- Episode 2507: The Kingdom of Morocco - Country Overview
This week on This Is America & The World, Dennis Wholey travels to North Africa to begin a visit to the Kingdom of Morocco. While in Morocco’s capital city of Rabat, Dennis visits the city’s Museum of History and Civilizations to get a sense of Morocco’s historical role in the expansion of human civilization. To learn about Morocco today as well as the historic US/Morocco relationship, Dennis visits U.S. Consul General to Casablanca, Lawrence M. Randolph. Their conversation explores Morocco’s importance to the region, its role in the world as well as what Americans can expect when exploring the rich history and modern culture of the Kingdom of Morocco.

Morocco is the first country to recognize the United States of America's independence from British colonialism. Morocco is a wonderful and old friend 🇲🇦🇲🇦❤️🇺🇸🇺🇸

Morocco is more than 12 century of continuous history. All our american brothers are more than welcome to discover a magical land
Never knew this rich history. I’m American can’t wait to visit Morocco soon.
"The History of Morocco spans over 12 centuries, without considering the Classical antiquity. The country was first unified by the Idrisid dynasty in 789, representing the first Islamic state in Africa autonomous from the Arab Empire. Under the Almoravid dynasty and the Almohad dynasty, Morocco dominated the Maghreb and Muslim Spain.[1][2]"

Morocco Isn't Arabic, they are North African
@@smoreno5532 Morocco is with arab unit so yuh it is arab country+ Arabic is a language
@@Amurjojo Morocco is a blended country with history, that expand from Spain and France to the Middle East. That doesn’t then making Morocco Arabic.
And Moroccan doesn’t speak Arabic completely, like what you see in Saudi Arabia or Egypt. It’s an dialect, where Moroccan includes France and Spanish words too.
Just because Morocco is United with the Arabs, doesn’t mean it makes them arab. It’s all about politics, and politics doesn’t describe us.
It’s very disrespectful to make our history so squarish and simple by saying we’re Arabs. Our history includes berbers as the originally people, Spanish as the moors, who immigrated, France who stayed after the colonization and Arabs who discovered North Africa and learned us about Islam
Love my country Morocco, the US and Rfissa 😍
Such a fantastic documentary
God bless America and Morocco🇺🇸🇲🇦

He seems to be a perfect guy as a Consul General to represent America in Morocco.
God Bless America
🇺🇸❤🇲🇦❤a lot of love
It's mind blowing to see all of those Directors and Ministers speak English like a piece of cake. It has been years of French domination. Great to see a leading language taking place in Moroccan cabinets. Fabulous!
I was fortunate enough to have extra lessons in the “ American Language Center” , part of “ American general consulate” in Casablanca in late 70s. Thank you Mr. Dennis Wholey for your efforts, and don’t forget “ Rafissa”. As a Moroccan, I was amazed and proud to visit one of the oldest Moroccan consulates in the US, and especially the one in CA ( Los Angeles), which still stands there for more than 2 centuries. A beauty in architecture.
Some people are so nice that you want to listen to them like that consulate.
love the way you presented this great nation...
Greetings to all of you from Oujda City, Morocco.
Morocco is so beautiful

Morocco is a country that has a lot of people from sub saharan background ,so you can find a similar phenotype even in north of Morocco.

REALLY A WONDERFUL COUNTRY 🇲🇦🇮🇱
You know, my American friends, that you are always welcome in our country, Morocco
We Moroccan are so proud and happy about our historical bonds with USA, we'd like to foster the ties with USA further, one major step would be to replace french by American English and develop more real partnerships with American universities
A wonderful reporter, thank you very much for your efforts and welcome to the millennium kingdom of Morocco💐💐💐🇲🇦🇲🇦. The American Consul is a humble person and everyone respects and appreciates him in Casablanca🎩.
God Bless the Chérifien Kingdom of Morocco
What a great documentary hope more americains company Come to invest in morocco we have a such good People and a hardworkers 🇺🇸🇲🇦 ❤️❤️
All thanks and appreciation to the organizers of this documentary program about the Kingdom of Morocco
Just compare this tv show with the kind of tv shows directed by france and you can see the difference between these two countries.. I'd rather like Morocco to have solid relationships with America than France, because they are two great countries with great people and history..
Absolutely true. The French colonialism mentality is still alive
I love the kingdom of Morocco 🇲🇦🇲🇦
One little thing that the US should learn from Morocco is the history of tolerance between arabs amazigh black africans andalousians jews and muslims....etc.
Morocco succeeded in solving the racial issue and integrating all origins centuries ago.
An experience that Morocco should put forward and share globally.
Peace and prosperity for all
That old friendship between the 2 country is just beautiful
Thank you Amerika for this Fantastic documentary.Greetings from heart for over 200 years of Cooperation in all fields.I invited all Americans to visit Morocco, specifically My one city Marrakech.you will enjoy your visit end discover the diversity of the Land, history,culture,food...

Impressive! Way to go Morocco, very proud of watching the curve of development going higher and higher. That means that Morocco is on the right track, hiring real professionals and getting rid of the French economic occupation for good. The best is yet to come, it’s only the beginning. Thanks to all hard working Moroccans, above all the King Mohammed the sixth.

Lovely interview with the counselor
Greetings to the American people, welcome to Morocco 👍❤
Thank you for sharing about my lovely and beautiful country :)
as a Moroccan I m so happy to see an African American at the head of an important mission in morocco ; Moroccans would related to such people more and we have an entrenched background with one another also looking at the dark history of African Americans we love to see more of such people around as eloquent and as educated as this gentleman over here and not the stereotype of African Americans given to us by the American media.
Thank you for this amazing video about my lovely country ❣️, blessings to you from Morocco 🇲🇦. The consul of USA is such a nice guy
Thank you sir for your effort to make this great documentary about the relationship between the United States of America and Morocco. Amazing...

Great documentary. This is a real door opener to the world and the United States. Our long term relationship have a historical background as Morocco was one of the first countries to recognize the newly independent United States, opening its ports to American ships by decree of Sultan Mohammed III in 1777.

Amazing documentary, really! But the most amazing thing that made me so proud of my country apart from its infrastructures and so on is the officials that took part in the documentary speak English. It really makes MOROCCO a respected country.
R'fissa. It's just wonderful to hear that from Mr. Consul General of US to Casablanca. I had r'fissa just yesterday.

The interviewer is clearly a man of the 50s & 60s based on how he presented himself, asked questions and the nature of those questions. He will have definitely gained more knowledge from this novel experience, which proves evolution happens all the time and it is nice to be able to witness one as it took place.
Beautiful 😍
Such an amazing documentary 👏🏻👏🏻
