Here's an explanation of VIXX Amnesia comeback:
This time's comeback is called 'CONTINUUM' as if they're saying they're continuing their VIXX careers despite what happened and they'll keep making comebacks henceforth as 4vixx.
This comeback is referencing VIXX's past music videos, missing members and 'Amnesia' talks about how they want to live in the past memories and continue as VIXX, as if they're choosing to have amnesia about all the mess that happened with the members.
The narration in the trailer of the MV references many past VIXX videos:
"When life is possessed (VOODOO DOLL MV) by fear,
Sensations (Scentist mv) and Memories (Eternity Mv) scatter like sand in the wind.
Past wounds are buried deep in the abyss, and we live on in glittering fantasies. (FANTASY MV, HADES)
Up until someone breaks down this fortress (CHAINED UP),
We will desert this fragmented reality into oblivion, and remain isolated in eternal dreams. (ETERNITY)"
You can also see a lot of references to past mvs made in the mv of Amnesia itself:
1. Hyuk's red outfit when he sits on the chair and the whole set up is just like Ravi's scene in fantasy.
2. Leo when he's chained up is like the scene of Hongbin in Chained up mv.
3. Leo drowning is the same as Chained up.
4. Ken is searching for the heart which is the same heart that belonged to Hongbin in the Error mv.
5.The silhouette Ken is looking at is just like Ravi's in the Chained up mv.
6. Leo and the girl's clip is referencing the part in Hyde mv.
7. They even shot the MV in the same place as their PARALLEL mv.
There's definitely a lot more but I'm probably missing out.
There were a lot of references just to Hongbin and Ravi in the MV so I feel like Amnesia is related to the missing members and about VIXX's career that they're going to continue.
Even their album names are called PIEC_E and WHO_LE. If you place this age wise from oldest to youngest, the missing spaces stand for Hongbin and Ravi exactly in the order that they left the group.
Note that, Hyuk started his own directing & production company called Ad.a who took care of the MV, styling, photoshoots and everything. Jellyfish didn't do shit. I'm so happy Hyuk, the maknae did all of this with the VIXX members and brought VIXX back.
There's definitely another concept going on there in the mv where each of them seem to have Amnesia and have to find their own solution to it or something and Leo may have something to do with the girl. Some people say the girl could represent Starlights/their fandom.
Even though there can be another concept going on, it's clear that they're mainly talking about VIXX, the missing members and about their career from here on. They want to continue as if nothing ever went wrong in VIXX. (That's why they said they're having amnesia in the lyrics as well.)
This time's comeback was so heavily focused on past MV references that I understand why most non-vixx stans or fans that were away from vixx for a long time didn't understand the concept. I hope y'all read this and understand it a little better!!

@@radwaasem229 Hongbin made some comments that were seen as disrespectful to other idols and he tried to explain what he meant instead of apologizing, which the company didn't like so they kicked him out. Ravi was also involved in a controversy for delaying his military service/getting lighter duty and voluntarily left to not bring down the group. N is still in the group, but hasn't been promoting with them lately. He is busy with his acting career.

@@SamGVL08 Well, two members have left the group. Ravi and Hongbin. Ravi, due to controversy surrounding his enlistment to the military and Hongbin due to controversy surrounding a livestream he did at one point. That's just the simplified explanation. N is still a member but he was unable to participate in this comeback because of a drama he is currently filming. His schedule did not align so it is just the three members for now.

I've been listening to kpop for almost 20 years now and I'm generally a girl group listener. But Vixx are a gem, their concepts/music is never boring. I love that all the members have different vocal tones. Leo's is light, Ken's is soulful and Hyuk's is deep. Missing N's melancholic voice but hopefully next comeback.

Coming here after reading an article fan upset because N prioritised his acting career than their group comeback preparation. Btw i watched the castaway diva. He is doing great in acting too.

Then I explored VIXX's music when Leo, Ken and Hyuk made my jaw drop performing Shangri-La, Chained Up, and Voodoo Doll in early 2023. They've definitely left behind a legacy music-wise to me that I can still explore and I'm happy to see the new stuff that members put out! (LOVE Hyuk's song "way to you", and had fun watching Joseon Attorney bc Im a sucker for historical kdramas)

I adore each and every one of them, all 6 of those men have such a special place in my heart.. with N being my very first Ult (still holds the title but shares with two others now after all these years), it hurts so badly to not see him and the others here too. It’s so bittersweet 😭 I am still hoping that someday, somehow, 6VIXX will come back together as one. Even if it’s only for anniversary lives, I don’t care.. it’s a hopeless dream but I’m holding tight to my delusion. I’ve been a starlight for nearly 8 years so it’s incredibly hard to let go of the WHOLE group who cemented me into the kpop world.. I miss them as they were but will support them as they are, and as they will be. I will be a starlight until the very end ✨

when you thought jaehwanii was for years already at the top. there is just something in this Continuum that brought out a side of ken i never got to hear before but was secretly fantasizing about. a little less ballad a little more sultry and a little more of his lower register, a little closer to "romantic" and the rnb version of scentist. the way he comes in on this second chorus in Amnesia is so cool

@@takumotomoshi básicamente Jellyfish (J) le ha hecho de cosas para dejarlo fuera de las actividades, a pesar de que se nota que N quiere participar, esta actitud de J empezó en 2020
En 2020, Hb fue atacado horrible por gente que ni siquiera entendió lo que Hb dijo, Hb fue a dormir, el odio creció muchísimo, J fue a su casa a despertarlo y llevarlo directo a J, obvio sabemos amables no fueron :)
Jamás lo protegieron del hate, ni una sola vez, J no hizo nada, y dejó solo a Hb, le ignoraba las llamadas/mensajes incluso, Hb se disculpó por cosas que no debía disculparse, lo trataron horrible y todo esto pasó mientras N estaba en el servicio militar, así que N no pudo defenderlo de nada :'), al final Hb se salió del grupo y el servicio militar le dió una sola semana para enlistarse (lo cual no es correcto ni debería ser, pero ajá, así fue :'c)
Desde entonces N tomó una actitud diferente, y dejar mensajes ot6, J fue dejando de lado a N, y no planea las cosas para que N pueda agregarse, lo ha dejado fuera en muchas cosas este año :)
