Na wahoo. I love this instrument. When I was in the village .we played it .our people called it ngedelegwu. Those days. Am from AGUATA Anambra state.but it's no more.i don't see it again nowadays
IT IS STILL BEING PLAYED IN SOME PARTS OF OLD IMO STATE. IT IS CALL IKWERIKWE, IS A VERY BEAUTIFUL SOUND WITH CONSOLING AND ENCOURAGING, MESSAGES FIELD WITH EMOTIONS.
I do appreciate all of your efforts and I have learned a lot by watching your videos, your genuine is clear and your mission to unify the Igbo nation is unique you’re unstoppable bc you are doing the needful, my surname is Ubanni and am from isu local government area of Imo State that’s process that we are all one people
When one looks at the overwhelming 'Igboid' cultural makeup of Bonny more so than Opobo people, everything makes sense about the 'Ndi Ubani' that was corrupted to be 'Igbani'. It's in their language, their music, their Ekpe, their Nwa Otam, their Ikoro and other cultural festivities. No question that 'Ijaw' had a presence in Bonny, the Igbo relevance and influence that King Jaja, Oko Jumbo, the Urantas and many other 'Umu Ubani' houses brought to bear on the island consumed everything else to date. Like Opobo, the 'Aro' dialect of Igbo is the language of both islands all the way into Ohambele, Ndoki of Rivers and Abia and fringes of other Ukwa enclaves. The evidences are so irrefutable for this people to continue to parade their indoctrinated lie against the stack of evidences.
SOME PARTS OF IMO STATE PLAYS THIS KIND OF MUSIC. IT'S A SPECIAL SOUND THAT CONVEYS ENCOURAGING AND ALSO CONSOLING MESSAGES FIELD WITH EMOTIONS. IT IS CALL IKWERIKWE.
The Bini's know d truth. Just that they accepted the lies from these southsouth Igbo tribes so that their (Bini) subjects will become larger. I have spoken to a Benin prince about it during my UNIBEN days and he told me d truth.
May Chukwu Okike Abiama bless you richly and may Ala Igbo continue to strengthen you on this great service you're rendering us.
