Rope access window cleaning 35 story building with rigging.

  • I'm slowly learning video editing and was going through old files. I found this from a couple years ago in the fall which is why I'm bundled up. This isn't how I would rig anymore so this isn't a how-do video. I have the wrist brace because I hurt my wrist a few months prior. This is one of the higher buildings I've done on ropes.

      I'll probably make one on the next building because it's a post-construction cleaning so it will be something new. I just felt like like it was a little repetative with standard cleaning haha.

Trust your kit, trust your training and trust your colleagues, and the salary starts to seem reasonable. It’s not an exceptionally dangerous job if you follow the rules. Deviate, and you’ll start to encounter danger

      Yeah well... In my opinión (for being that I am in Argentian and Petzl it's UNbuyable) the "real McCoy" it's an steel 8 dissender, with an 8mm prussik rope. That combo provides anti-panic and slow-fast disending, and it's cheep to replace (the prussik rope ring), and also easy to use in self-rescuing...

    hi, im starting out with a company that does rope access. first i need to learn how to clean windows but i took the job because i love heights. im about 30 pounds overweight due to a leg injury about i sustained a year ago so i wantred to know how much physical strenghth you need to pull yourself back with your gear?

    • @BrodyYYC
      @BrodyYYC  Před 3 lety

      It's a more physical job than you would expect especially depending on the size of building. I also see a lot of people get into it cuz they have previous experience with rope access but have no window cleaning experience. I won't lie both are a big learning curve. I think people think "it's just cleaning windows" or that you just have to not be afraid of heights. It's not so much the physicality of pulling yourself anywhere but more the overall job. Like you don't have a Sherpa to bring your ropes and gear up and haul your ropes up. I recommend getting a squeegee and scrubber at home and practicing for hours. Hopefully the company you're working with wont let you do anything stupid :P So learn the basics of rope access since I hope they are obviously rigging for you and then just hone your skills. Obviously safety is the number one since without that you can die but also window cleaning isn't as easy as most people assume. With that being said you will totally get it with practice.
