Ngwo di iche from palm. We the Igbos tend to neglect ourselves and what we have. Growing as a child in the 80s in Uzo Uwani, all home furnitures were made with that Ngwo tree. Very strong and durable, our people are instead importing the same kind of furniture from China. Ndi-Igbo di very stupid.
City restaurants always outsource for this kind of stuff. Nice one.
I remember growing up seeing a bed made from the same materials then in my grand uncle's home. We are losing our heritage slowly and very painfully...
Right!
We built that in my childhood in Adaba Uzo Uwani. Usually built with Osisi Ngwo
Osisi Nkwo = Palm tree
Osisi Ngwo = Rafia tree
Ogugu Ngwo = Rafia tree Front
Ogugu Nkwu = palm tree front
Nkwu enu = palm wine
Ngwo = Rafia wine
