First time boater here and I cannot decide between the 6 HP and the 12 HP for my Tobin Sports inflatable. 12 HP seems way more fun and capable, but weight and cost are deterring me. Any advice?

6hp is enough but you can definitely put a 12 on inflatable it just takes longer to get up to speed or on plane with 6
Might as well get 6 if you're tight with money
Spring for the 12 if you can afford it. Much better performance, but you do need to carry an external tank.
