    You have done an excellent job with your channel and business, I see your signs in some of the properties I maintain. I’m glad CZcams recommended your channel to me, looking forward to learning from you Chad!

    Hi there, I just put down neptunes harvest crab shell fertilizer today that is a 5-3-0. I want to stay organic as I have a young child. What else would you recommend I do to have a plush green lawn for my child.

      @bettercallchadd  Před 4 měsíci

      Crab shells are one of the best fertilizers for a lawn.
      You can use milorganite, humic acid, sea kelp extract, and amino acids for fertilization.

    Hi Chadd. Quick question. Which one should I use on my St Augustine grass in Summer months?
    The Ironite Mineral Supplement 1-0-0 Fertilizer, or, the Ironite 1-0-1 Fertilizer? Not sure of the difference and why one says Mineral and the other doesn’t. Thanks!

    • @bettercallchadd
      @bettercallchadd  Před 6 měsíci

      I do the do mineral supplement, in my opinion. You can't go wrong either way.

      @@bettercallchadd Awesome I will use the Mineral one thanks Chadd.

    I have started getting clovers in my Saint Augustine lawn in St Aug. I’ve already put pre-emergent on. How should I kill these things? seems like they are taking over fast! Thank you.

    Enjoy the info; thanks. Any suggestions for Doveweed? My St Augustine is being devastated everywhere I repaired with Sod Patches.

      Msm mixed with Avenue South works well. Definitely will need to be treated at least twice.

      Absolutely!!! That's a great summer product. There's not much of a difference, but the 1 0 1 has potassium as well.

    I just recently moved to a new house and the yard has St. Augustine grass, the soil is really compacted and I’m curious if I should aerate the lawn now or wait until the upcoming spring to do so.

    • @bettercallchadd
      @bettercallchadd  Před rokem

      If it's really bad, aerate in September and then again next spring. It will take a few aerations to get the lawn where it needs to be.

    We recently changed to another mowing company. They cut our St. Augustine lawn too short. They look drier and more yellow. There are some dry spots after they started mowing 2 weeks ago. What height do you recommend for St. Augustine grass in central FL? When it’s cut short, what do you recommend to do? Wait till it grows back to your recommended height?

    • @bettercallchadd
      @bettercallchadd  Před rokem +1

      4 inches or higher always!! You can add some extra water. Apply humic acid and / or potassium. Also, apply soil to the worst areas to help them recover.

    How can you dethatch a St Aug lawn safely ?

    • @bettercallchadd
      @bettercallchadd  Před rokem +1

      You really can't!! You could do a hard raking in the fall or spring, then apply soil after. But any form of detaching is a risk of doing more damage than good.
