    I've bought three pairs of skates this year across the brand's with different set ups. I skate all of them and love the different feel to each of them. My rollerblades probably just edge ahead for me because the fastenings are great quality and they are comfortable. However, I'd welcome a freestyle skate that had a fashionable edge as I'd love something that looked a bit more stylish as well as functioned well.

    I have and love the Powerslide Hardcore Evo Pro and Next. For me they are great skates, boots and really a system. I have purchased many of the frame options which gives me lots of fun options. However, the Adapt GTO is definitely on my wish list! I believe that the Adapt GTO is #1 for sure and then for me it would be #2 Powerslide Hardcore Evo Pro but that is definitely subjective because I am really loving the Powerslide Hardcore Evo Pro. I am just not sure I can justify the extra money or changing frame systems.

    I’m debating a new pair of blades rather than changing my wheels again. It’s the shock from different terrains that currently is stressing me out . Would a retrofit endless or trinity low mount and city slickers or seba wheels be better or do i just change skates. Can you advise? I have Solomon skates bought over 8 years ago . Ive been out on them they still feel comfortable with a aluminium frame but when compared to my ice skating abilities I’m not getting anywhere . I love LocoSkates, they are surely my favourite skate shop, and I have been following their advice since day 1. For freestyle skates, personally, I would put Powerslide NEXT no.1, after trying many freestyle skates. I love NEXT so much, I have two pairs :D
    The reasons being,
    1. The wide toe box is amazing, you can skate for hours and hours without feeling tired.
    2. The cuff is adjustable, this may not be significant to some, but it really gives you the best comfort and support by adjusting to your own preference.
    3. It's ready to go right from unboxing. The liner is heat-moldable, but don't really need to , it's really comfortable, and it's good to go right off the box.
    4. I think 110 / 100 would be the best options for NEXT. The trinity mount makes 100mm the exact same height as normal 80mm, you can enjoy faster speed at a comfortable height. 110, not much difference, just faster and better rolling.
    Some cons for NEXT would be:
    1. The toe protector is definitely too thick, in my opinion. When you do a cross acid slide or such, it would easy touch the floor and slide out, especially if it's NEXT 80mm
    2. I would change the stock frame to something better, like a katana frame or such, to make it more responsive and enjoyable.
    3. The ankle support I would say, is not enough for 125mm or bigger. Personally I'll stick to 80 / 90 / 100 / 110.
    To me, NEXT 100mm is definitely my favourite freeskate of all, highly recommended! And new colour ways keep coming every now and then as well! Give it a try for sure!

    @romzen Před 3 lety +7

    I got me a pair of FR1 Deluxe recently and can't stress enough how great the Intuition liners are. Other than that I find the skate underwhelming. The lower strap is fine and it rolls very stable despite having low weight and a lot of flex. My bodyweight may be a little too high with 105kg for these skates and I overall prefer the stability and less flex of the Powerslide Next and the Twister Edge X. The FR1 wheels aren't also my cup of tea. I prefer much the Hydrogen 85A wheels from Rollerblade. Much faster and just as grippy.
    Ordered me a set of V2 Intuition liners for my Twisters as I hate the Twisters' liners.

    Great list of skates. Freestyle, freeskate, freeride, urban... it all works for me! Hey, how are your ribs after that fall on the Roces? Hope they weren't broke! I have the old Kaze 110 and they just don't seem stiff enough for 110 but the new ones look like an improvement. I'm really interested in the Tau but not sure if a carbon skate is right for me. It's interesting that the plastic shell boots can take more abuse, have better shock absorption and still offer solid stiffness for power transfer. I'm just not sure a carbon skate is worth the price. But I'd still like to try a really good high end skate some day. Keep up the great work!

      @LocoSkates  Před 4 lety +2

      Rolling Dubai Guy! It was a good 4 week recovery... so maybe broke! I’ve been doing this for years and still not decided if Carbon Fiber or plastic is better. I feel very stable on the FR1 even on 110’s. I think it helps that the intuition liner is high. For some reason most carbon fiber skates have a low cuff which maybe doesn’t make them as stable when riding bigger wheels.

    • @caio22rocha
      @caio22rocha Před 4 lety

      The main difference is Evo has 5mm higher in the heel. the 2018 TAU was not heating moldable this one is heat modelable. The Evo is wider but just a bit. if it is heat moldable you can remove the pressure points, skates are always a bit narrower at the beginning because the skates are completely new, be in mind that skates from Powerslide are generally always cut a little narrower than those from other manufacturers.

    If not to mention additional NEXTs and Kaze, I think that Twisters here are only because the Rollerblade brand should be mentioned, but they couldn't be in fact compared with carbon or handmade Adapt skates. I don't mean that they are bad skates. They are great, just from another category.
    NEXTs, Twisters, simple FR1 - these are comparable and this is in fact the list that I recommend to anyone who asks me what skates to choose.

      ran a pair of NEXT over last year and the quality of the shell and the liner is awful for a 300€ rollerblade (in fact, i have owned Bauer, Fila, roces and Nexts are the only ones that had broken or misplaced pieces here and there in just a few months, not to mention being super painful for the ankles, altough this last one may be something personal). Just got a pair of twisters and they cant be even tought on the same league, i guess powerslide has become all about marketing, now the twisters have awesome straps, awesome liner, awesome shell... know what, i guess they are awesome on everything if you compare to the nexts. Rollerblade has been breaking the marketing for decades for something i guess (and those are my first RB ever), dont think it too much. Ah yes, the 250€version of the twisters mount too a much better wheels than the same price range nexts, you have to fatten the price till the undercovers (my case) to get something similar.

    Hello I have a question, I see rollerblade twister and FR1 intuition… so between roller blade twister and normal FR1, which one would be better?

    • @LocoSkates
      @LocoSkates  Před rokem +1

      Not much in it! The RB is heavier but more solid. The FR is lighter and less solid. The main reason you'd buy one over the other is the fit. The rollerblade is a little narrower.
