- I was talked about on my favorite radio show The Signal on CBC Radio 2l. It was an amazing show but the host Laurie Brown decided to retire the show after a decade of awesome music. I managed to record it both times :)
This building has a slight overhang so it can be a little more unnerving hanging out from the building than being up tight against it. Great views of downtown Calgary and the Saddledome!

Love your work but definitely I love the background music! That drum and bass made my day! Thank you mate! Have a nice and safe work!
some nice liquid
It's nice to have people like you who inspire us ❤️❤️
I'm an ex IRATA Level 3 Rope Tech (London based). Watching has brought back memories of one of the best jobs in the world. The places I have been, the views I have seen. Although, I did hate the window jobs!
Im thinking about getting IRATA 1 here in Sweden. What have you worked with as a rope tech?
@@Ficorum I spent most of my career travelling all over the UK working on everything from installing bird protection on residential tower blocks to cleaning the clock face of Big Ben. Concrete inspection, bridge painting, window cleaning, painting, confined space access; every job was a different location and task. I spent some time in Germany and had countless great nights out with my colleges. If you don't mind height and are multi skilled then go for it!
@@M0LMK Then I'll get it!
was thinking about moving to london and maybe start training for rope tech. May I ask why ex? Also would you say that London have enough jobs for a light tech who is mainly into entertainment business? (if you know of course) Because I am interested into mixing those two with the hope of becoming a rigger in concerts etc.
@@ProjectMaelstrom I moved into radio communications and became a radio engineer. More time on rooftops and masts enjoying the view and less time washing windows or in confined spaces! I left the industry in early 2000's but the work was mainly construction and maintenance based through the company I worked for. I'm not clued up on the entertainment industry so don't know if IRATA is a tinge with them or if they just use general "riggers". My advice would be to call around some of the bigger companies and ask a few questions. We were always on the lookout for new blood with other skills.
Thanks for posting your videos. They inspire confidence in me to trust my ropes more.!
Every time he leans over, I fall right through the damn floor 😵
Nice work! Nothing like dropping down the side of a building. Especially taller ones. Keep up the good work!
Amazing bro.
excellent content, the author is handsome, quickly and efficiently produces work👍, music "amen" 👏👍
From Edmonton 🔥 this is a good video
Привет из России от коллег по мойки окон, работа класс, музыка еще лучше!
Спасибо :)
The shoutout from Laurie Brown in this is so awesome!
I miss The Signal. I would specifically work late so I could listen while I worked. I got to meet her in Vancouver on her farewell tour.
Lol also I clicked your profile to see if you had any music playlists and what's funny is when I met her I was wearing a t-shirt with 2 bison on it. Plus I have a bit of an obsession and connection to paleontology. Your brain is like the same as mine lol.
@@BrodyYYC Haha!! Hey so cool, that's rad you got to meet her. 11pm air waves definitely aren't the same. Dig your vids too, great vibes with the tunes. Family drove from Regina to Drumheller every summer as a kid so paleontology's baked into my brain; you said you have a connection too?
PS. Those bison ended up making it into a short film I did a few years ago if you want to check it out (stay for the credits, haha): vimeo.com/427207064
I would be scared the rope would break. So I tip my hat for the work you guys do I couldn't do it.
country life the ropes not gonna break, the tensile and dynamic strength is incredibly high
As long as Rope Access safety guidelines, practices, and procedures are strictly observed and follows with absolute correctness, there should be zero accidents on job site....💪💪💪💪💪
you have two ropes 1 has got a seatbelt like system to catch you and the other one you are on, also both of the ropes can hold 3 tones seperately, lol
:P
@@ecstakeen1359 thank you brother 🙏😂

That was a good idea... Tying butterfly knot and bring down the pail slowly to the spot u work... Normally my friend will pass me the pail...
It works well and that way everything is always tied off. Just grab it with your cowstail first. If it's a low parapet I just go over the edge with my bucket already attached.
Nice gh
been considering this line of work for the last few years now im going for it and im stoked and a little bit nervous but in my head long as in straight and rested everytime im up there and tie off theres no real danger...least that's what im gonna tell myself! honestly my biggest fear is people some drunk in his place drinking mid day and goes oh hey i wonder what this rope is dangling nah i dont like it ill just cut it😬
nice video,im rope acess level 1
Came for the scenery. Stayed for the tunes! Well played. Shamb fam?
same :D
How long it took you??
I also do high rise the longest one i did 2 and half hour
1000 window=$1000💸💸💸👍👍
where those purple anchors point purchases
Whats the red suction cup for i have to say thats one scary job
It's for fixing dents in cars haha :P
@@BrodyYYC lmfao! ;)
Awesome ride you gave us, I washed every window with you..💪💦
What happened to the chair and that broken thing at the bottom?
Who knows lol. I was wondering the same thing at the time.
at 1:20, triloading is not good for anchor rigging, right ?
absolutely nothing wrong with it. its a rated karabiner like all others
This isn't how I rig now as you can see from my recent vids but there is nothing wrong with it.
@@BrodyYYC yap, as long we use oval steel carabiner
@@BrodyYYC hjuu
How old are you? And how long are you rope acces worker?
I've only been doing rope access a couple years. I've been cleaning windows for about 6-7.
What kind of seat board are you using?
Just a standard Petzl podium.
@@BrodyYYC Cool. Thanks. We use MIO or Sky Genie boards here in Seattle.
@@newgunguy4176 I've never used a bosun's chair before.
@@BrodyYYC I find them to be very comfortable. We also use rack descenders quite regularly. Some guys don't feel the need to go for cam descenders. Pretty cool stuff.
@@newgunguy4176 I would like to try a rack for sure. The only advantage of something like an ASAP is being able to ascend with it. But racks sound more fun and also more cost efficient.
Exclusion zone? People walking around.
It's private yards and they have warning we will be working above so stay inside. The person below is with us. She was keeping an eye on stuff on the ground for us. (This is landing on the 4th floor of the building)
is this calgary? or Edmonton
Calgary
@@BrodyYYC shit, i am in edmonton. Love to have a coffee with you sometime and pick your brain
Quero muito tralhar assim como fasso?
how much salary window cleaner ?
Isn’t this technically illegal against OSHA since both ropes are tied off to the same anchor?
It's considered a structural anchor so there is nothing wrong with having 2 points on it. OSHA is American. I'm not :P
Yea that pedestals not meant for a “tie off point”.
You don't think it's an acceptable structural anchor? You don't work in rope access I'm assuming?
BrodyYYC correct. I do not work in rope access. But I do install pedestals, tie downs, tie backs for rope access, and other exterior building safety equipment. And pedestals are designed for A davit system. Not as ur tie off anchor point. Yes, it’s going to hold ur weight. But it’s not designed for some one to tie off of it. Regardless. Stay safe out there.
@@Fonzzer13The base of certified and up to date davit plates are used all the time as structural anchors. In fact I didn't even have to use independent plates because they're so bomb-proof I was able to safely run both my lines off a single plate.
BrodyYYC yes they are used all the time as structural anchors illegally. . But my company was specifically created for window washers by window washers to safely clean windows and a lot of the methods window washers used in the past are consider illegal now a days By osha.Depending on the building or state. And if the Building has window washing equipment( Pedestal, davits, sockets,PPP,SMB,CDA or water fed poll ) why not use them? I’m sure the building would rather use ur method to save money... but the equipment is a lot safer then hanging off the building by ropes. I give u all the props in the world. It’s a dangerous job. And I give u all the respect for it. Just be safe.
@@Fonzzer13 @Fonzzer13 lol my drive to work is statistically more dangerous than my time hanging off a building.
First song name?
I think all the songs should show up in the description. Looks like it's called Aegean Blue.
Does that woman drop too?
Yep, everybody wears helmets on ropes, just no point in wearing them for rigging on this one. I'm assuming what's why you were asking :P
BrodyYYC yep 🤙
What ever your salary is, its not enough.
Minimum of $300 + a day
@@Tomahawk8989 good money. But in my opinion they all deserve it. I couldn't do that job.
I've only been up 13 stories so far but man it is a rush splash and swoosh easy work long as you dont have to race the sun before the water dry
who cares how tall the building is? would you be fine with falling if the building was only half as tall?
Lol you are the only one that mentioned falling off it. Keep in mind you're cleaning the windows on the way down. That's why height matters.
Please sir dont forhet the window frames
no bench ? strong anus bro :)) jk
